"Slow now!" Embamba chuckled as she moved after him, quickening her pace a little. She had enough energy for this, true, but running after an energetic cub wasn't something she'd ever been very suited to. She'd managed to raise three of her own without ever having to, however, and there were some tricks up her sleeve for doing that. "you must remember, an old lady like me can't run as fast as a brave warrior."
The stench was rather noticeable, though. "And when you get back... you can have a bath."

Genge laughed, "I'm sure you're faster than you think. After all, you've got so much more experience, I'm still only learning." Genge swished his tail excitedly as the area became more familiar.
"Of course, Shujaa have to be clean." He nodded, remembering how much his parents payed attention to their coats. His mother was very proud of hers, and his father had white fur like him. Very difficult to maintain.
"I think we're almost back." He looked around, spotting the family den, "Yes! We are home safe and sound!"

"Oh perhaps I am, perhaps I am," She agreed with a chuckle. He was just a child and... well, it was nice to have someone that didn't realize how weak she was. Or, really, could be. She had her moments of strength, after all. In one, she took a few forward leaps to close the distance between them. "up you go!" you laughed and bent to try and catch him by the ruff and take him inside for his bath.

Genge had one of his 'whut?' moments, blinking obliviously as he was picked up and taken inside. For some reason, he had never really gotten used to the sensation of being picked up and feeling weightless. It always made him a bit dizzy, but he tried his best not to show it.
After recovering, he decided to end the brief silence by responding to her first comment, "You're much faster than me, I know that much." He chuckled, trying not to look down at the ground that seemed so far away. "And pretty, too."
