Bio: Hakuro was born into a family of scientists in a small town in Italy. He was a prodigy in both the fields of Physics as well as dueling, a true intellectual in his craft. So skilled, in fact, that he was recruited into the Illuminati, a secret ancient organization of scientists and philosophers who saught out a higher understanding of the universe. He advanced through the ranks quickly and was admired and respected by his peers.
On a glorious August afternoon, he had fallen in love with a young maiden within the Illuminati's ranks. Her name was Annalee Odairodo, a portugese chemist. The two dated on and off and always discussed science and dueling, both passions of theirs. However, they were reckless in speaking of Illuminati secrets so openly. Their words found their way into the ears of a shadow duelist, who was intrigued by their scientific knowledge. As the couple were returning to their respective homes down a particularly dark alleyway, the shadow duelist, along with a partner, challenged the pair to a double duel.
In true couple's fashion, Hakuro dueled using his Water deck and Annalee dueled with her Fire deck against the pair. Unfortunately for them, the Shadow Duelists were well aware of this and counteracted their strategies. Also, as it was a Shadow Game, the penalty for losing life points was to suffer the wrath of the respective duelist's most prominent attribute on the field.
As Hakuro lost life points, the air vapor surrounding him became thicker and thicker while Annalee's clothing started to catch fire. In time, Annalee's Life Points were depleted and she burst into flames. Hakuro attempted to use the surrounding water vapor around himself to eliminate the flames, but he was too late. His beloved had been reduced to ash and, as a bitter reward for attempting to aid her, most of the right half of his body was also greatly scorched despite the surrounding water vapor.
Swearing vengeance on the two that had murdered his love, he managed to draw his ace monster just a turn too late as he summoned the Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth and defeated them both. When he returned to the Illuminati High Council, they saw his scarred face and blamed him for the loss of their top chemist as well as spreading Illuminati secrets and banished Hakuro from the Illuminati.
His love of science and the love of his life now taken from him, his only love remaining was his love of dueling. In honor of both of his fallen beloveds, he has now become a professional duelist and seeks to become the greatest duelist of all time in hopes that the Illuminati would revoke his banishment and allow him to return with open arms.
