Spike shrugged and stuck his tongue out, indicating nothing special. He tilted his head, his pale teal eyes searching hers. He smiled warmly and licked her cheek, nuzzling her again. "Give yourself more credit m'dear" his eyes spoke to her.

Morty giggled and nodded her head as she flapped her wings. She smiled and looked out over the water, debating going for a quick swim.

The large male chuckled and with a devilish grin, tagged her and bounded towards, and into the lake, creating quiet the splash given his size, and lack of grace. He stayed underwater for quiet a while, his wings folded against his back as he swam farther into the center of the lake, after a few minutes he surfaced, looking rather odd having all his fur drenched and flattened. He spurted a fountain of water out, and grinned, with a odd flap of his wings, he sent a wave of water in Morty's direction.

She laughed when she watched him splash into the water and then dive in. She covered herself with her wings when he splashed water at her and she giggled, diving into the water to give chase.

Spike laughed aloud and floated idly on his back, while he waited for Morty to catch up. When she reached him he tilted his head lightly, so he didnt get water up his nose, Feeling better? he asked in his peculiar way

Morty swam up beside him and nodded her head to his question, a smile still on her face. She then started swimming around him slowly, using her three tails as 'propellers'.

Spike chuckled again, watching her propel herself around. He smiled brightly, and watched her. His eyes sparkled Truly are beautiful they said. He felt a bit sad that he couldnt voice that, but then again, his silence was by choice. He just wished he knew exactly what to say, how he could describe his feelings.....

Morty continued to swim, oblivious to Spike watching her or what he was thinking. The cool water felt good against her fur and skin, especially with the sun so high in the sky. She dived down under for a few seconds before resurfacing.

Spike chuckled lightly as she played around. She was so innocent, he felt a pang of protectiveness towards her. And he was surprised at how angry he got at the thought of someone hurting her. He blinked and shook his head, clearing his mind from all those thoughts. Spike found it amusing how he believed she could ever have more than friendly feelings for him, and the thought made him laugh out loud. He was a comforter, he comforted the scared, upset, sad and lonely. That would ever be his role in life.

She looked over at him when he laughed and she swam over, splashing him lightly, "What's so funny?! I'm not that bad a swimmer, am I?" she asked.

Spike smiled and shook his head. no no, its something else.... He 'said' with a grin. The other problem with the big guy was, he had a tendancy to say what's on his mind. But this time he was a bit afraid of...of what? His ears drooped, as he floated there with a reeling mind and an annoying heart. He was afraid of everything. That thought nearly made him laugh as well.

Morty floated in front of him, frowning lightly when his ears seemed to droop, "Spike? Is something the matter?" she asked.

Spike tilted his head from side to side, as he contenplated the question for a few minutes. Finally, he sighed. He nodded his head towards the shore, he didnt exactly want to say this in the middle of the water, one might drown you know.

She blinked at him, but nodded her head. She turned and swam to shore, climbing onto the land and shaking the water from her fur and wings.

Spike smiled softly and followed suit, once he clambered out of the water he shook his fur out, making him a bit...poofy. He frowned and with a few other shakes smoothed his fur out. He smiled softly to re-assure Morty this wasnt a bad thing persay. He sighed and pawed at the ground, he looked at her and in his own way, began Somewhere over the course of watching you grow up and become a beautiful woman... he frowned, that wasnt right. He licked her cheek I care about you Morticia....alot he took a step back to watch her reaction, he'd never been more anxious or nervous, he thought he might be sick or something.
