Ilori grinned and followed after her. Playing follow the kleader, so he copied every move she made as she went, right down to jumping into the water, though it made him shudder a little bit. Cat and all.
But he laughed almost instantly, grinning sillily, "This is pretty awsome!" He laughed, splashing around as he put a good effort into running around in the water, getting Maggie just as wet as she would have gotten when she first jumped into the water.
Ilori was very good at one thing, and that was making big messes and big noises.

Maggie was dabbling her paws in the water when Ilori bounded up, and gave a yip of surprise when she suddenly found herself covered in water. Yet a canine's love for water was strong in the young pup's veins, so she eagerly waded into slightly deeper water, turning around to splash at the golden cub. The poor thing had no idea that most felines really didn't like getting wet - lions especially. She simply assumed everybody loved the water just as much as she did.
Laughing, she dragged herself back up to the shore, the gritty sand clinging to her wet paws.
[cop-out reply from me too. ; ; sorry for the delay, I had no internet while I was moving. and it's been so long, I think one or two more replies should finish this off.]

Ilori let out a small, "EEP!" before he bolted out of the water, shaking it off quickly. Of course, dislike of water or no, Ilori was going to have fun. So he ran straight back into the water, creating a small tidal wave as he went, laughing the whole way. He never had been one to stay down for long. Or ever. Or for longer than three seconds. Something like that.
He ran around the shallow end for a little while, attempting to splash the pup as much as he could. He was having way, way too mucch fun!

As much as she had traveled around her packlands today, it was surprising Maggie had any energy left at all. Yet she still managed to splash around and chase Ilori around the water. She wanted to wade out further, maybe even far enough to swim, but she was unsure about such a feat without an adult around. She'd only tried swimming once before, and while she had managed to stay afloat, it would've been much too terrifying without her parents' presence.
Tongue lolling out of her mouth, she trotted back up onto the bank, pausing to shake like only a canine could, spraying water everywhere around her. Her blue eyes turned towards the sky. It was still covered in slate-colored clouds, but it looked much darker than it had earlier. She was sure naptime was soon to be over at her den, and that meant her mother might realize she was missing.
She was so reluctant to leave her new friend, though. It was the first creature she'd met that had come from the outside world. Turning to face the cub, a rather sad grin slipped over her muzzle. "It's getting awfully late, and I really don't want to leave, but my mama will know I'm missing. And she gets really mad when one of us wanders off," she said, tail wiggling as hard as it could. "It's been really fun playing with you," she said, trotting forward to the cub. In the friendliest gesture possible for Maggie, she reached out her slender muzzle and planted a wet lick right on Ilori's cheek. "Can you find your way back to your parents?"

Ilori nodded, very sorry to see his new friend go. Even so, his mother was a bit lax, but she would certainly notice sooner or later that he had gone off somewhere on his own. And he would most certainly be questioned as to how he got into such a state when he came back. Wet. Muddy. Messy in general. No, his mother would either be very amused, or not amused at all. Probably amused if he came back himself, and less amused if she had to go looking for him. Still, he would miss Maggie. She was the first other... well, creature he had ever met who had been able to keep up with him and not gotten bored or annoyed with him. Even if she did like water a little too much for his comfort. He had still had fun though, which amazed him since he had never really liked it before.
Ilori leaned forward and licked Maggie's nose in return, giggling in his child-like way as he nodded again, furiosuly this time, spraying water everywhere, "I'll be fine, no worries. I have a pretty good sense of direction. I'll miss you a lot Maggie, I had such a good time! We have to play again sometime, maybe when my parents come back along this way with me, I'll come and find you then. And I'll take you wherever you want to go when you get older. Promise." The small cub held out his paw to her, sealing his end of the bargain in a way.

Maggie was also reluctant to see her new friend go. She adored her siblings, but Ilori was new and exciting. And he didn't get annoyed with her bubbly personality either, which was a big bonus. The young pup giggled as her licked her nose. His tongue was much different than hers. It was rough and scratchy, not like the smoothness of her own. "I'll miss you too, 'lori. I hope you and your parents come this way again soon. I'll have to show you more places here next time." She wagged her tail violently, reaching her own paw out to touch his. "And you'll have to show me places outside too!" She yipped excitedly.
"Bye 'lori," she said, a hint of sadness in her voice. She bumped her muzzle against his cheek again before her tiny paws took her off in the direction of the forest. It was time to go home and face the wrath of her parents.
