Soot was very confused over what was happening. She followed Mars and tried to copy what it was he was doing but the whole time she was looking really confused and wasn't exactly sure what it was she was suppose to be doing.
She ran and tried to bite at the deer's legs not knowing if she was suppose to or not but it seemed like a good idea so she did. She looked back at the boys though she couldn't see Mercury anymore and normally that would have made her stop to turn and look but she had a feeling that wouldn't be a good idea so she concentrated on the deer, it made the most sense to her.

Mars grinned at Soot as they ran. She seemed confused but, hell, she was trying and running with them! She was like a sister or... something else. With a leap in his heart he surged forward, enjoying the chase, his muscles flexing, his breath harsh in his throat.
The deer was tiring now, he could see it. He began to worry at her legs himself. He usually waited until the prey was weaker, grabbed it only when it had little stength left but he imagined it might be fun to trip it, send it skidding onto the ground. It might subdue the doe faster and make her easier prey. His teeth dug into soft flesh, stringy muscle and suddenly the bulk of the deer in front of him stumbled, tumbled, fell.
Mercury caught up finally, his bigger frame meaning he was not quite so speedy as his brother. He could see the doe already on the ground and wondered what they'd done to bring her down so fast. He smiled at Mars and Soot as he went in for the last grip, Mars at his side. Soon they'd be having a rather tasty dinner.

Soot wasn't quite sure what to do but when the deer fell she ran to its neck and locked her jaws on. She was then shaking the deer in her jaws finding it a lot heavier then she would have expected. She just held it though, she wasn't quite sure what she was suppose to be doing so she just watched the boys while they did whatever it was they were doing.

"That was good" Mars grinned over the bloodstained deer, it's form now drooping, dead, ready to be devoured. He smiled at Soot impishly. "For someone who says they don't know anything about hunting you did just fine". She really had, he thought. A bit unsure of herself but fine nonetheless. His eyes looked over her once more and he began to realise his admiration wasn't, maybe, totally because of her hunting prowess.
Mercury licked his mouth, clearing the blood from it. He was hungry after that run and ready to 'wolf' his share down. Still, it didn't seem right to do so when Soot was here. "Uh, you can have the first bite.." he said, in his most gallant voice. It came out a bit squeaky but at least he had tried. He didn't quite feel like himself for some odd reason.
