"Now that is tacky," he said with a little cackle, shaking his head from side to side as he tried imagine himself in decks of jewelry like some of the gods wore, his chest puffed out, and yelling at lions to obey his orders. He had a big head, but that was crazy.
He narrowed his eyes at her as she nudged him with a paw, then let a small smirk curl up the corner of his lip and leaned over to give her a little bit of a harder nudge; not enough to hurt, of course.
"Well, this place is pretty much as safe as they go," he didn't see the need to mention the crazy relatives he had just finished training to be pitted against. Once he was grown, he would be a guardian against his two uncles, a guardian to protect others from them, and them from themselves.
"We have problems with that in my family too. My great-grandpa and my uncle Denahi don't have a very good relationship right now; of course, that's got some other problems besides." He shook his head with a little sigh; who ever had a normal family these days?

Oh, it was on. This had turned into an all-out nudge-war! She returned his nudge with a determined 'unnh' sound, sticking her tongue out slightly. But this time, she got up suddenly and took a few steps back so he wouldn't be able to nudge her back.
"I suppose every family has its problems, there's no such thing as a perfect family."

He narrowed his eyes slightly as she shoved him again, being that it was hard enough to make him lean over slightly. Just as he was about to shove her back, though, she bounded away a few steps. With an evil little smile curling up the corners of his maw and his eyes taking on a mischievous light, he slowly pulled himself up onto his feet. Oh, this was so on.
Crouching down, he locked his eyes onto her, body tensed and his hind legs wavering slightly in that feline manner. He gave her a little wink, then, with a playful tone lingering in the depths of his voice, he said, "you better run before I catch you." And with that, he took a leap, aiming to pin her unless she moved, at which point, he would just chase her.

This was what Ihlo was good at. She was a carefree spirit, she loved to play and just run free. It was easy for her to turn almost anything into play, and yet, she alwasy retained a sort of mature grace and sensibility about her.
She did indeed move just in time, but completely unscathed - Njozi landed on her tail. She tugged it from underneath his paws, and then acted like he'd never 'tagged' her, trotting a few more paces away, but poised to gallop away in a game of chase.
"You'll never catch me!"

He huffed a little as she slipped her tail out from beneath his paws, staring after he with a little pout lingering on his maw. That had clearly been a tag, and she just ignored it! Either she didn't know how to play a good game of tag, or she was ignoring the rules all together! However, it really just amused him the way she took control of the situation. He didn't mind a few cheated rules here and there, especially if it meant he got to chase a pretty lioness around some more. He didn't mind it in the least.
"Oh, you don't think I will, do you?" As she bounded away and paused, he sprang off his feet in an instant and dashed in her direction. Being that he was bigger than her, he was going to be a bit slower, because her sleeker, slimmer body was created for speed where his was created for force. As he neared her, he didn't slow down, but lowered his head down instead, pretty sure that she would take off any second.

Ha! She got away with it. She caught the slightest linger of a pout on Njozi's face, but as he didn't contest her apparent cheating, she didn't bring it up either. For now, he was still 'it.'
Ihlo flinched first and hopped a few paces, wondering if Njozi had simply charged to startle her, but as his form continued to barrel towards her, she had to get on her feet quickly! She tore off into the grasses, always away of her chaser. Her odd habit of running her tail quite high meant Njozi always had a way to find her. Silly girl.

Njozi had no problem still being 'it'; he played this game with Buu a lot when they were little and she always liked to pretend she hadn't been tagged if it was a close call. He had learned to bite the unfairness down and instead see it as an amusing struggle - he just had to work twice as hard to win.
As he watched her take off, he thought at first that she was going to disappear into the grasses and force him into a game of hide-and-seek; not just tag. However, as she went into the plain and most of her form became hidden, he realized that she ran with her tail high up. This was, obviously, going to give Njozi the chance he needed to beat her. Though he may be a bit slow, he was not lacking intelligence in every area - he hunted rather well and strategically. This was sort of a hunt anyway.
Bounding out after her, he soon began to move far off to the side. Once he was confident he was far enough over, he began to pick up pace, giving it a dead run. Like his father, he could move if required. Then, with a little chuckle, he turned a 90 degree angle almost instantly and dashed head-on towards her. As he neared her, he readied his body and gave a good leap that would send him flying out towards her. He was kind enough to slow down, however, in case he did pin her like he intended - that way the force wouldn't hurt her.

Ihlo was in her own little world for a while; she was that princess again, running away from vicious lions who intended to lock her away and take over her fictional kingdom. So it was a short while before she noticed that the sound of something big moving through the grass had disappeared from behind her.
She came to a slow stop, a fatal mistake in the game of chase. "Well...I wonder where he wen-!"
Njozi burst into view, and even though Ihlo was flighty on her paws, he was too quick this time and pounced! If she had known he was being gentle, she would have thanked him greatly, as her landing was actually fairly soft.

As his body landed on hers in a fairly soft manner - at least for such a large lion - he gave her a very amused smirk. His eyebrow quirked as he settled himself rather comfortably with his paws pinning her down, confident that he was too big for her to just push off. In a way, he really was a fictionally vicious lion who had just captured her - though, much more attractive than the ones she had in mind.
"I gotcha!" he said triumphantly, giving her a little laugh as he glanced around. He was slightly out of breath from his little feat, his lungs aching from the push and strain he had just forced to them. "You're a lot of trouble, you know," he said, pausing slightly in his words to catch his breath every now and again.
With a little sigh, he flopped beside her, laying in the cradle of grass that their landing had squished down. It was fairly comfortable, actually. As his crimson eyes glanced skywards, he let his smirk fade into a genuinely happy smile. "That cloud looks like a beetle," he said, reaching with a paw to point in the general direction of one cloud among many.

Ihlo 'oofed!' from the impact, eventhough she landed with a very quiet thud considering Njozi's size. He could have caused a lot of damage if he wanted to, and she could only imagine what he wa slike when he was angry at something. A force to be reckoned with, no doubt.
But that didn't scare her. She found it sort of reassuring really. A lion who could stick up for himself. It kind of made her nostalgic for her brother's company though...
As if suddenly awakened to this world, Ihlo began to wriggle beneath his grasp. "Aww shoot! You surprised me, that wasn't fair," she said, in a mock-hurt voice, then began laughing. She could only imagine what she looked like a moment ago, frozen with a look of surprise on her face.
She watched as he rolled off, ready to spring back up if another game was in order. But as her playmate remained laying down, so did she. She followed where he pointed, squinted a little, then smiled widely.
"Oh yeah! And that one there...looks like a giraffe...laying on its side..." she tried, pointing to a long, thin cloud.

Confident that he hadn't hurt her, he let his attention roam away from the subject. With his size, he had learned that he really needed to be careful. It was Bibi that taught him that, of course; his dad was bigger than he was, so he had never had to worry about hurting him - Njozi would be his size as an adult - but Bibi was average sized and he had been very unconscious of his own strength when he first began to fill out his larger form. A few steps on her paws, a few too many hard bumps, and Syeira had begun to teach Njozi how to be more aware of his size - especially since his mother was very tiny compared to him. She had taught him that his force was only to be used when in need.
"It was completely fair," he said with a grin, glancing at her sideways out of those crimson eyes, "you're just touchy because you lost." His tone was teasing, but kindly playful none-the-less. He liked to tease, and he would unless he realized it really hurt someone.
"Really, a giraffe? It looks more like a slug, to me." He said with a laugh, tilting his head sideways in an attempt to see what she meant. "Ah," he said, finally, "I see it now." As he let his eyes drift away, however, he pointed to another, "that one looks sort of like an elephant - see the trunk sticking out?"

Ihlo pretended to look offended in reaction to his playful teasing, being over-dramatic for the sake of making him smile. This was quite fun actually. Aside from her parents, she spent much of her time with younger sisters, who had yet to learn the intricacies of sarcasm and wit. So it was all 'tag and tumble' for them. Eventhough she could detect a bit of ego slipping in now and then, Njozi was very welcome company of someone in her age-range.
"It can be a slug too," she laughed. "A slug-raffe."
One more, she followed his guiding paw and looked at the floating elephant. "Oh yeah. This is probably the only time we'll see an elephant in the sky. I'd be worried otherwise. Imagine a flying elephant that suddenly landed on you...kerSPLAT!"

At her words, Njozi let out a rather loud peal of laughter, obviously imagining one of those huge elephants falling from the sky, flailing around until they happened to land on some poor, unsuspecting creature. As he finally got his laughter under control, he smirked and rolled his head to look over at her. "Well, if that one starts to fall, I'll save you." He gave her a daring little grin, and glanced back up towards the sky.
The two stayed there, picking out animals and plants from the fluffy, bulbous clouds that passed by lazily overhead. What better way to spend an afternoon than cloud-gazing with a beautiful lioness? Njozi certainly couldn't think of one.
