My appologies, I did not realize that Christ was not a surname. Sorry.

I do not know if this was discovered before or after The DaVinci Code. I understand that was fiction. I am well aware of that. Besides, these findings have nothing to do with the DaVinci Code.

I know that all those names were very common names. But does it not seem like an awfully big coincidence to have Joseph and Mary married with a son named Jesus? And that that Jesus married another Mary, when there is mention of another Mary that was trying real hard to get into Jesus' pants? And then Jesus and the second Mary had a child? I know it could be all coincidence...but that's a really big coincidence. By the way, just to show that this has nothing to do with the DaVinci code, I do recall that the child size coffin had a male J name. Jacob, Jordan something like that. I just don't remember what the name was. In the DaVinci code, didn't they say that Christ and Magdoline had a daughter? So this has nothing to do with The DaVinci Code.

I still have no idea where you guys are getting the da Vinci Code from. Never once was it mentioned, until you guys brought it up.
That, in my semi-humble opinion, sounds like wanton paranoia to me. You guys seem to bring up things that you want to blame, even though said item was never actually mentioned...

I apologize to those that need an apology.
But I saw that documentary that Wiccan did. They were talking about how Christ wasn't the good person he was made out to be in the Bible... and that he took a wife. Mary Magdeline. Or however you spell it. And that they not only had a child... they had several. None of this is mentioned in the da Vinci code. As far as I know, they only said one daughter. But whatever. Not the point.
Have I offended anyone with my logic yet?

A) It leaves you feeling uncomfortable
B) It isn't beneficial
C) You could live without it

then, regardless of right or wrong, why do it?

For example, masturbation - I don't know if the act itself is wrong, but I don't see how it's beneficial (people say it relieves stress - there are other ways to relieve stress), and it's not necessary... in my opinion.

Any time I feel like I'm trying to see how close I can get to the "right vs. wrong" line without actually crossing it, I figure I'd better back up a few paces.

then, regardless of right or wrong, why do it?

Yes, there are other ways to relieve stress... but that is the third-most amusing way of relieving it. The first? Well... given my mindset, I'm pretty sure someone can fill you in on what I think number one is.
Number two? Laughing at people. Poking fun at them. On some occasions... violence doesn't solve anything, but dammit, some people need it.
Stress relief number two.
Know what else isn't neccessary? Cookies. They aren't purely neccessary. But people enjoy them. No doctor is going to tell you, 'Look. You're too damn healthy. You NEED a cookie'. It isn't going to happen. But we enjoy it. Ipso-facto, masturbation is not required, per se... but dammit, if you can';t do the nasty, and there's no one to hit... it's almost as good. Not really, but you get the point.

And you people think he's a b*****d? I'm the one marrying him...just thought I'd throw that out there...
