Kubwa chuckled as he saw her jump and fall, how he had done that so many times learning to fly! He stood and stepped lightly towards the tree's trunk.
"Alright, dig one paw into the tree using your claws to catch in the bark, and then put your other and then pull the other paw up digging into the bark," he said and while speaking demonstrated on the tree's bark.
"Your turn, patients is a very good thing to learn, if you don't succeed at first, try again," he bobbed his head in a funny way and a wide smile spread across his maw.

Tizona listened very carefully to his words nodding with each step of the process he explained. Her golden eyes examined his movements with great interest before she nodded several times and bounded up to the trunk of the tree. Readying her body like she was going to pounce she wiggles about for a bit before extending her claws again and reaching up the tree before embedding her claws into the bark.
Tugging on her paw a little to make sure it would hold before trying to reach higher with her other paw and repeating the process. However after about seven paw digs later she started to slip and in haste she tried to scramble up the past few lengths only to lose her grip and go crashing to the ground.
Laying upon her stomach she let out a groan before pushing herself back onto her paws and attempted to scale the tree once more.

Kubwa watched happily seeing Tizona try very hard to learn to 'fly' he watched her actions and nodded along to the correct ones and shook his head to make corrections. He winced seeing her fall to the ground, "I fell a lot trying my first few times too, are you alright? Maybe try again another day?" He offered hoping that he had not damaged her too badly.
"I could give you a boost?" he suggested, "You climb into my back and to the nearest tree branch?" He often stated things in question with young children, he wanted her to work it out, not just give her the answers to everything; it was a way to learn and to grow. He offered a helpful smile.

Tizona was just about to dig her claws into the bark again when he spoke. She turned her head back to him a big smile on her face as she shook her head. "I'm alright, I'm always alright!" She exclaimed cheerfully turning her head back just as he spoke once more. "Nah, I wanna do it on my own. You probably won't be around next time I try so I should learn to do it myself." She explained glancing back again before setting to work.
Digging her claws into the trunk of the tree she was careful to avoid spots where she had already marked and barely just barely manages to get up to the closest branch. Tizona nearly fell at that point but caught herself on the branch just in the nick of time. Hanging off the branch she looked down at the white male a big grin upon her features. "I did it!"

The pale lion beamed happily as she said something quite intelligent for her age, she was right he probably would not be around when she tried again. He bobbed his head in that funny way again, much like his mother did in excitement or out of anxiety and cheered, whooped and hollered as she made her way onto the branch.
"YAY! You did it! See, I told you, you could, easy, takes practice!" He felt much like a cub himself when he climbed trees, "Now if you hold tight and close your eyes you can fly all over the place, or open them as see what you can see from your vantage point, like bird's eye view!"
"Haha, you're so smart!" He added and he was going to tell Tete about this, or possibly tell his new companion.

His enthusiasm made her beam with pride. It gave her the push to finish pulling herself up on to the branch. At first she was unsteady, luckily she found her center of balance and stayed close to the trunk of the tree where the branch was thicker so it wouldn't break on her and she'd have a harder time falling off. "Okay!" She called down to him taking a step forward and closing her eyes.
She felt the wind ruffle her fur much more so than when she was on the ground. It felt nice. Staying like that for a moment she slowly opened her eyes. "Thank you!" She told Kubwa

"No problem little one, now the hard part! Getting down?" he offered again he did not want to leave her stuck in a tree, he wanted to ensure that she did not mind coming down, sometimes it could be frightening.
"You are a very quick learner!" He grinned watching her catch her balance and stay on the branch, "I probably should get back home, show me you can come down from the tree too?" He bobbed his head and thought about again that he would tell Tetemeko he met this smart little girl, and how easy it was to teach others to climb and fly. He thought it possible to start a school of sorts.

Tizona frowned when she heard that he had to be leaving soon. "Aw, okay." She replied with a slight pout that soon rebounded to her happy face once more. Now the young brown cub had to figure out how to get down. That was going to be tricky. She couldn't just jump from the branch she was on, no it was too far down for her to attempt such a thing and this was the closest branch to the ground.
Wrinkling her nose she furrowed her brow before bitting down on her bottom lip. Suddenly an idea struck her. She would go down the way she came. Or at least a similar way, she would make her way down the bark of the tree until she was bid enough to jump down from the branch without any worries. Grinning she dug her claws into the trunk again and made her way down.
When she was only a few feet from the ground she released her grip pushing off of the trunk before landing in the grass. "Ta da!"

"Bravo! You're so great at this, maybe one day you'll be able to climb the great trees in other lands, the ones taller than mountains!" he grinned happily, he was so proud of his new little friend.
"Now that you know you'll be able to climb anything!"
"It's time for me to leave though, time to maybe teach someone new to climb," he smiled warmly towards her and turned towards home, always home. He wondered sometimes if his mother wanted him to leave..but he always knew his copse as home, and he never wanted it to change.

"Do you really think so? That's so exciting!" The young pridelander chirped excitement evident upon her features. Even though Kubwa was still basically a stranger Tizona most definitely considered him a friend and she was so happy that he was proud of her, it was obvious that he was. "Thank you soooooooo much for teaching me! It's lots of fun!" She chimed.
A pout formed on her lips momentarily before it reverted back to her happy smile. "Alright! Have lots of fun! Maybe we can 'fly' again sometime!" Tizona called to his retreating form lifting a paw and waving to his back. When he was no longer in sight she turned and trotted off to her family's den.
Wait until they heard she could fly!
