Awww, I happen to like Dorothoy freakin' crazy eyebrows. She's standard Gundam character design. I mean, look at Trowa's hair!
Duke Dermail. xD He's one of those characters I love to hate.
What about Odin Lowe? Does he count? x3 I hate irony and he was in it thick.

Odin was cool. He basically started the war by killing Heero Yuy.

XiKeiyaZI Skye Wen Dorothy freaks me out- it's less that I don't like her and more that she scares me a little. I'm not entirely sure why (though her abnormal facination with Relena and war may be part of it). .... Or could it POSSIBLY be the eyebrows? ...mabye just a bit sweatdrop She's intelligent and has depth, and I respect that...but she's still creepy. Hilde bothers me too, as much as I try to like her. I just don't like how the creators seemed to try to come up with female counterparts to the pilots. It just feels a bit...cheap, like the characters don't exist for their own roles.

I really don't see how any of the girls in the show could be considered nothing but "counterparts" to the boys. They all pretty well stand on their own.

Era Etra I don't really like Relena. Mostly because I don't like her voice actor...a really bad job I think. That and she is a stalker! LOL! she only stalk him one time then after that she went on her own .

Same here really... She like... I don't know. I find her really annoying simply because she's only there really... to annoy Duo or "be there" for him.

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding Hilde rather badly. She represents the average colonist's point of view, which was especially important in the space arc of the series, where OZ was distorting information and making the Gundams look like villains. At first Hilde goes along with them, even supporting OZ by volunteering, but when she learns the truth about the Gundams (from Duo), she leaves OZ and begins supporting the guys, feeling that they're the ones who have the colonies' best interests in mind. She is not just there to give Duo a heterosexual partner, or anything like that.

I get what you're saying, Void, but I still feel that she doesn't do much for the characters once she leaves the military. Out of all the females, Hilde seems to know the least about what would be helpful to everyone. She goes off and hides away, and basically comes across as kind of. . . inept.
I know, it could be just me (and the fact that I haven't watched the latter half of the series in years sweatdrop ), but that's how I honestly feel. I'm not trying to say "I'm right, you're wrong, STFU", so please don't think I'm trying to pick a fight or anything. whee

No, I understand what you're saying. I just sorta like Hilde and find the dislike she gets quite disheartening.
The thing is, Hilde is one of the least connected people in the cast. She's not like Relena, or Noin, or Dorothy; she only really has herself. In that way, she provides more of a "ground-level" look at the conflict. Her roles are still important, though...she gives Duo a hide-out and an alibi in the latter parts of the show, and does what she can to help out. In a way, what she does is show that a "common" person can do things of value even in a situation like the one from the show.
