He blinkd, turning his head to look at her. "The graveyard is a nice place. If you want easy food, quiet, and it has neat places to stay. And sometimes its a matter of taste. Thing is.. Hyena's were chased into here by lions to start with. And when we start liking it, they try and take that too. " He shook his head in annoyance. "Well, this place is ours now. 'n we're a fightin' for it. "
Orange eyes scanned the empty area, large ppaws crunching bones easly beneath them. He was searching for something; a lion. He'd fought with him once, and now he remembered it. He'd thrown the punk off a cliff. Accidentally! Ha, ironic. But the cliff hadn't been that high, so maybe he'd be alive.
And maybe he'd be able to finish it.
But his ears perkeed at a faint sound of voices, and he lifted his head, looking into the distance as two hyenas approached. Funny.. He thought this was the lion side of the graveyard. But Ahali'Bagawa had nothing to fear. hyena's were already smaller than a normal lion, and in his bloodline, he was already big. And he had grown even before that natural strenght of a firekin. Two hyena's weren't that much trouble, if annoying. They had those annoyingly strong jaws..
Stupid scavengers.

Kai nodded her gray head, agreeing that this was indeed a nice place. Sure, everything was dark and gloomy pretty much all the time, and the hyenas here had a very strong hatred for lions, but it was a nice place all in all. They had almost nothing to worry, except the pride right outside their doorstep.
Suddenly, Kai's paws stopped, her white-socked ones starting to slightly go backwards. Her dark nose was sniffing the air, and she had a look of confusion on her face. "Tibuka.. Do you smell that...? I've never smelt that stench in the Graveyard before."

"Yeah. " He snorted in annoyance, sniffing the air. Lion. "A lion. It doesn't smell like a maziko.. But its still in the graveyard. We best chase it off. " He snorted, starting to trot, head low, before stopping and looking back at Kai, waiting for her to come.
"We're two, so we outnumber it. Shouldn't be that hard to drive it away. " He nodded, as if t take away any doubts she might have. He knew better than ot get in a fight alone with a lion; they were big, usually. Harder than lionesses.
The lion smirked, crouching behind a fairly large elephant skull, his fur was red, but it was dull. He wasn't an obvious give-away. He heard them; they wanted to fight. Ahali didn't generally enjoy hyena's, but they meant to drive him out anyway.
He'd just rough them up a bit then leave 'em in the dirt. Noo problem.

Kao followed his example, putting her head low and starting at a trot, coming up next to him. She nodded, not really sure about this, but decided to go with it anyway. This would be her first attack.. With anything, and she was heavily nervous. "Alright.. I think. Ummm... I've never fought before... I.. Don't know what to do.."

"Not much to it. Ya bite, ya bark, ya grown 'n pounce. " He grinned meekly for a moment, and then perked his ears, starting to sniff around. The graveyard wasn't a particularly windy place, so there was nothing to carry someone's scent. He had to find it.
But then he heard something, much like the reloading of a weaponbefore the actual shot, and then a roar, that loud rumble lions used both to startle and paralize; Tibuka froze up.
Pehraps the dumb brown hyena hadn't expected something as large as he, or for the roar to come so suddenly. But Ahali had already picked a target, the smaller one, the grey female. See, he wanted to see how the male would react.
So with the roar that had stunned Tibuka, he launched his body at Kai, blowing his cover from behind the skull, intent to pounce and pin, or at least scratch. Might as well have some fun.

Hearing the roar, Kai slightly froze too, never hearing that roar in her life. It scared her, and she didn't know what to do, other than stand there, stunned. However, as soon as a giant black, white, and red lion came out of nowhere, the gray female freaked out, doing her best to scamper out of the way. Otherwise, she'd be crushed.
"TIBUKA!!"

Tibuka gaped for a moment, staring at the lion; besides Mrost, the god, he'd never seen a lion so large. And this one.. Wasn't a god. But then he saw it moving for the young female, and snarled himself, charging, teeth bared and leaping at the lion, trying to get a grip on anything.
Ahali smiled at the effect of the roar, and swung his paws to try and at least smack the female, but then the muddy-looking mlale was commign at him. Nice. He spun around, bracing his large shoulders for the impact, then moved to tackle the male, confident the female wouldn't try anything.

Kailasa watched with horror as Tibuka charged at the lion, and the lion readied himself for Tibuka's attack, after he had tried to smack her with his large paws. Her tail was stuck between her legs and her ears were flat to her head. Her silver eyes watched with terror, her mind very confused, and starting to get upset.
He's.. He's.. Smiling.. But why? Why?!
Becoming more and more upset, the gray female started to bear her teeth, growling some. Her tail came up and started to frizz, her claws digging into the ground below her. Suddenly, she snarled and leaped at the lion, her claws digging into his back leg, just baring holding onto him as he ran towards Tibuka.

Ahali felt the sharp pain in his hind leg, and cut short in his tackle, swinging slightly backwards, then merely... Sitting on the little female. "It is unwise to go right behind someone. " He quirked a brow boredly, Kailasa now stuck under his weight.
But soon he felt another pang on his front paw, and let his claws go out, swinging his free one at the hyena who had just latched to it, soo attempting to give tibuka a good scratch on the side, adrenaline pulsing through him like a river, forcing him to ignore the pain.
He was content when he tasted blood in his mouth; the lion had been distracted.. sitting, on Kailasa, and he'd managed to get an easy blow to his paw, but not enough to get him off kai.
And now he felt the other paw against his shoulder, and it was sliding down painfully, claws piercing into his skull, and he kicked and flailed, but he was smalled, weaker, and he didn't want to let go of the lion's front leg.
And all the time, the feline was smiling.

The female's silver eyes became wide when the lion suddenly turned her own move against her and sat on, making her yelp at first, and then cringe in pain. He was so heavy and so large, making her stick to the ground. She couldn't budge an inch, and it was starting to hurt. Her claws were still stuck in his back leg, and she couldn't see Tibuka anymore, which made her fret.
Struggling, she tried her best to break free, but couldn't. So, she did only what she could think to do. She unhooked her claws and began to slash at the back of the lion, hoping to cut him here and there, making him get off.

Tibuka snarled, kicking and flailing and sinking his teeth as deep into the lion as he could, tugging, pulling, but as strong as a hyea's jaws were, he did know; the lion had the upper hand.
He felt his own body toss and turn and hit blanks, and there was nothing he could do. He felt the lions sharp claws tig and rip into his shoulder-blades, and then finally, he let go, and was tossed aside.
Fortunately for Ahali, hyena claws weren't really that sharp, and yet this female stil ldidn't try and bite him. Though, that didn't mean her attempts to slash didn't hurt-- not to mention, that bite in his front leg would start to ache and throb as soon as the adrenaline in him died out; but by all means, lets keep it running a bit longer.
He twisted his body and put his large paws against the female hyena, and sinked his claws into wherever he could reach, not to cut, however, more to hold her in place. He moved his bit arse, but kept the grip on her, and after fighting away Kailasa's paws, he bit into her, right on that place in her back where the mane ended, just because he knew; she couldn't lick a wound there, merely because she wouldn't reach it.
Ahali'Bagawa sunk his teeth in, then shook his head to maximise the damage, as the brown hyena came back and jumped on his back, trying to get through the thick mane to land a bite. He snarled.

The pain.. It was sharp.. And it seered through her back, right down through her legs and into her paws. Her eyes began to water and her body was still for a moment. Suddenly, she was being shook around, giant, white teeth digging into her flesh, making her finally speak out. Her eyes clamped shut and a hurt howl left her throat, her teeth gritting together afterwards.
She didn't know what to do. This had never happened to her before. She had never gotten into a fight, never bled, never had any type of wound on her at all. It was all so new, and so very painful. She felt like she was going to die right then and there, no 'ifs, ands, or buts' about it.
Opening her eyes for a brief second, more tears rolled out, her teeth still gritted. Her claws scratched at the dirt, hoping for some way to get out of this mess, but she didn't see one. She held back anymore howls, trying not to look weak, but she couldn't keep it up for much longer.

The male hyena growled, folding his ears back in frustration. He couldn't find a good place to bit, the liopn kepts moving, and the mane was thick. And he could tell Kailash couldn't hang on much longer, so he jumped off, and planned a different approach.
Ahali smiled when he heard the effect of his bite, and sunk his teeth in deeper, using his claws to scratch against her neat fur, grabbing at clumps of fur for a moment, brows furrowed over his eyes, making them look startlingly scary and bright.
However, in moments he felt a sharp pain in his hing leg and snarled, giving the female one last shake, then with a slap against her face, without using his claws, this was merely blunt force, and then twsited at the brown male, now sinking his teeth into his own hind leg, with that strange strenght a hyena had in its jaws. He snarled, he didn't want a mangled leg, or any body member, and with hyena's, that was a huge risk, so..
He ran his claws past the males flanks, and pushed him away.
"Next time, don't go for more than you can bite. " He huffed, after regaining his posture, mane falling over his reddish orange eyes. Tibuka lay on the ground, as if faking death, and then the lion left, simply. He would tend to his wounds now; let the two hyenas to their own.
Tibuka wheezed on the ground, feeling the sharp sting of claws of his flanks for moments more, before staggering to his paws, watching the lion leave and snarling; he wanted to go after it, he wanted to make it pay-- but the lion was right. He was more than Tibuka could bite.
Wait.. hadn't kai been here? "Kai? " He asked, turning around to look for the female, ears perked.

Kailasa simply laid on the ground, breathing very harshly, her body having been knocked a few feet away by both the blow to the face and the pressure being relieved off of her as the lion got up. Her body looked almost as if it had been crushed, and she had blood oozing out of her back, darkening the color of her mane, her fur, and the ground below her.
Her face faced away from Tibuka, and she was barely breathing. This action with the lion had nearly killed her, him being so big and her being so small. It also didn't help that she had never been in any type of pain before. She was always so careful and dainty with herself. However, the large holes and rows in her back completely said otherwise.
For a second, Kai thought she heard something, but then wasn't sure, as she was in too much pain to really concentrate. Her silver eyes looked about and everything was very fuzzy. Her body was limp and searing with pain, but she didn't feel like she could get up and do anything about it. So, she simply laid there, her breathing still heavy, and her body still very much limp.

He folded his ears back. Could Kai have died? No.. He didn't think so.. He could see that faint breath. He stared at the body for a few moments, unsure of what to do. He'd never been near someone in this state before, and though he had experienced pain all his life, he was never sure how others took it.
The bite looked bad, but the lion had been heavy, he worried more about her having broke something, but he didn't think so either. "Kai.. " He murmured, and padded over, lying next to the female, clearly not minding getting her blood on him-- he was already covered in blood anyway, was he not?
"Kai, get up.. lying there wont help, we gotta get you clean.. " He muttered, and nudged her quietly. He was a tough, cold hyena, but Kai was in the pack, and she was a pretty nice female-- he'd take care of her. Tibuka sighed, now that he was on the ground again, he didn't feel like getting up either, but if they didn't clean the wounds, they could get infected. But would Kai be able to clean hers, where it was?
He pressed his nose against the side of her neck, nudging the female encouragingly.
