I've started renting the old episodes from the library- I'm currently watching the Key to Time seiries (w/Tom Baker). When I first watched it, I couldn't help but fall into fits of laughter. It seemed kinda campy- I absolutly love it. Tom Baker was an awesome Doctor, kinda eccentric in a way. He makes me smile.
And Ramona kicks a**. biggrin

So can you get like, DVD set's of the old Doctor Who's? Cause my dad and I have been looking into wanting to see some more of the classic episodes.
I think the 5th Doctor looks interesting. xD He accessorizes with celery.

Galaxy_defender I used to watch it on UKTV Gold too, but I haven't seen in on recently. So I just stick to what DVD's I have... even if I only have about 3. Galaxy_defender woolie Before Doctor Who restarted I watched Tom Baker/Peter Davison on Sunday mornings. I did that too! It's probably why I love Four and Five so much. That wasn't the first time I've watched Doctor Who though, I remember wierd blurry memories of watching Doctor Who when I was really small. According to my Mother I used to watch it a lot..... Thats basically my story too... as we're sisters, we watched it together and all that... Galaxy_defender liked it a lot more than i ever did though. I mean, it was brilliant, but she was obsessed, rather than a nice young fan... The only difference is, is that i love Troughton and Tom Baker the most. Nine maybe my Doctor, but Two is my fave =D

@ SilverArrow92: Hmm, I think you only love Troughton and T.Baker the most because our mothers favourite Doctor is Troughton and T.Baker is legendary. Plus, being obsessed is so much more fun than being a "nice, young fan" ...you get away with a lot more stuff. xd I think Five or Nine are "my" Doctor's, as they were the first ones I ever ever saw, that I remember properly.

I see no mention of myself here! All of these buffoons in their ridiculous scarves and celery. And that multicoloured clown! Simply peprosterous.
If I may suggest something a bit more, eh, sensible, one of my companions was once mistaken for a god by a group of Aztecs. Quite a fascinating little adventure we had.

I’m more on the side of the new Doctor Who fan.
I was born at the end of the 80’s and grew up in the 90’s (I don’t think they ever made a 90’s Doctor Who, but I’m not sure. Either way, I didn’t watch it as a kid anyways).
But seeing all your comments makes we wanna watch the old ones =]
Dunno where I’m gonna watch them though. It seems almost impossible unless you’ve got a VHS.

XD But the old stuff is FANTASTIC and much better written. If you can get past the filler stuff. XD They tend to drag out the plots more, which can get a little dull. They never made a DW TV series in the 90's, but the TV movie came out in the mid-90's. :B

The only newer episode I've ever seen was the last bit of the last 9th doctor story. Hah, I think I'll stick to the 4th doctor thank you. Sorry, but one of the main reasons I like them are for the original and clever storylines. So when I saw the deus ex machina, I groaned. The fourth doctor was the one I grew up with. My parents used to watch the classic ones on TV ages ago, and the fourth doctor was their favorite, so he's the only "real" doctor for me. I think my favorite episode was The City of Death followed by Androids of Tara and The Pirate Planet. A while ago I saw the movie done after the book, The Prisoner of Zenda, and I laughed so hard because the Androids of Tara is a more complicated, sci-fi version of it. xd

And, if I remember rightly, you were engaged to be married during this 'fascinating little adventure'. confused Anyway. I absolutely love the classic series. I don't have a favourite Doctor though, as I like different aspects of each of them and go through obsessive phases. At the moment, the Third and Sixth are in front; before, it was the Fourth and Second. We only have a DVD player, so I envy those marvellous bargains previous posters are talking about. The cheapest Doctor Who DVDs I've bought were the movie at £9 and Timelash at £10... sad Does anyone listen to the Big Finish audios? They were what got me into DW in the first place, and I still think they're amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone who wanted Paul McGann to do a proper series, although Big Finish have also done Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctor audios (also fantastic!).
