I didn't know Kingsley played Ghandi. He played the Caterpillar in my favourite version of Alice In Wonderland though!

He was also in the Thunderbirds movie. But that was terrible. It was on TV today. Blurk. But I digress...

Oh, yes. He's the one who was in that big movie of Ghandi's life several years back. He was really good. I saw it recently on Turner Classic Movies.

Yeah, he won a Best Actor award for Gandhi. I wouldn't have known Kingsley's name if I hadn't read a review of some movie he was in a few years back called "Sexy Beast". Gandhi... peaceful resistance... sexy beast...

Anyway, Davros. Hmm. I guess The Sun must have gotten bored with more bogus rumors of Tennant's replacement.

According to Outpost Gallifrey, they're releasing Destiny of the Daleks on DVD, possibly as part of a Davros-themed boxed set. This would probably be the only new DVD released in the hypothetical set, since Genesis, Resurrection, and Remembrance have all been released already as singles.

Anyway, if true, this sort of lends credence to the idea that Davros is returning in series 4, since this year we had the Master-themed Keeper of Traken / Logopolis / Castrovalva set (plus Survival released on its own), and we all know who showed up at the end of series 3.

Still, would they really waste Kingsley playing someone like Davros? Actually, considering this is RTD we're talking about... yeah...

Depends on whether he thinks it would be fun to be a Who Monster, or if they are possibly re-imagining Davros & his story so he won't just be a ranting megalomaniac in tons of makeup who is falling to bits.

Lemur9
Davros sounds okay, but haven't they had enough of bringing back old villians by now? It'll be entertaining (but probably lame) if they do. Unless they do it REALLY well...

Look on wikipedia, they say that they're bringing back one "super villain" at a time(per series)
i hope they bring back The Rani!

Given that they've already said they're briniging back one villain per series, I doubt they'd do Davros. After all, we've already had the Dalek's big return, and... well, I don't know much about the original seires, but Davros isn't exacly a completely separate villain, is he? I'm hoping for something new.
And it's from the Sun, people.

Well you saw that hand at the end of season 3. That could be the Rani's hand and she could have done the same thing the Master did and his wife could have been the Rani. They didn't talk about his wife much during the third season.

Also source on the Davros rumor, preferable from the BBC.

Well it is possible the Sun got it right, after all they were 100% correct on the whole Series 3 Yana/Master storyline.

That was just a lucky guess. In general, stories in the Sun are about as accurate as me saying "The sky is green with pink dots".

People bash the tabloids a lot, but they actually get some major scoops every now and then. They revealed that Kyle Minogue was going to be in the next Christmas special, they got that the Daleks were going to be in the finales for both series 1 and 2, and that Simms would play the Master. And they were partially correct about Ageyma Freema leaving the show (though they claimed she was outright fired, which we now know not to be true, since she will eventually be back).

Then again, they get a lot of stuff wrong, too. Like the Rani being in series 3, or the various Tennant quitting rumors. So, yeah, you kind of have to take everything with a grain of salt.

The Ghandi film was on TV today. I just felt I had to say that...

Two new casting rumors have been made

Sylverster McCoy stated that: Peter Davison shall reprise his role as the Fifth Doctor -?

AND: Joan Collins shall play the Rani-Digital Spy

Niether of these have been confirmed

You know, as dumb as both of those rumors sound... at this point, I'd believe RTD would do it, just because he seems obsessed with stunt casting. Of course he's claimed in the past that he thought multi-Doctor stories were dumb, but then he also said he thought the Master was a crappy villain and he'd never bring him back... so, yeah... whatever, Russell. I'd think McGann or Eccleston would be better choices, McGann especially.

But this rumor comes from McCoy, who heard it from Peter Jackson, and I'm suspecting the Kiwi was having a bit of fun with the funny little Scot.

As for Joan Collins, she's pretty damn old. I don't believe it, unless she's just going to be the Rani for a bit, then croak and regenerate into someone younger. Hopefully Posh Spice. I'd love to send both her and Mr. Posh (that soccer player dude... Beckman or whatever) back to the UK where they belong.

Actually, I don't really hate either of them. They were pretty funny in that comic relief Ali G thing.
