When your entire family has gone through the band/guard. This is true of the Hagan family. The mother was the guard instructor for a while, her eldest daughter was also in the guard, her eldest son is the One-Man Drumline, the next daughter plays the sax/clarinet, one of the younger twins plays trumpet and the youngest girl is Future Flag Corps.

Oh geez, some of this is so me. I just joined this year and already I'm teaching our freshmen in Concert Band how to properly crash and play the marimba... I adore band! heart heart
Edit: I have some stuff to add!
-When you pick out every instrument you can hear in a song, including the different types of percussion -When you tap out the beat to your favorite songs on whatever is handy (my laptop suffers greatly under me....) -When you mark time to or conduct the song you are listening to (my mom hates this...)

-No matter what you are doing or where you're going you roll step. -You stay on step with those around you. -You starting tapping out a song and other line members join in exactly right and play until the end. -Always carrying at least 3 pairs of sticks around with you -You remember the entire show(marching and song) from freshman year -Always thinking that "this song could make a great cadence" (Like Du Hast) -Has marched all the drums -You find rythyms in the way people speak.
Sadly enough. I've done all these, and more.

- You could get an award for the most times told to calm down and be quiet in the band room.
- You begin to improvise a drum set part to a slow song. (ex: Amazing Grace)
- You've walked home with a pair of drum sticks and play every cadence your school has on anything in your way.
- You make sweet lurve to your drum. (Guilty. But my snare loves it!)
Just a few that I've done.

-your sibling(s) know the cadences because you sing them so often -when you walk, you somehow end up marching at 120, and start singing cadences -you like to be around your friends on the line more than your family -you play childish games and/or someone ends up getting dared to do something embarassing and you record it, and watch it over and over again (we made our leader run down the hallway screaming "i'm on fire!!", it's still a classic) -theres at least one person that bobs their head to everything

Hitokiri-Sirius Blue Water Fox When you get beat up by the Guard kids on a daily basis. If you've broken at least 20 sticks over the Guard kids's heads. When you've dated the entire Guard... all at the same time. When you walk in step to mall music. When you do a grand pliƩ in the middle of a hallway. When you go on to be the drummer in a band after high school (possibly college...) -coughcough- Bob Bryar -coughcough- There's more, I can't think of any. not for us. our guard is nasty :p serious? ours is hot...well, most of our band is lol.
