actually cheesecake is a custard and falling into the pie category. if you have food questions go to food network and to to the show good eats and Alton Brown answers them, lol heart

I think cheesecake is pie because if it was a cake, it would be lightweight and porous, like my homemade chocolate cake! blaugh So it must be pie, because everyone knows pies are heavier than cakes of the same size. 3nodding

It depends on what kind of pan you make it in. I've seen it as a Pie or a Cake and it's pretty darn good which ever way you have it! A favorite one of mine is pumpkin cheese cake wink
