[Ernie] God, I can't stand it when lifers compare their "fetus rights" activism to queer rights and civil rights. We have ACTUAL PEOPLE we're fighting for, and we're not trampling other peoples' rights in the process when we protest for marriage equality and equal treatment, assholes. And believe me, POC have suffered a thousand times more than a little fetus ever could, since they've been aware for the past couple centuries and all. Not to mention that homosexuals getting equal rights won't mean that straight people are denied the rights they once had.... Fetuses getting equal rights is fine with me - it still won't ban abortion. Pro-lifers request that fetuses get special privileges at the expense of women who are denied the rights they already have (bodily integrity). Homosexual marriage = equality Pro-life = fetal supremecy, sexist It's not a matter of them defending and getting equal rights for fetuses, but eliminating certain rights for women while granting fetuses special privileges.

Lady Adriata I loved that last wall of text posted about Fetal development.. From a freaking Christian University and citing a bunch of biased, Pro-Life links. rolleyes Get me some data from a group who objectively looks at both birth and fetal development from a NEUTRAL view, not one out to prove their "moral" points. Plus they were way out of date. The thing is, they don't want to trust our links, because our links support the choice of abortion. Pro-choice IS the neutral ground, you can't really be neutral unless you don't care. I'm more inclined to believe pro-choice links on the basis that they're for supporting ALL choices and therefore less likely to lie. Pro-life links disagree with and dislike abortion, so they've got more reason to lie. I don't really see what's difficult to understand about that.

Personally, I feel that sex should always lead to conception, the fact that it doesn't is a huge flaw in nature. I don't care what excuses you might make, but there is never ANY excuse for abortion. Those people are not pacifists, they are the pure essence of hypocrisy, they are usually the first to threaten all those who don't agree with them to death while claiming to be pro-life. I thought of a question to ask Pro-Lifers who claim that a fetus has the right to use your uterus simply because you created it..
If you, as a mother, had a son who tried to rape you, would you be expected to just sit there and let it happen since you had created him?
Same if one of your children attempted to kill you?
The argument that, well, then the children are in perfect awareness of what they do to violate your bodily integrity, doesn't really hold up to the same Pro-Life argument that fetuses are in fact sentient and can feel and think like humans.
