"Are you going to stay?" was all he could muster up in his mind, though in that simple phrase was a number of things, Hayate was basically saying it was okay, that it'd be okay, that he didn't want Janja to go away, that he wanted her to stay here, that he would stay with her, and the cubs.
That he would be the cubs father if she wanted.
"Will you?

Janja was still staring fixedly at the ground, wondering if Hayate would ever say anything and what he might say if he did, when he finally did speak up. What he asked and the tone of his voice were not at all what the lioness expected, and when he did she knew she shouldn't have expected anything else from Hayate.
"I guess so," she said, finally daring to look back up.

Hayate gave a smile and too a few steps forward, and gave her a gentle nuzzle on her cheek, even if she was here for a different reason, just being with her regardless felt so right. The future would be hard he knew, bt he would stay with her through it all, who knew, perhaps one day they would have cubs of their own, just them.
"I'll take care of you, and them, everyone, we'll be a family..."

Janja sighed when she saw Hayate smile and step closer, knowing now for sure that he wasn't upset with her, didn't think any less of her, but was there for her. She hadn't realized just how important his reaction was, and returned the nuzzle without hesitation. When he said he would take care of them all, she opened her mouth to argue that she couldn't do that to him- but when he said they would be a family, her mouth closed and she looked like she could cry.
"Y-you want to be a family?" Janja asked quietly, almost afraid to question it as if he might take it back or say he was kidding.

Hayate gave a small nod and purred deeply in his throat, not pulling away, not wanting to lose the connection both of them were having at that moment. "Yes, we'll be a family, we'll take care of the little buggers," he said with a smirk and a chuckle, he wondered what they would look like, no matter, they would still be his and Janja's regardless.
Regardless of everything and anything.
They would be a family, nothing could take that away.

It was as if Hayate made everything all better, it was more than Janja could have asked for- being a family, a whole family. She'd resigned herself to the idea that it would have to be just her and Jedi alone, and all of that was forgotten now. Speechless, the lioness said nothing but moved closer.
They would be a family, and that helped to clear up almost any worry she had about the whole situation (aside from telling her folks). She didn't even think to mention that Jedi was here with her, but she did realize that Hayate's family was still around. Would he just disappear like she did?
She rested her head against him, quite happy to stay where she was.
"What about your parents?" she asked after a few moments of content silence.

His parents? he hadn't seen them in ages and it was unfortunate, "They have other things to worry about," least he hoped so, Janja meant the world to him as his family did, but his family didn't need him now, Janja did, and here he would stay with her. "It'll be fine, don't worry Janja, everything will be fine," he said with a nod, taking a step back from her touch he gave her a goofy grin to try and help her laugh, and he took a few steps forward.
"Come on Janja, we have catching up to do."

Janja sighed, wondering if Hayate could really leave his parents the same way that she had left hers. But if he said not to worry, she wasn't going to worry. Her emotions were being too weird without her working herself up more.
"Ok," she whispered happily, and followed after him.
