I love all these characters, the only thing unappealing about the characters in FFXII are their voice actors (for most).
Larsa sounds like a 70 year old woman.
Vaan sounda like a ten year old boy.
And Fran... Fran sounds like a robot!
Ugghh they're sooo messed up!

I thought the accents fit everyone well, even if I didn't like them.
Balthier's voice actor's voice is frankly amazing. Did anybody else know he can sing as well?

ArikaiHart I thought the accents fit everyone well, even if I didn't like them. Balthier's voice actor's voice is frankly amazing. Did anybody else know he can sing as well? I know! I keep forgetting to look him up, though! >_< I swear I will. Any suggestions for favorite songs when I do?

He's got some song samples on his website, but it's not my type of music, so I can't recomend any. sweatdrop
I've decided that Balthier and Fran are two parts to one whole. The whole? Bugs Bunny (but like, the really old, really violent Bugs).

Balthier stole my heart a long time ago. But I also like Larsa, Basch, and Penelo. And someone else whom I can't remember. >.<

I like all of the main characters, and there are also a ton of interesting side characters. They just feel so realistic and complex, and I like how we're not told everything about them. I'll say what I like about each one.
Ashe -- a hardened, determined woman who wants to save her country. Ashe hates weakness, and is battling with that which is inside her. She wants to be a strong person, even though inside she's torn by indecision and doubt in her ability to lead. I admire her drive, however, even though I know her harsh personality is a result of her insecurities.
Balthier -- a man with a secret. I love how he's inscrutable and calm, and he has quite a way with words. I think he appreciates his freedoms more than anything else, although he can't escape from the impressions his past left on him.
Basch -- I admire his sense of honor and his kindness. He really is a great guy who's experienced some horrible situations. I like how he looks after Vaan and Penelo, and his relationships with Ashe, Vossler, and his brother are key to understanding him.
Vaan -- A little dense, but he really is a good kid. His interactions with Basch give him the most depth.
Penelo -- Although she doesn't have a big part, she has a great personality and is determined and caring. She's also a little playful and curious about the world around her.
Fran -- Mysterious and confident, she's a viera who wanted to go out and explore the world instead of staying with the sheltered and traditional lifestyle of her people. She's also kind at heart.
Vossler -- a fallen knight. He's not a bad person, he just made some bad choices. But he truly does care for Ashe and for his country.
Larsa -- an idealistic boy who wants to fight the expectations of his family and his people.
Drace -- a judge who cares for the honor and fairness that they are supposed to stand for. She's a great example of a strong character.

Balthier is like, the perfect role, aside from Auron, Jecht, and Cloud he is my fav. his accent, the "leader" mentality, the "ima kick u butt and look good doing it", plus his gun fire thing its awesome, its just like F U! *fire* lol

You know, I think Balthier may upset Vincent's throne as most loved / fangirl'd-over character in Final Fantasy.
He is pretty freaking awesome, though.
