It was good that Safi had wanted to see him again. He was still afraid that after that long the other stallion would have realized how much trouble he was and given up ideas of being friends.
"He's ... he'd probably be nice if he hadn't scared me. He just came running toward me and i got scared." So he'd done the smart thing and darted back the way the 'predator' had run so that he could get a head start. It hadn't worked as well as he'd hoped but at least he hadn't really been in danger.
"You probably had things to do .... i can't keep your attention for ever"

"Yeah, as long as you don't try to touch him or 'threaten' me, he's a decent enough fellow. But like I said last time, having a familiar around has it's perks. Look at me, I managed to get my familiar to bring me a friend!"
The teasing grin Safi flashed Wadi was meant to accomplish a few purposes; to set the other stallion at ease, to get him to see the humor of the situation, and to see that there was nothing to be worried about. Wadi might be naturally jumpy, but he didn't have to be that way ALL the time.
Though they had to do something about the trend towards self-deprecation that seemed to dog Wadi's words. Tsking, Safi stepped up to face his friend, then reached out and placed a wing on each of Wadi's cheeks, holding his gaze firmly on Safi's own. "Mental exercise time, so repeat after me: I am important."

"Yea ... he sorta did even if it was unintended." He scrunched his nose for a moment at the idea. If Cedri hadn't come out of the trees then he might have walked right past Safi and never known.
He jumped slightly when the other stallions wings touched him but managed to keep himself from doing so too bad. "I-I know ... you said so last time.."
But Safi had to have other people he would want to see. "But you've got family and friends ... and you can't want to spend all your time with me. I"m not -that- important."
Safi's kids probably were.

"Wrong answer, try again. I want to hear you repeat what I'm saying, word for word, Wadi, so...I AM IMPORTANT." Grinning, Safi maintained his hold on Wadi's face, the touch firm enough to hopefully keep Wadi from getting away, should he take it into his head to try. But somehow...Safi thought he'd hold still. "I am important, interesting, and it makes perfect sense for someone to want to spend time with me."
That was a good start, no? Ignore the negativity, focus on the positive! "And you don't have to repeat THIS, but you're not going anywhere until you cooperate, Wadi." This with an attempted serious look, marred by a grin. "And I'm totally serious, believe it or not."

"But i'm not important enough for you to want to spend all your time with me!" He got what the other was saying but he still had a point. Safi had told him last time that he was interesting and he guessed he agreed since the other did want to be his friend. He just knew that Safi wouldn't want to be around him all the time.
"Even Mama and Dah don't spend all their time together. No one wants ta do that." He wiggled slightly and tried not to get tickled by the feathers. Safi wouldn't take him seriously if he started laughing.

"You're still not repeating!" Tsking, Safi tapped Wadi on the nose with the near feathers on one wing, still keeping a good grip on the other stallion. "Who said anything about all the time, anyway? Always and forever at the side of another might get a bit dull, but we're not talking about being siamese twins. At least, I'm not; I'm just talking about enjoying each others' company, because I DO enjoy your company, Wadi; I told you that. But YOU are being difficult."
Grinning, he whuffed slightly to clear his throat, then, once again, said, "Repeat after me: I am important. I am interesting. I am sexy." He couldn't resist throwing in that last one. "It makes sense for others to want to be with me. And I will nto be so negative all the time."

He scrunched his nose and huffed at the other stallion. "I'm important and interesting and it makes sense for others to want to spend time with me and i'm not negative all the time..."
He tried to get his head out of the other's grasp. "But i'm not sexy... I don't think i wanna be anyway." He didn't want that kind of attention. The rest of his family could have it, he'd rather be unnoticed and have to worry about someone chasing after him like he'd heard his uncles talk about.

It wasn't everything, but it was enough. Chuckling, Safi released Wadi's head, giving the other stallion a pat on the cheek as he did so. "There, that wasn't so hard, was it? I wouldn't be here talking to you if I didn't want to be, honest. And you are very much interesting and important and all that jazz. Sexy, too, but we can leave debate on that for another time."
So saying, he stepped back from Wadi, a pleased grin on his face at having accomplished his goal. But there was no sense in gloating about the obvious any more than neseccary... "So, how've you been, Wadi?"

He wanted to argue the sexy part but Safi said he could do it later. He'd remember that. Tossing his head to try to get some of his hair out of his face he grinned at the other.
"Good .. i got to visit with the family. Everyone was there except for Sedi but Dah says he's probably getting himself into more trouble so that he has something to talk about next time he comes home." His uncle was like that. "Did..did you get to see your family?"

Sedi...had that name come up last time? Cocking his head to the side, Safi pondered for a few moments before deciding that Sedi must have been one of the uncles; it was a big family, so there had to be plenty of uncles. Dodger and Sedi...that sounded right, right? "Well, if only one family member was all you were missing, sounds like you had a nice time of it, and a good family visit! I caught up with some of my herdmates and got to spend time with my daughter. But all good things must end, and it was time for me to mosey, as it also seems you decided."
Grinning, Safi inclined his head at Wadi, shifting to rest his wings on the back of his head as he spoke. "It's nice to see everyone, especially when you're scattered, but you know what they say about abscences. I need to wander around for a while longer, and maybe I'll even manage to find my son...assuming he hasn't gotten stuck in a tree or something."

"Soquili can't get in trees." The idea was absurd. Well unless it was something really weird but he'd never met a really weird one so there.
"It was nice. They though it was weird that i'd want to leave even though i told them i just wanted to find you." Dodger had poked fun at him before telling him to be careful.

"They can if they have wings, moreso if they have horns, definitely if they fly into a tree and get their horn stuck. Never rule out the possibilities, Wadi, or you'll end up being even more surprised." Not that there was anything wrong with surprises, but sometimes they weren't appreciated.
The comment about Wadi's leaving attracted his interest, though. "Oh?" That sounded like it had a story. "Is you desiring to go out that strange?

"Well i'd hope that if you got stuck in a tree you'd know how to get out. Or you wouldn't get up there in the first place..." It didn't sound at all fun and he defiantly wouldn't want to get stuck up there. It seemed awkward and painful and not something he'd be interested in at all.
"Well i mean ..." He kicked at the dirt a little. "I'm jumpy, so i don't leave home a lot." Usually because he only got so far before he freaked out. "We weren't far from my home when you found me the first time remember?"

"You'd like to think that, but it's amazing what people can manage." Grinning, Safi shrugged his shoulders at the other stallion, a clear 'que sera sera' air about his person. But that was a minor point.
"So you're branching out. And why not, considering how charismatic and generally pleasant I myself am? I'd leave home to talk to me were I not always with me." A nice bit of circular ramblings, there. "Regardless, I'm touched, honestly I am. And look at what you've braved on my account; a homicidal fox and who knows how many other things! Very noble."

He had to laugh at Safi's circular rambling. It was funny to thing about that even if he wasn't sure it worked the same way for him. He didn't think he'd want to spend all the time with himself if he wasn't himself.
"Cedri, that's his name right? was the sixth thing to almost scare me out of my skin." He grinned sheepishly. "I think he was the worst though ... the rest of them didn't chase after me"
