Malika nodded. "I didn't know him too well but I knew him..." She stated a shudder running down her spine. "He didn't do it. Another lion...a lion with a salmon stripe running down his back did. He did it to everyone..." She swallowed as she answered him. "I'll tell you all that I know..." She was finding it hard to speak, all her memories rushing by.
"I didn't see him very often, he was always out with.....Nyekundu...but he seemed rather nice." Her minds was ticking trying to pick pieces of the black and white lion from her memory. "I think he was a....general or something for the cursed king. He also seemed to serve Afritti, Nyek's first born daughter..." Her voice trailed slightly and she looked pained whenever she said the salmon lion's name. "He helped me move my cubs....other than that I don't know much about him..." She let out a sigh and looked over at the lighting marked male. "I'm sorry, I wish I could offer you more..."

It pained Sekizen that memories of hers pained her. Something bad must have happened to her, or so he imagined. He nodded silently, not knowing whether or not repeating anything she said would cause her more pain.
"That's plenty of information," He said after mulling over her words. "More than I ever would have known alone. Thank you," He said. So his father wasn't some sort of murderer. That was at the very least comforting.
"It means a lot to me," the male said, hoping it would pull Malika out of the slump she just seemed to fall in to. He shot her a smile.

Her violet colored eyes looked up at him with some sadness but most of it was vanishing. "I'm glad that I could help..." She replied her tail flicking behind her. It did relieve her to see that she was helpful. It helped wipe away her bad feelings. She did wish that she knew more, but it couldn't be helped, not now.
She then wanted to change the subject, she needed something that would get her mind off of the place she had finally left behind. "What are your siblings like?" She inquired eager to know more about the kind male. She then returned his smile with a soft one of her own.

"My siblings," Sekizen chuckled. "My brother, Nariko, he's getting involved with a royal's daughter. It sure makes things interesting around the den. I've got two sisters, the rest of my siblings are males. There's Shin and Mvua. Shin's looks a lot like Nariko, and Mvua always has reminded me of a rock- that's what he looks like. My sisters are just crazy, but a little crazy's good sometimes, I guess," Sekizen said pondering whether it really was good. "We're a bit of an odd bunch. My mother's name is Tufani, she looks like me but inverse colors and has no splotchy paw. She lives with our 'grandma.' She's a jackal, so she's not really our grandma, but she acts like it."
"I always was a bit different than them, though. I've always been quieter, more pensive," He said with a smile. It was good to see she was already feeling better.

The pale female listened rather intently to his words. "They sound nice." She commented in a dreamy tone of voice. A light laugh escaped her when he called his sisters crazy. "Crazy's a good thing, in my opinion, or rather it can be depending on the type of crazy." She had seen many types of crazy and some were rather amusing and wasn't harmful at all. "As long as it doesn't bring about pain or misfortunte then I consider the crazy good." She shrugged lightly. "It might just be me though." She then laughed lightly again. "Your 'grandmother' sounds interesting."
Then he talked about himself which made her tilt her head. "Being different is good though, if everyone was the same the world would be boring."

Sekizen nodded, "They're a good kind of crazy." He hadn't ever met anyone who was truly crazy, but... he wasn't entirely sure he'd want to. He shook the thought from his head, displeased with what he would do in the situation. (He was completely uncertain.)
"I'm sure it's not bad, being different," he said, not believing the words came out of his mouth. All of his life, he always thought difference was bad, horrible, evil. That recurring nightmare of his always had proved it to his cub-self. Purple grass, and everything was perfect in that liquid-laughter paradise. Perfect, until he found that patch of different grass. Grass the same color as his emerald eyes... He shuddered as he remembered it- how many times had his dream-self been engulfed in that darkness? He shook his head, glad that the nightmare had been constantly becoming more and more scarce.
"It's getting dark out, do you have a place to stay?" He was getting tired, too. He'd been out all day, and had been living on rabbits- not exactly the best diet. "If you don't, I was planning on spending the night under that overhang over there," He said, jerking his head towards the dent in the earth. "I'm sure we could both fit in there." Under his fur, he blushed at what he had just insinuated.

"That's good." Malika replied to him. She herself had never met anyone 'crazy' but had been for a time violent and ready to strike anything that came to close or gave a threatening vibe to her. It wasn't something she was proud of, not in the least but it was something that had happened and made her even more glad that she back to her normal self even with the slight changes. Such as her not-as-trusting-towards-males thing, although Sekizen seemed nice enough to trust.
"Some may see it as bad, but I like seeing the differences in others, it makes life so much more interesting and unpredictable." Malika told him thoughtfully glancing up to the darkening sky as she spoke. "I think it's the differences in others makes what's to come so much more interesting. Because then you never know what's going to happen no matter how much you think you do." She then shook her head. "I must sound foolish....I'm sorry. Sometimes I just get caught up in what I'm saying."
The lioness then looked down at Sekizen when he asked her a question. "Ah. I don't have a place to stay....but you don't have to worry about me." She told him quickly before she had heard his offer. "Oh..uh..well...if you want me to I'll join you." She also blushed in slight embarrassment.

He shot her a smile. "It's a long way to go tomorrow, I'm going to start resting. I've been living off rabbits for a long time." He hoped she would understand. It had been a while since he had a good chance to recharge. He headed towards the overhang, ducked under it, and found that it was pleasantly larger than he had thought. He went to the right of the cave and curled up against the wall.

Malika nodded and smiled at him. "Alright, I'm going to stay up just a little bit longer. Sleep well." She told him softly as she took a seat next to the water's edge. Her violet eyes watched him leave and followed him up to the cave. When he laid down and curled up she looked away.
Her gaze settled on her reflection in the water. She studied it in silence, just staring at it. She was no longer smiling nor was she frowning, she was sitting there almost emotionless. Then suddenly she swiped a paw at the water disrupting the water's still surface. She pulled her now wet paw from the water and turned away, looking up to the moon that had just shown itself. A light smile appeared on her maw as she trotted towards the cave.

Sekizen closed his eyes while the lioness lingered outside, and was almost asleep when she came in. He woke and drowzily made room, curling tighter into a ball. "Good night, Malika," He yawned, laying his head back onto his paws and falling asleep.

"Good night Sekizen." Malika whispered as to not wake him before she settled to her belly, not to far away from him, but leaving a space, although small, between them. She laid her head on her paws and closed her eyes letting herself drift slowly into sleep.
