Crabs.

Huh...

For some reason, the idea of such a creature existing, made Misae smile; she would've laughed, but somehow, she thought he might take offense in her voicing out the fact she was amused. Thus so, she politely smiled up at him; the laughter was there though, ringing in her red hued eyes before she addressed her father. Even his rhetorical question was answered with a nod of her own.

Despite her innocence, the pale lioness understood that something was going on between both males. Something of great importance. That much was clear by their body language and the way they were talking; it was almost as if both of them were sizing up each other's words, thinking them over before voicing them. There was tension too; she could practically feel it around them, and for some reason, it warmed her, rather than setting her on edge.

A sigh escaped her throat then, her gaze raising up from the males to the sky; perhaps she really WAS crazy. Perhaps she wasn't all that right up in her head. Whom would gain warmth from tension? She wasn't all too sure she wanted to know the answer to her own questions, and suddenly found herself chuckling lightly, standing up before she brushed her side against her father's, "I like this place," she said for both to hear, "The wind... feels different here. It feels right," and this said, she sprung forth and past Hadithi, brushing slightly against him too, however, the brush was fleeting and barely even there. Almost teasing.

She paused at the border of the cliff and motioned to the ocean, "I want to hear the winds as the blow over the waters; I bet the carry stories from even further away than those I've heard already," the question was voiced silently.

Can we stay for a bit? I like it here.

Somehow she felt that those were the words that needed to be said.

"The wind may blow stories, or our friend may tell them," Nyota'visima replied slowly. There was the slightest insult there, directed towards Hadithi, if only to see whether or not he got it--and if he did, how he would react.

Nyota didn't like the teasing little brush his daughter had given the other male; he didn't think she knew how to flirt but she was coming to the age of being 'interesting' to other males. It wasn't something Nyota was comfortable with, no matter that his rational mind said that acting that way was silly. Misae would grow up at some point, she had to... and that was a part of growing up; not everyone was a confirmed old bachelor like himself.

His mind wandered back to a similarly coloured female, older than his daughter, whom they had just left behind a few days before. Nyota forced himself not to scowl; perhaps not so confirmed as he would like to think.

"Both," Hadithi smiled at Nyota, acting as if he hadn't the foggiest idea that this male didn't care for him. In truth, there was a tangible tension in the air that even his happy was penetrated by, but one that he ignored as being natural. He had seen his uncles act this way with his older cousins back in the day; even the nicest of males got touchy where their daughters were concerned.

Hadithi didn't have any designs on Misae, but there would be no convincing Nyota of that. Even so, Hadithi thought it best to watch his step were this were concerned, especially as he wanted Misae to stay, and badly. "There are many stories to tell and many songs to sing which the Ocean has given us.. and perhaps some of your own to add?"

Nyota knew from the way they were talking that he and Misae would be here for some time yet. Even though she was only asking him for it, silently, they both knew what the answer was going to be. Nyota had rarely refused a request from his beloved little girl, mainly because there weren't many that she asked. He gave her the slightest nod when she looked at him, to tell her that it was alright.

Her father's agreement to stay was a relief; not that she'd doubted what his answer was going to be in the first place, however... the lioness let out a sigh she'd hardly known she'd been holding in. This done, she turned to grant her father a smile; it was that special smile she reserved for him, it was a phantom of that first one he'd been granted the day they'd met. Tell truth, had Nyota told her that no, they would, or could not stay, Misae would have not argued against him.

She was known for asking for little, perhaps due to the upbringing she'd had in the Oasis. She'd been a princess, yes, but the number of 'princesses' there had left it clear to her that she was one of many, and that she'd never be in a position to demand anything from anyone. Royal blood did not define others. She was still plainly aware of the tension around them, but she did not truly mind it; in her mind it was a clear sign that her father cared for her, and that feeling was treasured deep down in her heart. She'd been unloved, and unwanted for so long before meeting Nyota that such displays only served to make her love him all the more.

His near-scowl was not missed however, and idly, she wondered what he was thinking about; she was innocent, yes, but instinct had not let her miss the way he'd been looking at Tsi'hilu Waya, not long ago. Somehow, she was sure she was crossing his thoughts at that moment; that scowl seemed to show whenever she brought up how comfortable they'd felt in the Ela lands.

Something told Misae that her father was perhaps scared. Call it female instinct, call it whatever, but Misae was sure he was almost terrified by the idea that perhaps he'd come to care about someone. He'd seen that scowl long ago, when she'd first met him too; she'd seen him fight against her... fight against the idea of getting near her. She'd won that battle; the display she was watching was a clear indication of this.

"There are many stories to tell and many songs to sing which the Ocean has given us.. and perhaps some of your own to add?"

Instantly her ears perked up at the words, her gaze tearing away from her father's form and landing on Hadithi's form, "I know some songs!" the words were excited as she turned away from the edge of the cliff and sat down elegantly on the edge, her tail neatly curled around her form. No sooner had she done this, that she opened her maw and begun to sing; the song was cheerful, childish, unattractive in the sense it was no where near seductive. In fact, it seemed to display her almost hyper-like nature as she sang along, her paw moving in the air as she moved her head to the rhythm.

Despite the child like qualities of the song, the lioness' voice was musical; she had talent for this. Something her father would have probably never been able to know, mostly due to the fact... she'd never truthfully sung out loud for him. True, she could be heard humming often, and she's sung when she thought she was alone, however, never had she dedicated a song to anyone in particular. When she was small, she'd allow the wind to whisper songs to her at night; songs she'd later sing to herself as lullabies. It seemed as if the practice of long had paid off.

There was a touch of definate surprise on Nyota's face as his daughter began to sing. He'd never thought the girl without talents, but this hadn't been among them. Rather than focus on the strange male's words or phrasing, of which there was something bothering Nyota but he couldn't quite place what, his attention went to his daughter's voice. At once he was proud and a little ashamed at himself for not having known. True, the girl had hummed on-key a few times, but neither of them had ever truly sung... it just wasn't something Nyota did often, despite his true love of poetry and other arts.

Beside him, Hadithi grinned his vaguely idiotic grin of sheer happiness. The poor thing truly looked like an idiot, especially when he flopped down onto his stomach to gaze adoringly up at Misae. This girl was more than he could have ever dreamed up or hoped to find; beautiful, fun, she heard the muses and she could sing like the Wind itself. No matter how childish the song, the voice still rung pure and true and Hadithi knew himself to consider her family already, no matter that she had not offered herself to the group. One day, he hoped... one day.
