[Seeing as I can't really start from the "Good News" bit, I'll start from Elphaba's entrance at Shiz.]
The walls of her new school were almost completely draped in a very waxy, green ivy. Elphaba smiled somewhat because of this. "Perhaps I could blend in a bit better than I had planned" she mused. The chattering and giggles of the various other students buzzed in her ears, and she closed her eyes for a few seconds to try and compose herself. How would educated, intellectual people respond to her...abnormality? She prayed to whatever god chose to listen that perhaps the students of such a grand place would be more accepting.
Such was not the case, she learned, as several students gasped as she walked out of the shadows her carriage was casting. She grimaced, squeezing her eyes shut again, but not before she could see a girl's knees giving out at the very sight of her. "Ignore them...ignore them...IGNORE THEM..." her mantra did nothing to keep her cheeks from burning a weird shade of pinkish-green. Of course she was used to this, but it was always a humiliating ordeal. She chose to dash beneath a tree, seeking comfort with a similarly shaded object. It was evident that Shiz was going to be no different than any other place in Oz.
