Purchase RP

.. So, it was safe to say, this wasn't actually a candy store, although it's shelves did hold a number of vials filled with things that smelled an awful lot like candy. It hadn't taken her all that long to figure that out, and the fact that she was still in the store was more because she was having a hard time just admitting the mistake and leaving, and really, looking through the shelves was better than wandering around slightly lost and entirely bored.

It didn't take to long before she found herself amused by the names of some of the oils and the sheer variety the store seemed to cover. Well, she supposed she could just buy a couple since she was here.

After taking a quick glance at the woman who had been standing behind the counter the whole time, doing something that was probably tedious and way to boring for Rayne to really care about, she turned back to the shelf and selected two of the small vials, one a pink-ish red boasting the name 'Strawberry Gashes' and the other a vivid green that claimed it was 'Absinthe'. The names seemed promising as far as she was concerned, and both made her giggle softly.

Going up to the counter, she paid for them quickly, hardly paying the brunette working the register any mind now that she actually had something to entertain herself with for a bit. Hopefully she'd be able to locate the candy store on the way home.

Lighting Prompt (Required to reach Lit Scent stage)
You have just purchased an oil burner and a specific scented oil from the Solace Scents shop and you can't wait to light it! Now that you're home, it's time to find the perfect place to light that scent! However, strange things seem to happen when you do... particularly with the smoke...

..The door slamming behind her with a satisfyingly loud noise, Vivica threw herself down on her bed, her backpack skidding across her floor from the momentum as she let it go and disappearing somewhere near her desk. Couldn't her mother ever be happy with the fact she tried? So what if she wasn't the best student, a 'C' was still passing and she could still graduate with it. But no, her mom wanted her to get an 'A' in every single subject.

Pushing her head farther into the soft material of her pillow, she let the sense of asphyxiation comfort her nerves before finally turning onto her side with a groan. After a moment more of wallowing in her misery, she finally flopped one arm over the edge of the bed and groped about for her backpack; a task she soon deemed near impossible without stirring farther and so with great reluctance she rolled onto her stomach to glance around her floor for the fallen bag.

She soon spotted it wedged into the side of a pile of clothing she had deposited in a similar manner across the room and slightly underneath her very seldom used desk. Giving another noise of frustrated protest, she heaved herself up off the mattress and half rolled, half stood to land on her hands and feet and crawl over the neglected vehicle.

As her hand closed around the top strap, she used the grip to none to gently drag the bag towards her, not caring if the things inside were damaged in the process; a choice she soon regretted as the bag rolled slightly and she heard the soft sound of glass sounding a little less whole than it should. With hurried fingers, she grasped the zippers that held the bag closed and yanked them opening, wincing as the small, wrapped package slipped free and fell onto the floor with another soft tinkle.

Gingerly, she scooped the parcel up and studied it for a moment before beginning to undo the careful, protective wrappings that held it all together and revealing the contents. Soon enough, she breathed a sigh of relief as she found the small vial of oil still intact within its papery cocoon. Closer inspection of the other articles inside showed that the chipping sound must have been the small dish intended to sit inside the holder and hold the oil as it warmed as the small dish now sported some small pieces missing from one side, not enough to warrant throwing it away but enough to make it look a bit less perfect than before.

Standing from her crouched position on the floor, she looked around her to find a place to set up the little stand and set the oil to heating before moving forward and haphazardly shoving some of her desks contents to one side and setting the little stand there, with it dish set on top and the accompanying tea light candle set in the base. Pulling the stopper from the oil vial, she poured it in while her other hand groped about in a drawer for a container of matches or something.

Having secured the matches, she pulled one out to try and light the candle, the first few tries ending in failure before the small candle flared to life to begin its duty of heating the oil. Watching it for a moment, she absentmindedly sniffed at the small vial she still held in one hand, finding the slightly bitter edge to the normally sweet scent enticing.

It wasn't long before her eyes drifted over to the oil again, and she found herself staring at the patterns the smoke seemed to be forming. It looked almost like a skull, the representation close enough to make her blow nervously at it, hoping to dissipate the disturbing image only to have it return, a little clearer now. Watching for a few more moments, she shook her head before turning and returning to her bed, trying to clear the odd sensation that something was not right from her mind.

"I must be going insane..."

((Sorry this isn't the best and it makes next to no sense, I'll try to do better in the future >: ))

Awakening Prompt (Required To Reach Child stage)

Having run into your last ounce of oil, you mournfully place it into it's burner and light it, letting the aroma spread throughout your home happily.

------
[For Those Who Want To RP Witnessing The Event]

You leave for a moment, deciding you felt peckish after smelling something so wonderful, and grabbed a snack from your kitchen. When you return you witness something absolutely amazing. The end result of the incident being a child on the floor of the room. Describe the sight, and the reactions of both you and the child at the end of it all.
------
[For Those Who Want To RP Finding The Child Only]

Having remembered something you needed to do, you ran out of your home quickly, forgetting all about the burning oils inside. You return content, having completed your task only to find a small child wandering the halls of your home, leaving oily foot steps behind, leading to a cracked burner, and split candle wax. Describe your reaction, and how you deal with the oil tracking child.

..A soft growl of frustration sounded as Vivica fumbled with the keys to her house, pushing her backpack back up and onto her left shoulder so that her right hand was free to mess with the meddlesome lock that kept her from opening the door. After shoving the fourth key into the lock, she was greeted with a much welcomed click of the lock releasing and she quickly reached to turn the handle even as she yanked the key from the confines of the lock.

Slamming the door open, she dropped her backpack down nearby and rolled her shoulders before heading off towards the kitchen to get a bite to eat. The strong, familiar scent of strawberries did little to assuage her hunger; her stomach growing more ferocious in it's demands as if recognizing the scent as one often associated with some sort of food.

It took only a few minutes of burrowing through the fridge to find something that sounded good to eat, and she eagerly snagged the left over pasta she had located and moved down the counter to jam the small container in the microwave.

After dialing the correct buttons to get the device to start, she turned to go get silverware when something caught her eye and made her stop in her tracks; there were patches of pinkish fluid on the ground, vaguely foot-shaped, but small like a child's. The only problem was, no children lived here, much less ones that would be tracking about oil of any sort.

Kneeling next to the closest spot, she studied it a moment, sniffing cautiously before noting that it was the source of the slight strawberry scent she had noted when she came in. The very familiar scent of that oil she had bought at that weird store.

She rolled back on her heels and thought for a moment, trying to remember what it was she had done with that oil, before remembering with a start that she had left it burning that morning in her mad dash to not be late to school.

Okay, that was one mystery down; now to track down whatever was causing the mess (she could clean it later or something; if she remembered). Getting to her feet again she followed in the general direction she thought it was going, being the only way out of the kitchen and into the rest of the house.

After a few minutes of searching about, a tell-tale crash sounded in the dining room she had just passed out of and she found herself whirling around on her heel hard enough to make her head spin, but in time to see a blur of black streaking off into the next room.

Taking a moment to regain her balance, she took off in pursuit, just to round the corner and nearly fall flat on her face because of the small girl who was stopped in the middle of the hall, just staring at her. The girl most definitely smelled of the same strawberry as the oil that covered the house, and she had the creepiest red eyes Vivica had ever seen.

"Er... s**t?"
