He scoffed and let him go, patting his head lightly.
"Well, if it is a matter of food, we should eat a lot before your parents go to sleep. Then we can take off, we just have to make sure that the leopard and your siblings aren't doing anything like ratting us out to her. We can't have her chase us too early or we may be caught," his head lifted and shook out his fur. He had almost forgotten how long it has been since he had last seen his family, most of all, the scent they all carried. He vaguely recalled some, most dominately, Agizo, Jamaa, Temari, and his two older brothers. He sighed and nudged the cub.
"If we can find a Goddess, I am blind you are the lucky one who gets to see her."

Fenris nodded. Yes, everything was coming together all at once. Usiku wanted out, Fen wanted out, Ryega wanted out, and all were getting their opportunities at the same time. Sukari was growing careless with her "slaves," not really paying full attention anymore. Usiku, though he'd always gotten plenty of free space, was getting more and more each day. He had a plan already...
It was their turn to make a move. And move they would. Fen never had been one to sit still.
He smiled at the idea that Ryega seemed to agree. A goddess or a god was definitely the way to go, in his mind. "I'm sure your sense of smell is better than mine, and my sense of smell is better than my vision, so it'll be you who really gets to 'see' it." Fen said with a smile to his friend. "We'll leave soon. Mom'll never know what hit her," Fen said, fixing his eyes on the horizon.
She'll not have a clue, he thought to himself.
"I'd better get going though, don't want her getting upset or catching on," He said, tapping Ryega's paw to let him know where Fen was. "We'll talk more about it soon enough!" the cub said before turning and running off towards his den. Later on he would crush some red flowers and paint himself a mark that looked like his mother's scar. She always paid closer attention to that one than to any other. She always told him it reminded her of how she should be.
He never guesed she remembered it, for all the times she ran her paw over it. He would paint it to remind him of this: never be like mother.
