(I'll leave Private there as it is the 'default', though I'm hoping to put him in as a Captain. If that's not acceptable, I can alter things to fit accordingly! Just shoot me a reply / pm / anything.


Personality: He's laid back except when it comes time to put in the extra work. His job is also his hobby, and he takes great pride in making sure that it gets done well. In the fighter hangar, he's a streak of whizzing and clicking, a blur of welding and connecting, but as soon as he walks out of those doors he is perhaps one of the most laid-back, easy-going captains on the ship-- His records say as much, with as many times as he's been scolded for minor procedural technicalities. Thankfully, his efficiency at his job is enough to overlook his flaws, and Roger does his best not to step too heavily on superior's toes.

Likes: Irritating those who adhere to rules like white to rice, decent tools, people who know how to take it easy once in a while.

Dislikes: Superior officers who clash with his personality, pilots who beat the unholy crap out of their fighters, oranges, Plasticon(tm), the planet Mars

Goals: What do all men want? Money, women, glory! Well, sort of. He's not too worried about money, being in the military in a cozy engineering position. Most women on the ship just irk him for wielding protocal like a melee weapon, and he's usually too caught up in some project or another to take much interest in those who aren't. While he's dated a few women off and on through the years, none of them currently serve aboard the Battle Hymn, so he hasn't troubled himself too much with females. As for glory... Well, any position that makes him look cool and still lets him work in the hangar bay is fine with him. No fancy-shmancy Officer position would be worth it if he had to simply sit at a desk, hands bereft of tools.

-History
Short History: His parents both served in the military before him, and so he spent a lot of time in a family style that promoted to-the-letter following of the rules. Having lost his mother at the age of 9, however, he and his father were forced to go through many changes. His father began slipping into the bottle whenever he could, and his son, Roger, began taking over any work that he could. His father passed away when Roger was 15, ironically of liver disease. Roger used his father's contacts to get himself a position in the backlines of the war that had been going on for years now. His handiwork with a wrench and torch earned him a few friends as he worked his way through the various basic academies, which he passed with flying colours due to his prior experience. The brass noticed this, and set him to work with countless others on a new project they had begun developing, with more than enough building to go around for everyone.

Now, at the age of 23, Roger is serving aboard that very project, the Battle Hymn. He knows the ins and outs of a decent portion of the ship, but his specialty is the hangar bay. Fighters coming in and going out receive his skilled hand at repairs and maintenance. He's even been scolded twice by some of the top officers for modifying fighters in ways that, according to him, improved the ship's performance by at least 25% all around. However, the rules and protocol were there to slap him in the face. Some of the Engineering Officers noticed this and promoted him to Captain, where he'd have a bit more freedom to experiment (within controlled climates, however.) while still doing the much-needed repair work on the hundreds of fighters the Battle Hymn supports.


Appearance: He is well-muscled from his work, but is hardly comparable to a marine or body builder. Short brown hair is slicked back most of the time, and light blue eyes give him an empathic look. A bit of fur on his face and a warm smile almost seem awkward amongst the focused and tired of the ship's crew. He's not the most nimble or dexterous of men, but whatever he can't do, tools probably can.

Distinguishing characteristics: His loose adherence to the rules, at best, may draw attention from some. He is often sporting a hip new grease stain or oil splotch, which some of his co-workers think go lovely with his eyes. It's not his fault the superiors think it crude!

Arugala, it's a Decent Bio, it has a few spelling mistakes though, which need to be adressed (I'm really picky, sorry) also, what is the "black ear-length" thingy? Other than that, I like the character, good job.
