Haku skipped past the doors of the Hall, stopping several steps in, her head again tilted slightly to the side, voice almost like a small child's. "The dust on the road sings prettily of the Inkwell. Have care, Little Brush, for surely the Fallen Rain cannot disturb your paintings so? Inkwell has a few drops of color that belong to the Fallen Rain, after all, and if Ink had not already mixed too much with the cold, cold water, the Fallen Rain thinks that Ink and the stained silk cracking would be the same... No?"

Dust? Color?Gahou frowned as one side contemplated her words, confused by some, both sides of his mind trying to figure out just what was going on. She tells Genkei not to fight her, for some reason... the rest sounds like gibberish to me...WeI haven't animated anything large, yet, and letting too much chakra loose in here...could be dangerous, with so many paintings about. WeI have no familiarity with any of these pieces, yet, either, and what was it she said about me-us having something of hers? But will weI need to fight her? What is she here for?
Haku smirked, and pulled a spare mask from one of her pockets, slowly, so as to not appear suddenly threatening, with one hand, as the other dropped her scarf to the floor, replacing it with her mask. She giggled, and then the sound around her seemed to be absorbed, as she stood very still, the watchfulness of an Oinin settling about her like a secure cloak. The moment broke as she tilted her head to the side inquisitively, "See clearly now? The Rain isn't gone yet, though it fell long ago."
Gahou stared at her, one side gawping in shock, as the other recovered much more quickly and immediately pulled a scrap of paper from one of his own pockets, snatching one of the brushes that he had not yet cleaned from its place. After a few short brush strokes, he blew on the ink, then folded the paper into a hummingbird swiftly, borrowing the other side's hand to do so as Haku simply looked on. A handsign later, and the hummingbird was in the air, passing Haku's ear as it exited the building, to which Haku did nothing, appearing to be unconcerned with the fact that her presence might be let known to the others in the village. When both sides of Gahou had recovered from their shock, he moved his arm violently, in a snapping motion, and his standard Sumi no Muchi was formed as he continued to stare at her warily.

Kurome dashed through the entrance to the Art Hall, a curse on her lips and the halves of her naginata already swinging together to make a single weapon. She continued with her momentum sweeping the pole-arm through the middle of the unknown nin standing before her.

Same appeared inside the Hall, having been ordered to follow Kurome after the Mizukage saw her odd behavior. The large and quite tall fish-man crossed his arms and looked at Haku from behind her. "So unkind of intruders to venture into our domain."

Haku turned around, slowly, stopping when she was at an angle to both Gahou and the two new threats. She flexed her hands, and one of the scabs tore open, from her recent encounter with the point of a shuriken. Dark red blood welled up and began to fall to the floor. Drip, dripdrip, dripdripdrip, d r i p She giggled, apparently not noticing the seeping gash that went almost all the way through her palm, voice muffled by the hard porcelain. "Look, Inky! It's a carp and a kittycat! Why do they sing so unpleasantly?"
Kurome growled quietly, Missed. Her growl increased in volume and threat when she was called a 'kittycat' of all things, and she adjusted her grip on the naginata.
Gahou took the opportunity that he thought Haku's possible distraction by Kurome's growling caused, and lashed out with his whip.
Haku formed her own whip from the blood in her hand and both avoided his strike and captured both of his arms with hers, bringing him to he side rather neatly and spinning as she dragged her toe in a wide circle around them, using her momentum to complete it, so they were surrounded by a solid line of red, a puddle on one edge. Her chakra flared slightly, but otherwise, nothing else appeared to happen. "Inky was a naughty little inkwell; took what wasn't his and then bit back besides," Haku chanted like a child who was tattling.

Kurome took her own chance to strike, and she was only partly surprised when her blade struck the air in front of Haku, and bounced.

Haku snarled and held Gahou closer as the barrier shattered, blood rising from the floor like a waterfall run backwards, before returning back to the polished wood, Haku and her captive gone, save for a dark, red, perfectly-circular puddle that was the width of two hands held side-by-side. ((cp:260, exit))
Kurome, now even more incensed, let out a scream of rage not unlike the battle yowl of a cat, and started growling menacingly again. She was teetering on the edge of being unable to think rationally at all, her mind cataloging the incident as another failure to act and protect, a fourth, her memory counted, as her body tensed, lips twisting into an expression of revulsion at the sight (and scent) of the blood.

Same sighed in defeat. "She will bring Gahou back, I know she will. Kurome, your new orders are to familiarize yourself with that scent and be able to track it at a moment's notice. If we must, we might have to go after her."

Kurome's growling cut off abruptly, as her emotions abruptly shifted to neutral. "I have never smelled anyone else who reeked of blood as much as she. Except maybe that monstrosity, Baku. Being able to track this scent will not be difficult, I think." Her assessment was thoughtful, and she still jumped when-
A giggle that sounded as if produced by a little girl who had the voicebox of a young woman reverberated throughout the room, "Does kittycat not like blood? What then, does she like? Fish, no doubt, though the one at kittycat's side is not of a size to fry..." There came a less-childish-sounding laugh, and then a pause, as if the voice, which had to be Haku, really, was waiting for a response. ((cp: 14 cool )

Same looked down at the circle of blood. "I am not to be fried." He said while looking over at Kurome. "Are you going to let her taunt you, kitty-cat?" He poked fun at her.
