Kylie looked at him before giggling a little. Looking him over she sighed and shook her head. "Dug yourself into a steep hole huh?" She glanced outside the door where she could see the boys laughing and joking. They weren't going to leave until they saw Demetri with a girl or caught him in a lie. Giving him a look she shrugged and shifted her bag before walking towards the door with a slightly sarcastic grin on her face.

He worried a bit as she walked away. She hadn't technically agreed, was she leaving because she was offended or was she going to help him? He ran to catch up with her and fell into step beside her. Maybe she'd let him just kind of walk beside her so they thought that maybe she was his girl. He felt sure that every step was bringing him closer and closer to doom.

She saw Demetri catch up to her as she reached the door. Oh, this would be more then fun.
As they walked out the door she reached over and grabbed his hand. Normally they would have probably been close to the same height but Kylie's heels raised her a few inches, luckily their hands were at about the same height. "These the boys Demetri?" She smiled at them and cocked her head to the side trying her best to at least seem sweet.

He was shocked to say the least. He stared at her, he hadn't expected her to actually do anything. All he could do was nod slowly, "uhn."
"woah! He wasn't kidding!"
"I don't buy it. Lets see some real proof fairy-boy."
Lord this was uncomfortable. They'd figured it out already. He didn't know how to act like a boyfriend and he didn't even know her name. What was he supposed to do? Various comebacks flitted through his head but they all sounded evasive even to him. Still he could pretend to be offended at the idea of proving his love for... whoever this girl was. "I don't have to prove anything to you guys!" Yup, that was pretty obvious.

Kylie grinned. "What, jealous that you don't have a girlfriend? Aww...that's sad. Can't even get a girls attention so you take it out on a guy who can. That's really sad. Isn't that right Demetri?" Grinning she looked over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Damn this was fun!!!

Devon flinched at first expecting to be slapped. He looked over at her silly grin and couldn't help but smile. This could work. It really could, he just had to figure out how to make it believable. "I guess you're right." He tried to sound confident, but he didn't want to make the other boys angry, just prove he wasn't gay.
"Pssh, he couldn't get a girl to look at him if his life depended on it! Not without playing dollhouse."
Anger flared inside him. These dolls weren't barbies they were so much more than that. "They're not just any old dolls you know!" He'd ruined it. He groaned a little, he had to stop being so defensive.
"So you do play with dolls! That girl must just want someone to play with! I bet she doesn't have friends either!"
"Hey leave her alone!"

Kylie's eyes sharpened and she smiled a little. "If your talking about Angelic Layer then you have a lot to learn f**. These are not dolls technically, they miniature robots who fight." She let go of her fake-boyfriends hand and walked over to the boy who had spoken last. "They fight. Something you all should learn to do instead of run your mouths." She layed a hand on the boys shoulder and grinned at his slightly stunned look. Before he knew what had fully happened she had pushed and swept his feet out from under him in one simple motion. Sibling rivalry had it's perks. "Guess you have a lot to learn about judging things by their covers." Grinning down at the boy on the ground she giggled slightly and looked at the others before walking back over to Demetri. "What do you say to some Ice Cream dear? I'd love a root beet float!"

Demetri had to stop himself from smacking her. This wasn't what he'd wanted. They were going to hate him. "Whatever you do, don't break the illusion." He stared at where the other boy fell and nodded again. Why did everything go wrong for him? They were jerks and they deserved it but now they'd never give him a chance. "Sure," Damn, he needed a name, anything. "Sugar...?" It sounded kind of like a question but he did his best to cover it up. "I could go for one too I guess." He took her hand and started to walk off, "See you guys at school." He wanted to get away before more damage was done.
"Che! So what if he has a girlfriend? They're both freaky anyway."
He let go of her hand as soon as they got around the corner. "Thanks for the help..." He bit his lip, "Pardon my asking, but, whats your name?" He at least wanted to know who she was. He was holding back the urge to yell at her for hitting the other boy. She was only trying to help after all.

As soon as they got around the corner Kylie dropped the sugary sweet act and retracted her hand. "Kylie. And anytime. I get bored easily so that was kinda fun. You really need to learn how to stick up for yourself kid. Sometimes it's the crazy-in-your face things that get you respect instead of doing what people tell you to do all the time." She turned to walk away but thought better of it. "Oh, and you owe me a root beer float." She winked and started to walk off down the road, opposite from the boys were. "And don't try so hard for those jerks...your a Deus now."

Demetri didn't like to make waves. He didn't like big scenes and he didn't like causing trouble. He wanted their approval and their friendship and he'd do almost anything for it, but it wasn't like him to really stick up for himself. Every time he did that things went poorly. He'd gotten out of buying the little girl a cheap ice cream cone but now owed this other girl a root beer float, he sighed and rolled his eyes. It was a small price to pay to go a few more days without hearing 'f*****t' or 'fairy-boy'.
"I'll make note of that."

Kylie stopped and turned around to look at him, shifting her bag in agitation. "What...do you actually like being tormented by those morons?" She rolled her eyes and shifted her weight. "Look, if you act like then you're making yourself a target and it was a waste of time to try and help you. Man up or let them make you their b***h. Pick one and make it clear."

"No!" He paused, biting his lip, "I'm not very good at making friends. Thats why I bought that egg in the first place. The wierd lady said Angelic Layer could help me find friends. All its done so far is make it harder!" He was angry. He'd put so much hope and trust into the egg he had yet to even hatch and he still didn't have to guts to talk to strike up a conversation with anyone in the store and the boys seeing him there would make it miserable at school.

"And you think those boys are friends? Oh my, aren't we the blind little emo boy. Look, if you want to make friends don't make yourself a doormat. Angelic Layer is a great way to make friends. I haven't even started playing yet and I've already met new people." Reaching into her bag she pulled out Miyu dressed in her kerchief and showed her off delicately. "When you meet another Deus just show them your angel. It starts up conversations faster then you can blink at. This is Miyu, she's a medium weight angel with an emphasis on speed. See, that right there opens up a whole range off topics and none of them are unkind towards you. Honestly though, man up a little first...no one wants to battle a doormat or a b***h if you get my drift." She grinned and winked a little to show him that she wasn't trying to be mean, just kinda a tough love moment. Normally people like him would make her sick...but for some reason his need to be liked reminded her too much of her younger sister who was currently in that phase to let him go with out a good talking to.

Demetri thought about it for a while. What Kylie said was true, too true to be perfectly honest. He had to be strong if he wanted to make friends with people that wouldn't make him do rediculous tests or make him feel like dirt. He smiled when he saw the angel. He really liked Angelic Layer and he hadn't even played yet. Angry as he was that he still didn't have friends, he couldn't help but stare at people's angels.
"I haven't even hatched mine yet. I want it to be strong, but power based ones are hard to stop mid move. Its a pretty strong disadvantage. Then again the defensive ones don't do enough damage to get very far unless they get a lot of hits in." He bit his lip, he hadn't meant to run his mouth so much.

Kylie smirked slightly. "Look, a conversation." Rolling her eyes she tucked Miyu away safely and folded her arms. "See, it's not that bad. If you want my opinion on your angel though...go for a Medium weight to begin with. That way you have the option of which way to go. That's what I did. She's a medium weight so she's not a push over or a tank. I choose speed though cause I figured that would be more fun. She won't be as fast as the light weight models but she can take a little more damage then they can." Finally the kid was opening up. When he actually talked and made sense he wasn't too bad, but Kylie really couldn't put up with his whiny stuff anymore so she was glad for a slight shift away from emo-mode.
