"I am Tai," he said, smiling a bit, "And yes, this is the new Mortal Kombat Tournament as far as I can tell. However, I still find it hard to beleive that I'm talking to my role-modle."
Tai wiped away a tear of happiness as he thought of how this could be true.

- Well Tai... Would you mind telling me your reasons for being in the tournament?
As strange as it sounded, Scorpion was actually interacting with another person in a passive way, however, the hateful glare of his eyes remained intact, losing contact with Tai in order to examine the other warriors.
- It seems as if they where... Paralyzed... Do you think their soul reminds to be summoned?
Scorpion slowly walks toward Sub-Zero, who seemed to be frozen, as ironical as that might sound, giving him a stare as if he waited for his nemesis to come forward and continue their almost eternal battle.
- The elder gods must be planing something big... All of the warriors here, or at leas most of them, are supposed to be dead...

Tai nodded in respect.
"I suppose the Elder Gods have chosen me to fight...all of them, and you."
He looked down, having shamed himself with speaking of such a thing on the day that he met Scorpion.

Scorpion watched Tai over his shoulder, ignoring Sub-Zero for a little wile in order to say a few words to the young warrior.
- Rise your head pridefully... For you are a contestant of Mortal Kombat, and as one, you must truly be a great warrior...
Under his mask, Scorpion gave half a grin to Tai, for now he not only expected to fight only his nemesis Sub-Zero, but to also fight his new ally, the Outworld warrior: Tai.

Tai smiled as he rose his head, nodding his respects.
"Thank you, Scorpion," he said, "I am honored to even be in your pressence, let alone have a conversation with you. Should I survive this competition, as I am sure you will, I would be even more honored than I am now, if you could show me your ways, as of all of the warriors here, you are clearly the mightiest."
He stopped before he could continue as a pale figure caught his eye. Turning to see that it was none other than Quan Chi, he glared, and clentched a fist.

- Your faith in my abilities it's truly overwhelming... However, I doubt that I deserve the rank of "Mightiest warrior"...
After his words, his sight was drive to Quan Chi, the sorcerer that had taken away everything that really matter to Scorpion.
- I see that you, as well as I do, have unfinished busyness with the Sorcerer...
Scorpion turned to another figure within the strange realm, the former, as far as Scorpion knew, emperor of Outworld: Shao Kahn.
- It seems this tournament will be troublesome...
The eyes of the ninja then turned to the huge four-arm-figure of prince Goro
- But they shall receive what they deserve... I'll make sure of that...

Tai nodded as an answer to Scorpion's sugguestion that he had a grudge against Quan Chi.
"Once this competition start, please, allow me to prove my worth," he said, pausing a moment, "by killing the man who, in the previous tournament, kidnapped your son."
He then snickered as he got an idea.
"But for now," he said, taking a sharpy out of Jax's pocket, "I'm gonna draw where his forehead stops and his head starts."

"Scorpion..." Sub-Zero said, his voice as cold as a winter's night, "You killed my brother, the original Sub-Zero! And now he is cursed to be the being known as Noob Saibot! I will kill you!" Sub-Zero looked at Tao. "I have no quarrels with you, but if you side with Scorpion, then I will have to destroy you too!" I wonder if I have one who is like me... Sub-Zero thought in his mind.

Scorpion said coldly as he stared at Sub-Zero, keeping a glare full of anger and hatred.
- And when you're done with that, I could help you to join him in hell!
As those words came from his lips, Scorpion raised his right fist in order to taunt the Outworld ninja.

As Sub-Zero's disrespectful words towards Scorpion reached Tai's ear, a black mass rose from the ground beneath him. It snaked around as though it were alive, ready to be controlled by Tai. Holding a hand, outstretched towards Sub-Zero, he commanded it to attack. It surged forward, still snaking around a bit.
"How dare you speak to Scorpion like that?!" he snapped.

Scorpion's fist opened once again, stretching to the side, ordering to the young warrior to cancel his attack.
- Stop! Remember that this is the Mortal Kombat tournament! If we fight now we'll be breaking the rules, and if we do, the elder gods will have our heads... We'll take out Sub-Zero, but not here!
Said Scorpion with a strong and angered voice as he walked towards Sub-Zero, stopping his steps just a few feet away from the ice ninja.
- That goes to you as well... At least your brother knew the rules of the tournament... To bad his name it's now being stained by his foolish little brother.
After his words, Scorpion walked to Tai, grabbing his right shoulder with his left hand.
- That's an interesting ability, my friend... I'm looking forward to seeing you destroy someone with it...
Scorpion remained giving his back to Sub-Zero, ignoring him as if he was not even there, aiming his blank eyes to Noob Saibot just for a short period of time.
- What's keeping them?! Elder gods! Whoever brought us here! Show yourself!

Tai nodded and the darkness receeded, disappearing from sight.
"Sorry, I lost my temper when he chose to disrespect you, Scorpion." he said, looking downward.
Quickly he remembered that Scorpion had told him not to do that, and raised his head once again.

- A mere fake of the original Sub-Zero could never disrespect a true warrior...
Scorpion muttered to Tai, as his patience became shorter and shorter with every second that no one answered to his questions.
- Mi patience has it's limits... And now they're far behind!
Scorpion stomped the ground, falling to his left knee just after that in order to strike the ground with his fist, letting out a full lounge scream.
- ARGH!!!
His blank eyes then surfed across the realm to the "Sky", trying to find something within the... Nothing.

Tai turned as Scorpion punched the ground. He looked down towards him, then up towards the "sky".
"Did you bring us here just to toy with us?!" he roared, sharing Scorpion's anger.

As Tai spoke, Scorpion punched once again the ground in anger, standing up after that.
- This... Is just ridiculous...
After those words, Scorpion remained silent, walking toward the "Paralyzed" body of Shao Kahn, giving him a full-strength blow to the skull-masked face of Outworld emperor, who just remained there, motionless.
- They won't even fight! At least test our power by sending ninjas or something!
And as he yelled his wish to the sky, a rumbling sound breaks in the east...? Or maybe the west... Or north... Anyhow, a rumbling sound breaks somewhere away of the warriors.
- What the...? Could it be?...
Scorpion raised an eyebrow as he started looking for the point where that sound was coming from.
