I really just wanted to play music and at the time my cousin had a guitar and so we both decided to start a band and so there I got a guitar.

I started because of Guitar Hero. sweatdrop But I was interested since forever. unlike most People who start with guitar hero, I continued. so, I've been playing since easter, and I love it.

Well, I needed something to counteract my heavy levels of geekiness.. xD I'm kidding.
Well, it started out when I had nothing to really express myself other than drawing (which I wasn't really good at in the first place.) Eventually I found out that one of my friends played guitar, and I thought that music would be a good route to express my music. So, I eventually asked my parents if I could get one (my dad eventually got one himself for his 50 oddth birthday), and I got a nice Jay Turser Jazz Guitar that Christmas.
Around Easter, I think, my dad got me an Ibanez GSR200 FM bass and a Fender Rumble 60, I eventually got a rumble 15 aswell so I wouldn't have to transport a humous amp.
Later on, I decided to get a copy of a Peavey Telecrap ripoff that had an acousic sound on it (that didn't really work, but whatever), then my dad gave me the Les Paul he didn't use (a white Studio) for having such good grades.
Oh, and don't forget the effects that I've gained since then, and that I hope to gain in the future.. The first effect I got was a Phaser, and I messed with my dad's wah pedal, then I got a chorus (that I eventually gave to my dad). One day, my sister's boyfriend came over to jam with me and my dad, and because he didn't use his delay (the boss DD-6, he gave it to me.)The christmas after I got my guitar, I got a Boss BCB 60 pedal board with a TU-12 Tuner, and the SD-1 + DS-1. I gave the DS-1 to my dad (oh, and the wah as well).
Now, I've just been trying to get faster and learn as much about music theory as I can so I can fully express myself. Oh, and I've been jamming wtih people and absorbing information from the world around me. :B
In the future, I hope to at least know all of the modes of the major scale (I know of them, but I don't know where they would start in the scale shapes), other scales and their modes, and to get more effects (More delays, a looper, more modulation effects) + a better amp (tube?) and a better bass (The one I have right now is falling apart D: ))

Mostly cuz I was listening to alot of music(older british stuff like Beatles, Wishbone Ash,Free,and so on),and I'd always liked the idea of playing some instrument,and the stuff I'd had in my head brought guitar to mind.

well i started, a while ago, i was already playing GH2 on my PS2 and i was playing expert, and it felt good playing but i really wonted to play a real one, well i ask my dad for one and he said i could play his, and i said
"You have a guitar?!" he laughted and i ran uppstares looked in the closet and there was a gibson accustice (how ever u spell that) up there and so i started playing, well my bro came over and i showed him what i can play,i could play the begining to hells bells, lol well my bro said
" i have a electrice guitar at my house he said ill give it to u IF u get an amp first, i never play it anyway"
so i got happy mrgreen
and me and my dad was out side talking the next day and my bro called and my dad told him to bring it up here so he did, i was a fender black and white color, it was in perfect conditon, i was EXCITED
then my dad spoke up and said, well lets get u an amp
and was stunded to hear that, and i said "really?!?'
"yep lets go before its to late" so i sleped my shoes on and got an amp, ever sence then i have played guitar and this was along time ago
i give thank you to Guitar hero for giving me the chance to acully really rock on the REAL guitar lol, so far my fav song to play is hells bells by AC/DC and thats why i started

Kadalun [Shadow_Ninja] Well, it all started 5 years ago when I suddenly had this obsession with guitar. I would do air guitar(not knowing what I was doing), my mom got me an electronic play guitar, and I even made a ghetto guitar out of K'nex. My mom finally decided that I need to play for real. She tried to get me into the classes that the city offered for free, but I was about 2 weeks too late. So then she went to one of her good friends and I had privats lessons. I was in the Jr. Hi band at church after that and that instructor moved away. I then took lessons from the guy in charge of the band, but after about 2 months of lessons, he moved away. Now I am all alone, just improving on what I know. I know that was like a brief summary of my entire Guitar history. Cool! likee.. A real biography thingy.. would look good if you ever become famous. (if you do! remember me.. -not that you will xD- would b so cool to would be remembered by a fabous someone.. xD) Well if I become famous, I will be the most humble celebrity out there. Of course I will remember anyone, as long as we became good friends before my fame, not after. Also, if somehow I do become famous, it honestly won't be because I want to fully pursue that. I want guitar to be my hobby, but if it becomes my job too, that would be pretty awesome. Oh, and if I do become famous. of course I will remember the GGG!!!

i started playing because in my school we had a club where u bring in ur guitar or any other instrument so i decided to go(because my house is boring)and the teacher running it was amazing.He actually had his own band called unified theroy(almost hit it big in japan).And ive been playing ever since.

I started playing because I want to play like the greats! I also started because I feel that this is something that I will benfit from. Don't know exactly, but I'll figure it out.
Oh, I started playing just a few months ago, so if you have any tips, please let me know!

I've always wanted to but only really got the kick and the influence to when i Heard Plug in baby by MUSE. all I thought was that i wanted ot be able to play like that.

Da Johnny Well it all started in the Winter of '88 it was a cold Wednesday morning, my mother was in a great deal of pain, and I was chargin through! J/K I actually started playing for partly self-esteem issues, at first it was just so people wouldn't think I was a load of sh!t and didn't amount to the aforementioned load of sh!t. People just took me for a kid with no talent at all, so I picked up guitar after being inspired by music, and eventually got really into it. A little emo, but I got back on my feet, and am now a fledged weirdo/outcast/rocker biggrin xD I love the Family Matters reference!

Well I started playing guitar about a year ago. I'd already taught myself to play the keyboard so I figured I'd try my hand at guitar too. All I really wanted to do was to be able to play my music from the Sonic the hedgehog soundtrack, but I guess I've grown a greater passion for it since then. 3nodding

My little sister got one for her birthday and she never played it so I thought I should try it and not waste the money my mom spent on it and now I love playing guitar.
