Sundance nodded in agreement. "It's utterly repulsive I think. How could one be obsessed with their own looks?" The flatten her ears against her skull before raising them to his question. "I am not doing anything as of now. Swampie hasn't called me back to the teepee yet so I guess I have this time to myself."

The painted stallion plodded slowly among the trees in the forest and snorted. He still felt horrible after the not-so-good tending to horrible meeting with Hotaru and Yei. It was obvious Yei was mad at him for greeting Hotaru with more fondness than he had greeted her. Lowering his head the stallion blew at the fallen leaves covering the forest ground causing them to rustle loudly. Perhaps...no. He must find a way to put things right. But...being inexperience with the ways of female thinking the young stallion was clearly at a loss. Even Elan his familiar could not do much to counsel him on such matters.
Overhead Elan the hawk flew over his equine friend and sighed. Eversince that disasterous meeting his friend had acted all down and moody which was...well....not so different than he usually was but there was a difference at any rate. Adjusting his wings the hawk then made a decend towards the stallion and landed lightly on his back. "Cheer up Thel. It's not as bad as you think it is...,"

A silent thumping resounded throughout the dense forest as blades of grass made way for the wildly galloping stallion. It seemed as if he were running away from something... But he was not. He was galloping alone; his spirit was freeing itself. The dirt beneath him was crushed and better meshed together under his weight and force, and the tall, unmoving trees seemed to swerve away as they saw him coming. He was alone and away from his family and teepee again... and he liked it. He was by himself, and that was all he needed.
At once, something quite distinct caught the attention through the corner of his right eye, through the blends of the forest trees. Curious, Couscous slowed his gallop down into a canter, and then a cautious walk. He neared the shadow that intrigued him so... Closer and closer he approached, until he reached sight of a stallion with interesting coloration. It was someone he had not met or encountered before. However, Couscous did not know whether he wished to approach or not; and the other hadn't seen him yet. Perhaps if he were lucky, he would be able to slip away behind a few trees and lose himself within the forest yet again. He hesitated, and waited a while longer to make up his mind and see if the other had seen him yet. He looked disgruntled -- perhaps now was not a time to intervene if he was in a bad mood.

The sound of rustling leaves followed by footfalls did not make the painted stallion look up but Elan who was not affected by his friend's mood turned and noticed the silver stallion among the trees.
"Hey Thel, there's another soquili over there," Elan said flapping his wings before turning to greet the other. "Hi there!"
Upon hearing his friends words Thelerian too turned and saw the stallion. Not wanting to ofend the other Thelerian arched his head slightly and gave a greeting. "Good day...sir,"

Alarmed by the voice that came from overhead, Couscous turned his head twice, looking for its source. He finally found its origin, his gaze focusing on the dark hawk hovering above him and the other soquili. Interesting, he hadn't seen that many hawks where he had previously travelled. He sighed as the hawk seemed to avert the other soquili's attention to him. Now he didn't have a chance to sneak away. He began to walk closer to the other soquili; now that he had been spotted, he might as well not seem too antisocial.
"Hello," he called whilst in mid-walk to both the hawk and soquili. He stopped when he was at a safe, comfortable distance from the other stallion; he did not like approaching others too closely. "Anything... troubling you?" he asked, recalling the uncontent expression he recognized in the stallion earlier.

Elsewhere in the forest, not too far from her teepee, Talencia was walking along a dim trail and chittering to the squirrels. The sun was beginning to go down, and she pulled a fur wrap close about her arms. These early spring evenings could still get quite cold.
She was inadvertantly playing a game of catch with the squirrels, who seemed to delight in chucking pine cones at her. She'd catch them and then toss them to the side, where another squirrel would immediately scurry to pick it up.
At one point two squirrels threw at the same time, and Tal of course missed one of them. It thunked her in the head rather loudly and she yelped. Every single one of the little creatures scurried and hid like naughty children caught doing something they shouldn't. Tal rubbed the small scrape on her forehead ruefully and then laughed at them. "Silly creatures, I can only catch one at a time!" She tossed the last caught pine cone aside and kept walking, humming softly.

The ground was still moist beneath Dyre's hooves, and the faint chill of the wind against his wet fur gave him a shiver. He wasn't sure what it was that called him away from the lake; he certianly was enjoying the time that he was playing with Maize. But, the winds always seemed to know what was right. Just as he was making his way rather peacefully, his ears perked up once again. There was a sound - unlike anything he had ever heard before. He did hear squirrles chittering, but there was something different.
Curiousity always seemed to get the best of him during such times, so instead of continuing on his known pathway, he decided to waiver. He wanted to see what it was - just to know for a moment, and he promised himself he would return to where he was going. Water droplettes still formed beneath his hairs, condensing and collecting with the other tiny essences of liquid. They would gather with one another, until they could barely hold on. Then finally, they'd release, falling with excitement through the air with such freedom - only to be returned to a foilage ridden forest floor, and become burried underneath leaves and twigs.
His journey was somewhat silent, although he could not help it when his hooves came into contact with brittle sticks. A few crackles could be heard when he did this, but it wasn't loud enough for him to be alarmed. Whatever he was seeking might have been able to hear this, but he was not conecerned in the slightest. His heart started to beat a little faster within his chest - he was excited! The unknown was always so interesting to him. He knew that the trees greatly obstructed him from his destination, but that wouldn't stop him.
Just as Dyre turned to get to the other side of a rather large trunk - he met a surprise! There was a creature standing straight up, on two legs no less! Was this the creature that made the sound? What in the world? Oh! He moved around to see the front of the creature - yes, he knew who this was! It was Tal~!

As the last of the squirrels scattered into their respective homes for the night, Tal heard movement in the forest around her. She was not alarmed, though, since she knew there were creatures in the forest around her at all times. One was definitely approaching her, but it sounded small enough to not be a threat. So she kept walking and humming and waited for whatever it was to present itself.
When little Dyre suddenly poked his head out from behind a tree bole, she nearly laughed loudly at the surprised. "Dyre darling, what are you doing way out here?! It's going to be dark soon!" She moved to the colt and wrapped one arm gently but firmly about his shoulders and began walking again. Her gentle pressure on his body urged him to walk with her, towards the village. "Let's go find something to eat, shall we? There is always a family willing to welcome us for dinner." Her heart warmed as she thought of the kind villagers who had so cared for her while she had waited for Delphia to emerge.

Dyre's lush green eyes seemed to illuminate from the sight of his dear friend. He really enjoyed Tal's company, she was extremely kind and generous to him, no matter what the circumstances. The entire forest seemed to become a more calm and nurturing place when she was around. He even noticed how the squirrels were chittering happily within her presense, although they were known to be troublemakers.
More of a bounce could be felt within Dyre's step as he walked along happily with Tal. That short and rather whispy tail found itself to be flung from left to right, side to side, in the same rhythmic manner as Tal's footsteps. He nodded his head in agreement to her words, and was more than honored to be able to accompany her back towards the village. A soft rumble could be heard from within his throat, as he attempted to make a friendly conversation with her, in the most primitive of ways.

Helaku's breath blew through his nostrils softly as he moved through the forest. He knew his brother Dyre came through this area...but where was he? Helaku hadn't seen his sibling in so very long, not since they were foals. He wanted to find out what life was like for his brother, and perhaps tell a bit of what was going on in his own.

Thelerian let out a small sarcastic sounding laugh. "Well...if it involves telling me the ways of the opposite gender then I would gladly welcome help," the painted stallion replied shaking his head.
"It means that he had some girl trouble," the hawk said bluntly despite the stallion's glare.
"Sometimes Elan...I could kick you...," Thelerian muttered under his breath. Then noticing that the other stallion was still there Thelerian sheepishly pawed the ground.
"Well...umm..like my friend mentioned...I seemed to have offended two females recently...," Thelerian said. "And well...I feel bad about it...,"

Couscous snorted, turning his head to face the trees off to the side, avoiding the other stallion's eyes. Although he was amused by the seemingly resentful relationship the hawk and soquili had, the stallion's words troubled him. He himself has had trouble with femalekind in the past - one female - and that had been enough to change his outlook on life. He sighed before answering the other stallion, his heart somewhat getting a feeling of slight compassion for him.
"Females," he paused, trying to find the right words, "they are troublesome sometimes. Oftentimes I find it better to not interact with them at all. But, tell me, what have you done to them?" A look of concern washed over his features. "You didn't offend them on purpose, did you?"

"Females are not meant to be understood!" screeched the hawk from above as he few around the two stallions. "Never understood them myself,"
Ignoring Elan Thelerian sighed. "Let's just say I greeted one in a tone friendly than the other...,"
"It was not a pretty sight too!" quipped Elan as he finally settled down onto a nearby branch.
"I guess..it wasn't...," admitted Thelerian agreeing with his familiar. "And it seems that I learnt it the hard way...,"

"Don't blame yourself for that," Couscous sharply scolded. "You are not at fault when you consider a mare or two more pleasing than another. It is our nature to feel differently towards each individual soquili. If we were to treat each other the same, why, the world would be in disarray. Ah, such foolish mares..."
He walked up to the stallion and nudged him playfully. "Do you like her?.. The one you greeted in a more friendly tone." He winked. "Too bad for the other mare, though. You'd seem like quite a catch. Strong features, handsome coating, and even a soft, sensitive, thoughtful heart. I myself don't spend time worrying about trivial things such as that, but perhaps I should. Things in the past may not have occurred if I had worried like you, but... eh. Females." He snorted again. "Anyways, the name's Couscous."

Slowly sliding through the dirt and the leaves that has fallen down on the ground, she smelt that many soquilis has been here. Hmph...doubt any of them would be here right now... Awnae continued her little walk through the forest, looking left and right.
