((New RP - Nagual & Yei)) Nagual looked around her. Usually, she never journeyed into the mountains... it was yet another adventure (at least what she terms as one) the brought her here. She had walked through the corridor of forest of the mountain pass... and there, got sight of the desert. It intrigued her; the barrenness of it. The mare doubted very much that she would find any berries there. The immensity of it was astounding... and she wanted a better view.
It had taken her most of the day to get this high. Nagual had picked and prodded through the moutains, getting higher and higher. Finally, she was at a comfortable height when she finally turned around.
The view was breath-taking, and it was more than just the higher altitude. Nagual was happy that she was not afraid of heights, for if she was there was no way she would have been able to see this. The breeze picked up as the air was carried up the moutain. The mare's mane and tail fluttered gently as invisible fingers caressed and tangled her hair.

The mountains had always been the soquili mare's home, her fiery coat said to be the result of the meddling spirits within the mists that rested at the peaks. It was therefore no surprise that she knew most of the area on at least simplistic terms as well as the humans and other creatures that would lurk - visitors were rare.
So rare were these visitors, that she was given quite a shock as she came to an abrupt halt atop a ledge that overlooked the deserts and the slopes below and saw none other than a certain mare that she had seen since she was a foal - well, almost, she had seen her a few times after that but the greetings were short.
"Well, well, well..." She murmured smoothly, bobbing her head only briefly as she turned from her slope and delicately leapt from ledge to ledge upon descent, the small 'click' of her hooves against the rocky surfaces somewhat muffled by the mosses that grew upon them.
Nevertheless, it didn't take her long to descend the slope and soon as she was approaching the young mare with a mild smile upon her lips, "I haven't seen you in quite sometime Nagual-An." She spoke up softly.

Nagual turned at the sound of falling rocks. She watched in awe as the bright red mare gracefully made her descent. For sure, she herself did not look nearly so good in those movements... then again, it IS Yei.... who looks good doing about anything.
Smiling brightly, the mare bobbed her head in welcome. "Yei! It's always a pleasure to see you." Nagual sighed, "It has been too long. How have you been?"

"I've been well." Yei replied with a smile of her own, her pace slowing until she came to halt and observed the scene that had captured the young mare's interest - she was not surprised to see it was the desert as, when she was a foal she remembered rather vaguely about thinking that the sand was gold...like the rocks she found in the river sometimes.
"A little preoccupied with my own affairs but still well and yourself?" She continued, raising an equine brow to survey the mare before grinning more mischeviously, "Any stallions of interest?"

Nagual shook her head and eyed Yei playfully, "Stallion? You know them... dense creatures that are either too full of themselves or too unsure. Either way, not enough fun for interest...." The mare winked. "And yourself? Any stallions that I need to know about?"

((cont. Orchu/Couscous RP YAY~~ o dangs I have a lot of elipses.. ehehe 8D;;; *die*))
Couscous smiled warmly, nodding lightly. "No no, it's fine. Most assume I don't have children, as I no longer have the scent of a mare on me, nor do I seem like a father..." he trailed off, ignoring Orchu's question of whether he had seen his son or not, and drifted off in thought for a few moments right after. "Stormwild..." he muttered silently to himself, starting to walk away inch by inch without waiting for Orchu. The movement of his hooves became more awkward, and he made silent stomping-like motions whilst walking instead of walking normally. He made a gruff sound before shaking his head, realizing that he was still in conversation with the winged soquili a little ways behind him. He noticed he had barely moved from his spot before, and shook his head yet again in slight embarassment.
"Kasumi... I am sure she would never do that," he said meekly, "for she is kind, gentle, loyal... In all my days of living in the same home as her, not once has she proved to be malicious or conniving, or anything of that sort."
He partially listened on as Orchu travelled ahead of him, mentioning the seemingly endless list of names of ones whom he was familiar with. It was as if he were spilling out his life story, yet the two had only just met. Couscous nodded politely and grunted after Orchu was done speaking. He prayed that Orchu wouldn't quiz him later or anything--had he been paying any attention, perhaps he would have not prayed for this. "So... many names. Interesting names," he lied, as he had forgotten them all, except Lux, who was currently on his back. "Kasumi and I... and my daughters reside in the teepee of two indians. Starlight and Moon, they are called... named after the stars and the moon themselves. I don't see them much, as you know, for I am more often than not out by myself, away from their teepee." His eyes glanced upwards for a moment--hoping to catch a glimpse of the clean, fresh sky. But above him was mostly shrouded in dense fog and darkness, and he grunted in despair. He did not know where he was going, so he put all faith in Orchu. He dared not ask if he knew where he was going or not, as he was perhaps afraid of what his answer would be...
"Orchu..." he said in almost a whisper-like manner, "to pass the time... Do you know where you are from?" He looked upwards again, trying to find light--any trace of light at all from the sky in which he could delve in and find comfort with, but no luck. Or was it just him? Could he possibly be going blind? A light flickered in the distance in the corner of his eyes - a hint of light beyond the fog! Or... It could have been his imagination. He sighed. "If I have parents... I don't know who they are. Perhaps I was born without parents..."

"Ah, now that is an interesting question..." For a time the mare appeared to be bashfully hesitant before at last stepping forward slightly to admire the deserts and then the forested slopes to her left where a certain being currently held her interest - granted nothing had happened between the two but she couldn't help but wish it would sometimes.
"There is a stallion, but I'm not sure how he feels yet." She confessed and flashed a warm smile, her mane ruffling slightly in the cool breeze that now mingled with the dry around this particular area of the mountain, "He's very handsome and although he's quite there's a part of him that's mildly rebellious..." She gave a chuckle and shook her head to the side.
"I guess we'll just have to see but I'm surprised you haven't found a male yet yourself!"

Nagual laughed as the wind carried her voice away. "Me? With a stallion? My dear Yei, I am much to young for courting... and I like my freedom at the moment. One day, perhaps, but there is too much for me to see right now."
The mare was secretly delighted to hear about Yei's interest. How delightful! "I am so happy for you! Does this lucky stallion have a name? And how can he resit you?" Nagual winked over at her 'mentor's' direction.

"Ah, one is never too young to start practicing Nagual, always remember that." Yei pointed out wisely as she vaguely remembered trying to 'court' young colts when she was a filly in the hopes of coming to understand their thoughts, unfortunately...she never quite realised until now that they matured over the years and filly skills were not as useful as she had once thought.
"Even so, his name is Whisper but you have to promise not to speak to him about it, he doesn't know!" She giggled and shook her head from side to side before leaning close as though fearful of being over heard, "He has the finest white coat I have ever seen and he is so polite, quiet yes but even then there's a twinkle in his eye...I don't know why, he just seems nice." She mused as though uncertain of her own words, in all honesty she'd never actually been interested in a stallion before!

Nagual listened intently. She really looked up to Yei as if the mare was truly her mentor. "Well, then... if I am not to young, then I guess I just haven't found the right one," the mare grinned. Never really understanding the male race, Nagual felt that she wasn't prepared and that more experience and years would give her that which to succeed in such causes.
"Whisper? I don't think I've had the opportunity to meet him. Nonetheless, you're secret is safe with me. He will not hear anything from this mare, nope! He sounds like a fine catch, was it thoughts of him that brought out you this way? I know you live in the mountains, but I wasn't expecting to see you today."

Orchu shrugged and sighed. "It is doubtful that I carry Kasumi's scent with me at this moment. For I have not been with her in a number of days." The stallion caught Couscous muttering words silently to himself from the corners of his steel eyes; but didn't catch what the Couscous was mumbling. Orchu shook his head; awakening from his thoughts. He had dazed off for a few seconds and he picked up his walk in order to reach Couscous; his hooves clashed against the rocky ground of the mountain path. The stallion noticed Couscous's movements were becoming irregular; which seemed most peculiar. Orchu frowned slightly and felt he should ask if Couscous were alright; but he held his tongue. I have probably caused him to be as he is so far on this night; best not say anything else that may create the situation to become worse... He informed himself. "No; I don't believe Kasumi would either. It's odd with our personalities being so different... yet we cooperate so well together. Opposites attract." He chuckled lightly. "My qualities pale in comparison among Kasumi's; that's just who I am though." Orchu continued conversing with the stallion; although Orchu's words seemed an endless monologue. A short way through the conversation the stallion noticed Couscous had ceased acknowledging his words. His voice became dull as he continued; wondering when Couscous would jolt back into reality. Orchu frowned at the stallion; his steel eyes nearly glaring at Couscous for not listening. "Interesting names yes." He drowned out. Orchu knew he and Couscous were drawing closer to his teepee; for he had just glimpsed the second stream necessary to pass out of four on the way to the buckskin teepee with orca painted upon the outside. "Where I am from?" The stallion repeated; abruptly halting as his eyes stared longingly into the darkness. Where... am I from? Orchu wondered; thunderstruck by the question. He cleared his throat and ambled along a brief ways behind Couscous. "No. I am afraid I do not. I believe I came from somewhere in the arctic region though... Polar enlightened me that she found me outside her teepee one snowy day... Other than that I am not aware from where I came. I am unconscious as to where my parents are as well." The stallion nodded as he told Couscous. wahmbulance

Couscous nodded briefly after Orchu repeated his question. "I was found as well. I don't know my parents, either," he sighed. "But how does that make you feel?" His gaze continued boring holes into the sky. He felt more comfortable now that the gentle trickling of water from a stream floated towards his hearing. "How does it make you feel," he muttered again under his breath to himself. Apparently, this was one of those nights.
"But anyways, what did you mean about your qualities paling in comparison with Kasumi's? You have great qualities just like Kasumi, I'd bet. And now that you mention it, you do kind of smell like Kasumi. Kind of. Come with me to our teepee one day. I believe she usually stays there with her indian friends, though I cannot be quite sure as I don't often go there myself. Anyways... We must be nearing anytime by now? It's already been a while walking." He halted.
"You know, Orchu, it's been quite pleasant taking a midnight stroll with you. Perhaps we can meet again somewhere. Take a hike around the mountains. You can handle it, can't you? You've got wings, anyways. If you don't have the endurance to stand the mountains, you can fly," he humored, "but a stallion like yourself should be able to handle anything." He smiled to himself and continued along the path that would eventually bring the two to Orchu's teepee. After this journey was over, and after he returned to his own home, he would definately miss the company of Orchu for a while.

Orchu frowned slightly and blinked; startled by Couscous' question. "I... never really thought about it I suppose..." The stallion answered tentatively. "Polar has just always been there for me it seems; it's not as if I dwell on my parents... I'd love to meet them if the opportunity arose and I'd be eager to know who they are given the chance yet... it seems so improbable either event would occur..." Orchu observed Couscous' expression as he spoke. I never knew Couscous could seem so emotional. It's as if a part of him is missing and he is longing to find that piece... The stallion drifted off; caught amidst a reverie. Orchu chuckled and grinned at Couscous. "Kasumi is wonderful and I... well... am not." He shrugged. "And I would enjoy that." Orchu beamed. "Perhaps then I will also have the pleasure of meeting your children; I'm sure they are wonderful. And yes we are drawing closer to my teepee." He informed the stallion. "I concur. If you are willing to make the journey we could meet in the caverns located at the mountain's summit. There are numerous entrances that lead in the caverns from along the path entwining up the mountain. My endurance is fair; I believe myself capable of the venture. You certainly will be able to handle the journey no doubt. I must admit I'd be somewhat disappointed if you weren't able to." Orchu jested politely. As the two stallions conversed they passed the third; and then fourth stream necessary to wander past in order to reach the buckskin teepee that Orchu called his home. "Home sweet home." Orchu muttered to himself as he glimpsed his teepee. The stallion smiled genuinely at Couscous. He led the way into his teepee; pushing aside the flap of hide as he entered. Quietly he strode over to the far side of the teepee; stepping around Auri's basket. Carefully the stallion lowered himself to the ground; he extended one of his wings and gently slid his daughter's basket off oh his back with his muzzle. Then Orchu picked Rami up by the scruff of his neck using his teeth; extracting a sharp growl from the sleeping bear. Rami swatted at the air with his paws and Orchu waited for the bear to cease his peculiar actions before placing him on soft furs lining the teepee floor beside Nora's basket. The stallion smiled up at Couscous. "That Indians sleeping over there are Polar, Kasey and Cheryl; this black and gold basket is Auri and that sleeping stallion over there is Demon; whom has the pelt of a husky." One by one Orchu gestured to the sleeping forms scattered about the teepee before his steel blue eyes fell back upon Couscous; a sheepish smile upon his face.

"I see," Couscous replied. He wondered how one could be be so unlonging to meet their own parents -- they, of course, are the ones who bring life into existance. "And although Kasumi is wonderful, I am sure you have many redeeming qualities as well. Don't be so harsh on yourself. You must be as wonderful as Kasumi if she's your mate," he winked.
"Let's just see if you'll be able to keep up with me when that time comes, then," Couscous chuckled and nodded as the two stallions reached the teepee. As he followed Orchu into the teepee, he looked to his back as far as his head turned, and gently lowered himself onto the ground, letting gravity slide the wolf that had been on his back onto the teepee floor. He smiled and looked around the teepee. It looked big, yet comfy, as it had to house all the many inhabitants inside. "There are many living inside your home," he simply stated in slight awe and amusement. "Perhaps one day I will be able to talk to them too. But for now, I guess it is getting a little late, and I must retire to my own residence soon. I think the indians there or my children, or perhaps even Kasumi will get worried. We shall meet again one day when the winds are friendly to us." He smiled and stepped lightly out of the teepee, his back to Orchu. He saw complete darkness ahead of him, but would follow the sounds of nature and the moon above him to safety. "Keep in touch, my friend, and hope to meet you again soon in the caverns." His last words before he ran off to his own teepee echoed along with the clopping of his hooves on the cold, hard ground, and bounched back and forth among the rocks and pebbles on the floor which made it echo, sounding almost meaningful. But it was meaningful, and Couscous had meant every word of it.

"I suppose." Orchu chuckled. "Keep up I will try." He winked at Couscous; a smirk adorning his facial expression. Orchu watched the wolf descend to the soft furs from Couscous' back and he nudged the sleeping form of Lux gently towards Auri black and gold basket. Orchu was fond of his teepee; it was comforting and warm. Polar, Kasey and Cheryl had performed a joint effort and had constructed the teepee well; it sealed out the cold and the floor was soft. "Yes..." Orchu stated. "We are one huge family. We rely on each other and support one another... They are a key portion of all I believe I will ever need... I'm sure you will have the chance of speaking with them all at some point in time. A wise decision; I'm sure they are beginning to worry. After all we have been out for a particularly long while." Steel blue eyes watched the gray stallion exit his teepee. "At the caverns it is. Good night my friend; I bid you a safe passage home." He replied to Couscous. Orchu listened to Couscous' hooves clashing against the rocky mountain until the last of the echoing died away. The stallion's steel blue eyes fled once about his teepee; he dearly loved all of the members of his family. Orchu drifted off into a peaceful slumber; thinking eagerly of how his next encounter with Couscous would turn out.
