The director of the anime sought out to represent multiple, distinct boy-girl relationships, fraternal as well as marital. Stained as well as clean.
The anime ends abruptly when the last relationship comes into a complete revalation : i.e. the watcher realizes that the boy diludes himself into thinking he hates the girl to get away from his love for her.
The manga (I heard this secondarily) doesn't stop there, continuing to tell the story of the lovers and the reprucussions of their actions. The director of the anime didn't want to tell their complete story but rater just represent Circumstances to enlighten the watcher.
So don't complain, its art all its own!

Thats why I prefer Manga over Anime, sure all you need to do with anime is to listen, but in manga you get all the info possible in the story, it cost as much if you read it upon line, but if you get the real stuff it's possible to reatain a few, few, IQ points! So what sounds better spending HOURS to get a vivid story line, or watching a show that probly doesn't live up to it's roots, in what, three hours?
