Sunshine - Robin McKinley

Slightly different take on vampires, but a clever, involving storyline. And by the time I finished it, I had a completely different view of vampires! =P Enjoyable read, I would recommend it to anyone

YES I agree, you should try Twilight by Stephanie Meyer 1#!, its a good book. The sequel is terrible though. The third is my second fav.

I can tell you all about good books to read...if you have an expanded enough vocabulary (and the stomach) to understand them. I'm not trying to be insulting, but some of them have waaaaay too many big words...even if I do understand them.

You also have to like fantasy as a genre.

Here are a few of my favs:

Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, and Queen of the Darkness
by Anne Bishop (The Black Jewels Trilogy). These are about blood in general, I can't explain more without a lot of time.

The Women of the Otherworld Series by Kelley Armstrong (Bitten, Stolen, Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic, Haunted and Broken) These are about all supernaturals.

The Carpathian novels, not sure who they're by but the one I thought was good is called 'Dark Demon' (yes, it is about vampires)

My sis recommended a book by Richard Laymon called The Travelling Vampire Show, but it wasn't very scary (he writes horror, but it's quite childish)

These next ones are just favs of mine. Rhapsody, Prophecy and Destiny by Elizabeth Haydon. And, of course, my absolute favourite series, The Nightrunner Series, by Lynn Flewelling.
Luck in the Shadows, Stalking Darkness and Traitor's Moon.
Awesome, awesome books.

Try Vampire Knight if you're into manga.

Try reading anything by Anne Rice --- I know people say Stephanie Myer is "better" but she was the first vampire novelist to earn critic/audience acclaim.
Interview with a vampire is one of the best.

I'm with everybody when I suggest Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. All of her books are amazing, even the ones that aren't about vampires.

Also there is a manga series, if you like manga, that is online and has just started coming out. It's called Vampire Knight and I really like it.

There is a book I got from the library called My Demon In View i think. it's really good, it's about a girl named Jessica who wrote a book with a vampire in it, and she ends up seeing him at school.

Ewww I can't believe all people could come up with is Twilight xd

One of the best vampire books I have ever read is the Vampire Hunter D series by Hideyuki Kikuchi. You'll find them in the manga section of the book store.
