In a grassy savannah, the sun was breaking down over the horizon, light pooling in the cracks in the floor and in the depth of the savannah, casting a golden glow along the lands. It was cooler now, and the grass rustled with light movement.
The light silver Hyena moved slowly, limbs propelling him fowards at an easy pace, displaying his laid back attitude. With his freedom, Mtanga was content. He hadn't seen his brother nor had he met many pther people, but he was content, and was taking his own advice of relaxing and taking it easy. His slurred voice rang out as he looked about. Singing a tune he'd made up on the way, olive eyes peering about with not a care in the world.

The red hyena gave a slight shiver as she walked across the savannah. She had been walking for what seemed like the entire day and had only stopped once for a drink.
There wasn't a set reason for Talutah's travel. Her last location had been occupied by too many other animal, none of which were hyenas. It made her nervous to be surrounded by others that may hate hyenas, so she decided to leave. She was still on edge, but felt better than before. From what she could see, there didn't seem to be anyone in the area. Her nerves were able to take a temporary break.

Mtanga noticed a shocking red figure and his tune tailed off until he stopped, eyeing the creature almost apprehensively. He gave somewhat oif a shrug and approached the Hyena. One of his own, that should make him or her more easy to talk to, perhaps, unless they were hostile. The scent crossed his nostrils and the sex was determined as female. Allured and alarmed by her bright pelt, he relaxed and drew closer. His voice was a low drone, but almost calming. "Hey you, Whassup?"

Talutah hadn't noticed the gray hyena that was coming towards her. The hyena thought she was all alone. Atleast it wasn't a lion or something, she could assume that a hyena would be semi-friendly to another hyena. The male came closer to Talutah, he didn't appear threatening in any way but she was still on edge.
"Hello..." she said back quietly, trying to think of an answer. She really didn't have a lot going for her at the moment. "Nothing is really happening for me at the moment," she admitted, afraid that the male would find her boring. It seemed like Talutah always managed to say the wrong things when she met others. Hopefully she wouldn't bore this hyena away.

She looked upset in a strange kind of way, maybe even scared. Mtanga relaxed his posture a little more, if that was even possible, his olive eyes were round and reflected his harmless personality. The female was quiet, so he lowered his voice too. "Hey there." She seemed blunt, and it was quite saddening. "Oh, what's wrong dude?" He paused for a moment. "I mean, dudette, cause you're obviously female, and a pretty outstanding coloured one at that." His voice trailed off and he nodded. "Not much goin' on in my life either, but you know you gotta relax and go with the flow and all of thattt." The female seemed even darker and more vivid with the light from the setting sun cast against her. "So, what's your name?"

Dudette? Talutah felt her face get hot for a moment. She had always thought of her color as annoying, not as outstanding. The male was different from any she had ever met. He was so mello and relaxed, the complete opposite of the red female. Talutah realized that she probably didn't seem too friendly and tried to relax. Hopefully, she would be about to forget about her nerves.
"I'm Talutah," she replied a little louder than before. There were no other animals in sight, so she tried to get the 'you're going to be attacked' thought out of her mind. Instead she concentrated on the male. She was now pretty curious about him. "What's your's?"

"Talutah" He let the name roll of his tongue and tested it a few more times, his calm voice ringing out in the savannah. "'Tis a nice name." He nodded. "Sorry about my choice of vocabulary for your gender, my family always differentiated by "Dude" and "Dudette" something that comes from a generation long ago, apparently." His vocabulary and speech sharpened in the last sentance to prove then when he needed, he could become more formal, however he dropped the act, because it wasn't him, and he smiled. "My name is Mtanga."

Mtanga. Talutah let that information set in her brain. "Your name is nice aswell," was the only thing she could think of to say in return.
She thought about his choice of words. "Dude" and "Dudette" were words that she had never used before. But they did sound interesting and being called "Dudette" made Talutah feel younger and spicy. It was something that she had not felt for a long time.
"So others in your family talk the same way?" she inquired, her nervousness almost completely gone. She had been abandoned by her family at a young age and had no idea if they talked different or not.

"Why thankyouu!" He hadn't been told that his name was nice, and guessed she may only be saying it in return, but appreciated it anyway.
"Well yeah, they did." He paused for a moment in thought. When was the last time he'd seen his brother? He didn't know. And his mother and father seemed to be even more distant memories. "From what I can remember anyway, dude, but there has to be a reason I speak this way, and from what I remember I picked it up at home." Family.. He missed family. He got so lonely sometimes. "Well, what about you, family, friends?" He asked casually, unaware that his question could be interpreted as somewhat bold and intrusive. Hopefully she wouldn't take it that way.

Talutah was alway hesitant when asked about her family. It seemed like everyone remembered their's, even if it was just blurry memories. This was not the case with the female. She really had no memory of them, not of a mother or father or even siblings. All she did know is that she was abandoned, her family didn't want her.
"I don't have a family," she sighed, "I really don't even remember them. As for friends...it's the same."
The hyena found it difficult to walk up and become friends with other animals. She was always either too shy, or too afraid.

He realised how his question may be viewed, so quickly offered an apology. "Sorry for being nosy there, ma'am!" This was another word that his mother had introduced to him when he was young. Perhaps it would suit Talutah better in this situation. He would normally use it in a formal situation, but given that he may have upset the Hyena, he used now as the time.
"If it makes you feel any better, I don't have many friends or family either." Luckily, the Hyena seemed to live for his adventures. Live to wander into the horizon, wondering where his day would take him, he smiled broadly.

Now Talutah realized that she was being called ma'am. Even though it was meant to be polite, the word made the female feel old. "Don't...worry, I don't mind the questions," she answered, then added, "And, you don't have to call me...ma'am." She really didn't mind the questions, just having a conversation made her a bit happier. It had been a while since her last one.
She was a bit surprised to hear that Mtanga didn't have any friends. He seemed so friendly and different from herself. How could he be in the same situation? "Really? I...would think that you would have lots...of friends." She was a bit taken back by his broad smile and couldn't stop a small smile from escaping from her own face.

"Ahh, okay." He relaxed and felt a little more at ease, perhaps she would just be comfortable with being called dudette, or dude. He was taken aback at the fact that she thought he would have lots of friends, because he really didn't. "Erm, I wish I did." He laughed gently.
"Hey, wanna go somewhere?.. We could like, have a mini adventure!" He said exictedly.

"A mini adventure?" Talutah restated. She had never done something like that before. Even when she was younger, Talutah had been too busy trying to survive on her own to go on adventures. But the idea sounded like fun; and the female could certainly use some fun.
"Alright," she said, growing excited that she would be going on her first adventure. "Where should we go?"

"Anywhere!" He was exicted and happy to be within someones company for once, especially if they were about to embark on an adventure! He was a wanderer by nature and was always happy when doing something fresh and different. "Where would you like to go, what kinda stuff do you like?" He asked. Places and ideas ran through the hyenas mind and he let out an exicted laugh.
