Shoujo Phoenix L0k1 How.....in any way, shape, or form....does spongebob promote homosexuality? Cause he's pretty flamboyant. They like to assume that all gays are flamboyant, and they also hold to the belief that people are influenced to be gay and CHOOSE a life that's in many ways more difficult than being straight. ...I hate people. I'm not saying its good to assume a totality, but there's a hell of a lot of gay me who deliberately perpetuate the image of the simpering, lisping, flamboyant fop. Just like there's enough lesbians perpetuating the image of the "Men? They aren't needed anymore" end of things to create a stereotype that sticks readily in the mind. When a fair number of the members of a community go deliberately out of their way to create or perpetuate a stereotype, is removes some of the onus from those who believe it. Its a problem that exists on both sides of the fence. And let us not forget the old adage that most stereotypes are based around a grain of truth. Often misunderstood, misinterpreted, or exaggerated, but often there. But this whole Spongebob thing is pure unmitigated stupidity. Anything that I understand he does that can be interpreted as gay is common behavior among children.

Yesterday was things that make me smile, today is things that I like about myself. Hoorah for trying to fix my state of mind.

I guess you're around more gays than I am, but I personally believe it's the media who captures the whole flamboyancy of gays and lesbians, thus the stereotype unfortunately is not without merit. I pretty much disagree with the whole "shout to be heard" thing. Unfortunately, that is and will stay the stereotype. Flamboyancy makes me wonder sometimes. In any case, I agree about the whole "common behavior among children" thing. I don't see why it's interpreted as gay either. confused

Man, sometimes that guy was so..uh..more girly than me, it was scary. Like when he brought me to HOM Furnitures, and was all, "OH THIS WOULD BE SOOOOOOO CUTE IN YOUR ROOM! Especially with that lamp! -squeal-"
