"Yeah, cause screens 'just' go black.. "

He muttered. If Sian didn't want to tell him what had happened, that was ok with him too, not that it stopped him from pointing out the obvious.

"As for the coffee... your mother and your uncle would kill me if I didn't contain my hunger"

He explained smiling. He had hopes that the kids wouldn't be incubus, but Alexis had already proven that any child of his would be affected by his demonic nature. For now though, both twins were still children and hadn't developed enough to be able to feed on lust the way he did.

((heh heh I'll be glad if both boys aren't behaving like incubi. o3o ))

Sian just grinned at his dad. "Mom yes. Uncle I doubt it. That'd be like killing his favorite drug."

He slipped away to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Mom had brought some of the cups down so he and some of the other kids could reach them.

"Ok, so I don't wanna be on the wrong side of your mom.. "

He explained to Sian as the kid walked past him, leaving him to his own thoughts. Children, he realised, saw things in black and white. Obviously he hadn't meant it literally when he'd said that Arioch would kill him for it, yet, his son had figured that's what he meant and had pointed out what he knew already. Arioch, whilst he would harm him if he got pushed into it, would never go as far as killing him no matter what he did.

In the kitchen, John was taking apart the perculator to see how it worked, unaware that his father would be less than happy with his handy work and wasn't really aware that Sian entered the kitchen to get a drink either.

Sian tilted his head a little, watching his brother take apart dad's coffee maker. he watched for a few minutes before he spoke. "I hope you know how to put that back together." their dad and sister both wouldn't like it if the coffee machine was dead....

"Sure I do"

John bragged to his brother.

"Its not that hard to put back together.. I think..."

He got a bit unsure of himself there, he'd only taken it apart to see how it worked, not to see if he could put it back together. He suspected it wasn't that big of a deal though and had completely forgotten that both father and sister depended on the black yucky tasting liquid that the percolator provided.

Sian blinked.

"You think? You better hope you can. I'd hate to see dad and Alexis' reaction when and if they find out you broke their coffee machine."

A little gasp was heard she stepped into the kitchen, having wanted to fetch a snack. "You broke the coffee machine?" Dakota stared at her same aged uncles like they'd committed the ultimate sin.

He had to admit, Sian had a good point there. Their older sister wasn't one he wanted angry at him. Dad, he hoped, would see why he'd taken it apart, besides, Dad had gotten his coffee before John had taken the machine apart.

"We did not.. I did not.."

He defended himself from Dakota.

"Sian's just panicking, that's all, you'll see"

(lazy about color)

Sian blinked at Dakota. "Actually. I broke a computer....rather it went black....John here is trying to upset Alexis and Dad."

Dakota eyed John. They all knew if anything you never took coffee, or anything related to it, from Alexis and Joe. It was a rule. You broke that rule....well it was pretty.

Sian giggled. "Let's just watch him put it back together. If he can't then we can tell dad."

"I'm not trying to upset them.. besides, what they don't know won't harm them.. and dad had a coffee before I started"

He pointed out to the two, in the process showing that he'd learned something from his father about hiding things and generally didn't think things through in advance.

He frowned at them for a moment before looking at the problem at hand, and meticulously, putting the machine together again.

Dakota shook her head. "Doesn't mean mother's had hers yet..."

"Wouldn't she be asleep though with Andras?" Sian asked, sipping his drink quietly.

Dakota nodded. "Last I remember, she was but who ever knows when she wakes up and wants coffee?" She didn't get entirely why her mother seemed to be with two men...Andras and her father, Nebiros. It puzzled the girl. apparently Alexis was doing her hardest to keep her succubus side quiet for now...

He ignored his brother and niece for now and simply concentrated on the project at hand. Eventually, he smiled proudly at his brother and held up a spare screw.

"There, they even put in a spare screw!"

The machine looked like it would work again, and all that was left now was to see if it would work, or simply not be around to take responsibility if it didn't work.

He looked a bit stunned at his new surroundings. One minute, he'd found himself in a hostage situation, the next minute, he apparently, was out of danger and in someone's home.

"ok... weird.. "

He commented to himself as he looked around his new surroundings. The really nice thing was he no longer had a gun pointed at his head and he didn't have to worry about the mutants that had been about to swarm the place he'd been in.

With no idea of where he was or who's house this was, he started exploring the house only to end up in the doorway of the kitchen and watched the three youngsters for a moment before coughing to bring their attention to him.

What they'd notice would be that 'Joe' was no longer dressed in his usual clothing, but rather, was wearing something more casual and futuristic and wearing thin black nylon gloves, the one thing their father/uncle would never consider wearing..

Dakota shifted her gaze that were so like her mother's to the man standing in the doorway. She arched a brow at the gloves, her wings fluttering a little before they folded inward.

Sian was the more attentative one. Just by his instincts he knew this wasn't his father, though the doppleganger sure resembled him a great deal. The gloves was nothing. Not to this boy. "Who are you?" He asked softly, though there was a small note of authority. Despite being like his dad in the way of hacking into computers, he had his mother's sense of control.

Dakota eyed his clothing more. She didn't remember ever seeing anyone with futuristic clothing before. It just seemed weird?

As Sian spoke, he looked up only to find his father standing in the doorway.

"Hey dad.. uh... did you know coffee's bad for you?"

He didn't particularly want to be here when his father or sister tested his handywork and found out that the screw he was still holding was actually needed.

It was then that he realised Sian had asked who the person standing there was.

"You hit your head or something, Sian?"

He asked. To him, the man in the door was his father, plain and simple. Ok, so the gloves were weird, but he guessed that in some weird way they were part of the costume. It was followed by wondering who their father was planning on sleeping with that he'd dress up in such a weird way.

Joe smiled disarmingly at the question from one of the boys. The boy, quite rightly so, had every right to ask who the stranger was.

"Joe"

He introduced himself seconds before he looked at the other boy not hiding his surprise.

"Dad?"

He wondered out loud. Something had gone wrong in his reality, though for the life of him he had no idea what had. The fact that the kid told him coffee was bad got ignored in favour of wondering why the kid called him 'dad'.

"... I'm dreaming, aren't I?"

Sian of course didn't buy that this was his dad. His dad wouldn't dress up in something so tight, let alone where gloves. Somehow, gloves and incubi didn't seem to go together in the boy's head. Not now anyway. Sian didn't take his eyes off Joe. "That's not our father..."

Sian didn't think he could explain it, but instincts told him this wasn't the same Joe that helped create the twin boys. Sian's eyes resembled his mother's but they seemed to hold a darker hue when he thought.

Dakota blinked, watching her two uncles before she glided over to Joe and peered up at him. She enhaled his scent just by standing near him...it was familiar...but not...

John raised an eyebrow at his dad then, generally, their father didn't ask if he was dreaming.

"Well, if that's not dad, then who is it and why's he look like dad?"

"Look kid, I never claimed to be your father"

He pointed out, sounding more paranoid than their father ever would be.

Dakota's presence seemed to enhance his paranoia. He had no idea who she was but wings were definitely not normal where he came from and he eyed her off suspiciously as she stood next to him.

"Actually, I'm not sure how I got here or why I'm here... feel like telling me?"
