I'm FIRST CHAIR in my band class and whenever one of the other clarinets don't get something I'm supposed to teach them. It's really annoying but fun at the same time. I'm just like, "You do this and this and this...." and if my BD isn't looking I tell them all the wrong stuff so they get yelled at even more. Most of the other clarinets in my band class are assholes so it's perfect revenge..... twisted But it's not that hard to be first chair in my class considering that in my entire band class there is only:
5 clarinets 1 tenor sax 1 tuba 3 trombones 2 trumpets
LOL no percussion, flutes, baratone, or anything. it's so fun!!!!!

right now I'm second chair in the top band at my school (we have three bands). And since the top band will have about 10 people in it after this year since it's mostly seniors, I'll easily make first chair next year. I'm also trying for section leader, but idk if I'll make it.
I'm curious, has anyone ever played Weber's Concertino? I played it for our district (and state) festival, and I sort of miss it now...

I am a returning clarinet to marching band after taking a year off for my sport((tennis)) and school. And before you say anything, I thought taking a year off was the worst mistake in my high school life((even if I'm only a sophomore)) because every time I heard the band play I would honestly cry, because I wasn't on the field with them.
But I'm back and loving it. Even if I feel only slightly higher then a newbie in marching band. With concert band, I've been it for 4 years now, so I'm fine with that.
