Crossing her arms behind her back, the ANBU captain spun on her heels. "Anyway, you have permission to start training and to take simple missions until the Raikage returns. Get to know the newer members if you can. We need to work together now more than ever." She gestured toward the door, dismissing him if he had no further questions.
Next she focused her attention on the genin. He looked nervous to be in the office in the presence of an ANBU captain, but her demeanor bore no malice, hopefully relaxing him. She waved him forward so that he could speak. "What is it you need, young one?" As before, her gaze settled on the paper in his hands.

Honō blinked, opening his mouth as the young man revealed he thought Honō was asking if the kid was the Captain. "No, I, I meant..." He mumbled, voice lost under the Anbu calling for Kazurai to enter. Flushed with embarassment, Honō could only wait outside and pretend his ears weren't straining to hear what kind of person the Captain is. Honō flinched as he was called in, despite his mental preperations. "Ah, yes." Honō couldn't even gather together his training under the critial eyes of his family heads to straighten his spine all the way, though he did manage to uncurl his shoulders somewhat. "I was suggested to come here? To hand in my mission. My sensei, Miko, she was called away elsewhere."

Kazurai gave a small bow before his lip curved some.'Get to know others huh...'[/i] He really wanted to become strong on his own and personally make a difference but he saw the logic in this. "As you wish, I will begin right away." Turning he made his way from the office glancing about the other genin there. He remembered the girl from earlier offer and figured it would be a good start, considering she had actually invited him.

Finally only one genin left to handle, and his nervousness hadn't subsided in the least. The ANBU would have chuckled if it weren't for the fact she didn't want to make him feel any worse than he did. But she had been right about him turning in a mission. She held a hand out for the paper in his grip. "Relax, I'm not going to hurt you." Taking the parchment, she opened it and frowned behind her mask. Two members refused orders, it seemed, but they did finish at least part of what they were given. "What can you tell me about the other squad members and how they did with the missions?"

Honō tilted his head down slightly at the gentle words of comfort. It was more the fact he was worried of making a fool of himself - and being called out on his obvious nerves only made his pale skin flush. "Uhm, besides Miko? I only met the one; she was nice. I..." Honō frowned, a different kind of worry flittering over his features. "I don't know where she went. We were walking some dogs and... I thought Miko knew. I thought maybe she had something else needing doing." Honō looked down to his feet, ashamed of himself for not asking earlier.

The woman looked up from the piece of paper as Hono spoke. He didn't have much to say about the squad. He met one other, Miko, and the others never even showed up. Jotting down a few notes on a pad on the desk in front of her, she spoke slowly in response. "Adviser Wan seems to have summoned all of the temporary squad leaders to the hospital." Pausing briefly, she stood straight again. "Thank you for your report. You can collect your reward from the secretary downstairs. If there's nothing else, you're dismissed."

Also given what Miko had left Hono doing when she was called she'd expect the most recent point he'd visit would be the office for his collection of his pay for the cleaning mission. Anywho I've come to collect the two thousand ryo for the current squad four and mission expenses we'll build up in our training. Also have you seen a wiry fella with really fancy clothes made of silk, white hair, and seems a bit skittish when it comes to social interactions. He's one of my squads members an I'm to be the leader so I need to gather the lot of'em. "
Miko was unaware of the situation between Hono and the Anbu captain at the moment, but she thought if she could collect Hono first she'd have more people int he way of collects her team members.

I hate these stairs... He thought, remembering the last time he had to climb them, on the day of the attack. The same day that he became an official Shinobi for Kumogakure. Back then, he was dressed in his bards robes with a guitar on his back, getting ready to meet the Raikage. Now he wore a somewhat torn and worn black, fur lined jacket, zipped open to reveal a simple grey shirt underneath. His black hair was tied up as usual, although not with the typical explosive tag tie that he'd been using earlier. He'd already scolded himself over forgetting to ask Hanna for his back, her company being nice enough that it slipped his mind. Sora's swords remained at his right hip, with his headband hanging off the hilt of his katana as always. All in all still the same guy who entered the office before, just a little more worn. The darkness beneath his eyes accentuated his need for sleep, yet he wasn't yawning or stretching in the slightest due to the medical treatment from earlier, and his strange immune system. He'd be energetic for another few hours, before everything came and crashed down on him.
When he eventually reached the office in question, he once again pushed the doors open without so much as a knock. It wasn't that he was trying to be impolite, it was that he was actually trying to rush. Either way it went, no matter how much he disliked it, he had a team to meet. It wasn't common for him to work with others, he hadn't since his brief time in Konoha. Even before then, he had just been a boy who sat on his own in the lap of luxury, never able to make friends his age, only occasionally gaining the sense of friendship with the guards who defended his life. The only people he'd consider where Axel, and maybe Hanna to work with, since he was sort of familiar with them. But nope. He highly doubted that things would end up that way. Something he did recall was Kaileer saying that they'd be on a team together, but the Raikage wasn't around for him to question. Oh well.
The door opened to reveal a somewhat womanly figure, with crimson robes draped about her. She wore a mask which blocked off her appearance from him, but the blonde locks that framed it were just feminine enough for him to confirm her gender at first glance. When you where as pensive as he was, you spent a lot of time examining people. He did so up to the point that he got ridiculously good at it. "Soraru Hiraite, reporting in. Myself, a Chuunin named Axel, and a tamers pet by the name of Shukenja have recently returned from the land of lightning. I..." There was a slight pause in his speaking, and his eyes seemed to divert a moment as he thought about something. Whether or not he should be completely honest...If I'm not going to be, who will? When it came down to things, he was the most stable of the group. Or at least the one in the best condition to answer questions. Shukenja likely had trouble speaking, not to mention he was an animal who just found his master. That accounted for two things. For one, Shukenja had less intelligence in comparison to the young heir, and likely wasn't going to be leaving Hakanai's side for awhile. Axel, after they'd been rescued, had just started to act differently. Burst of weird emotion initially, then much too tame when he came by later to bring by some food.
Oh cruel world, why couldn't Soraru have left that whole thing mentally or physically damaged like the rest of them? The truth was annoying. emotion_bigvein
"I'm the most stable of the three of us to speak on what happened. I believe we've been reported missing, right? I'm willing to tell how that happened from the very beginning, in exchange for....well, a chair. It's a long story, and I'm tired of standing after climbing that stupid obstacle course of a staircase." He said, a bit of playfulness in his tone, despite the fact that he was technically a criminal of the village. He left the gates without high level permission, and Axel definitely didn't have that kind of authority, no matter what he said. All the same though, deep down, Soraru knew that he didn't regret anything that he did.

The young woman gave Miko her pleasant smile in return. "It's good to see you alive and well." Her grin faltered then at the mention of ryo. She hadn't received any sort of not--oh! Just as the thought crossed her mind, an ANBU stepped up to the desk and handed her a missive. The genin must have been him to the punch. The masked man glanced at Miko briefly and then left as quickly as he came. Unfurling the parchment, the secretary skimmed through it before understanding lit her eyes. "Right." Did they think she just had that much ryo lying around? Her gaze returned to Miko as she continued. "I think I saw someone by that description head up the tower a little while ago." Standing gracefully, she straightened out her clothes. "Hold on a minute while I retrieve your ryo." With a small bow, she headed down one of the nearby hallways.
A few minutes later, she returned carrying a decent sized pouch that jingled with the sound of coin. Holding it out to the dark-haired genin, her smile returned. "Here you are, ma'am. I wish you luck on your mission."

No sooner had the pale-haired genin given his report and exited, the door was gracelessly opened once more. Arms crossed, leaning against the front of the desk, she scanned the newcomer briefly. Decently tall with dark hair, the teen looked like he hadn't slept in days. Thanks to that and the worn clothes, she was able to put two and two together before the kid even spoke. It was also thanks to that, that she didn't blast him back through the door when he entered. Besides, he wasn't one of the shinobi she had already scolded verbally, so there was no sense in being too harsh. Still, he would receive a thorough berating at some point before he left. First, though, his report was more important. The village had been in a bit of chaos in the process of trying to find them.
Chuckling at his statement regarding the stairs, he pushed herself up from her perch and gestured to one of the many seats lining the room, initially intending for him to get one himself. But she decided otherwise and retrieved two seats herself, one for each of them. If this was going to be a long story, there was no sense in standing through it. She placed one chair in front of the desk, facing the teen, and the other across from the first for him. Perching lightly on hers with one leg crossed over the other, she waited for him to seat himself before speaking. "I received the report just a few moments ago about Adviser Wan's successful return, as well as the smoke on the horizon. You're the first to give a full report, however." Leaning back, she grabbed a notepad from the desk and faced him once more. The news that he was the most 'stable' was disconcerting, leaving her all the more to wonder what had happened after they vanished. "Right then. If you're comfortable, go ahead."
Soraru took the seat offered to him, sitting across from the woman who hadn't scolded him or told him off yet. That was a pretty good sign, although once again, his mind ran a mile a minute. It only took him a few seconds to come to the conclusion that she likely just wanted to get all the information out of him that she could before punishing him in whichever way she deemed most appropriate. Normally, the samurai would have challenged such a thing with cheeky, snarky behavior, however he really just wanted to get things over and done with. He was too tired to even catch up to his pensive mind. When she ended up mentioning that Wan was the adviser though, there was nothing that could help the grin which spread on his lips. While she reached for her notepad, he wasn't able to hold back from at least getting one cheeky question through. "I have a newfound respect for our Raikage. I can't understand a single word that Wanryoku-san says, so it's very hard to imagine him as the adviser." He said, grind dying down into a simple small smile as she told him to continue. Ahh, where to start? He assumed it would be best to begin from where things really got hectic.
"Axel, Shukenja and I were actually all in the same area before the whole incident went down. The former ended up leaving though a little earlier, I can't say where to. I think in the room...there was Kaileer, Hakanai, Hatsu...umm, Inori, I think, though I don't know why a pop idol would be around. Shukenja, Osamu, and, last but not least, the Hokage. There was a lot of tension and things going around, although it wasn't any of my business. Kaileer seemed to be slipping though, at that point. Then...we heard a scream, and I went to check it out. I think Osamu came with me. We found two dead villagers, completely frozen over, with no evidence as to a who, why, how, nothing." It was then that Soraru paused for a moment, bringing a hand to his mouth in thought, finger over his lips. He couldn't pass by that thought without wondering if there was any way that he could save those people. They were the root to everything else he did on that day, not wanting anyone else to die helplessly, with nobody to even try saving them. Alas, he could never find a way to save them. There was nothing that could have brought him to that room before the scream. But maybe if I was just a little faster.... The thought came and went, but it was enough to draw a sigh from the boys lips, smile disappearing.
"When I got back, Kaileer was pretty sapped of everything, it seemed. He told us to protect the villagers, then just passed out. Soon after, there was this mist, and I followed it with Hatsu. Hakanaki and Osamu followed a bit after us. We ended up coming into a room, where we found a tall, lanky creature made of what seemed to be ice. It had the villagers backed into a wall with no way out. At that point, I just moved. Hatsu managed to hold it down for a moment, and I took the opportunity presented. I both destroyed the arm of the creature and the wall within the building to give the villagers an escape route.The rest of us then worked together to obliterate the thing. That' when...I guess that's when the genjutsu first came into...play..." Soraru's voice ended up trailing off again, remembering the feeling. He was normally quite lazy, but that was completely different. He was lazy or indifferent due to his own personal creed, but under that mist, he forgot that creed entirely. He just didn't want to do anything, and thinking back, it got him fairly ticked. That he could be controlled and manipulated in such a way. That, however, was genjutsu. "It made me not want to do anything. But I was starving, so I guess my body decided that it didn't care about anything but getting food. I made my way to the tea shop, since it was the closest place, only to find another Shinobi under attack. Her name is Hanna, pink hair, heterochromatic eyes of blue and pink. I helped her out, but this creature managed to get away. It created a mist, and once someone else helped us escape, I realized that it had to be some kind of Genjutsu. It creates...this feeling of utter laziness, apathy to the extreme. Anyways, while I was out, I saw the creatures all making their way towards the village gates. They were mobilizing, leaving nothing but panic and bodies in the streets. Everywhere...the dead were all over the place, and I felt a need to give chase. I just couldn't let all of those people lose their lives for no reason. I couldn't survive with the guilt of knowing I just didn't do anything, so I followed them to the gates, to try and figure out anything I could. On the way, I found an older man struggling, since his house was collapsing on him. I ended up helping him out, and he gave me the wakizashi that I now own as a reward. With all that done...that's how I got to the gate, and met up with Axel."
He looked down then, realizing the kind of situation he was really in. Any kind of wrong word could get him and Axel both kicked out of the village, but that wasn't as much of a problem for himself. If Kumogakure drew attention with that recent attack, he didn't need the eyes of his father to settle on the village. Honō's retreat back to the entrance was slow going, hesitation showing as he had trouble contemplating what he was going to do on unsupervised time. His head perked up, catching a drift of a familiar voice.
"Miko." He gave a shy smile, relieved to find his teacher.

• Soldering Teammate: Honō will support his teammates by means of supplying weapons, tripping up the opponent, or manipulating the environment to his allies' advantage. Honō will watch his teammate(s) to get familiar with their tells, thus becoming more and more accurate in reading their intentions.
• Sleek Steps: Due to his training in the Hari clan, Honō has no difficulty traversing slippery surfaces, even over uneven terrain.
• Latticino Hands Honō's work has gained him steady hands and the ability to perform minute, detailed work. Finicky work, such as the setting up even the most intricate traps, holds less trouble for him.
Weaknesses: • Cracks: Honō was never trained for proper combat, and as such has a tendency to flee instead of fight, especially when out numbered. When hit with an attack, his urge to flee only increases.

✰ It seemed like Miko had made it to the tower before Wan's rather recent orders and stipulated fund for the squad leaders had to take some time to come through. "Good to be alive." So in response to the awkward and puzzled expression the secretary gave her Miko herself reflected back at her. As the missive and information was given to her by the Anbu who'd suddenly appeared Miko would roll her eyes at no one in particular as she'd await the secretary to return with the money in an envelope . Looking at the ryo Miko make sure to count her money as was her penchant of habit. Though some part of her was dangerously curious about where the secretary went off to to get this money she'd just figured there was something like a safe in the tower, so the building must of doubled as a bank or possibly some jutsu connecting to what could pass as a form of safe considering that they were shinobi.
From what the was said Miko figured that Hono was likely still in the building and by the time he'd descended the stairs with the perked up expression Miko would wave him over. "OI~! Hono get yur arse over here we've got work to do." Once Hono made to her side Miko would use a softer voice to further explain the situation to her squad member. "I see you got through the job alright by yourself. Proud of ya, but we gots some training ta do for a mission and the Raikage's advisor has deemed that we're to take on two more squad members. Although her grin was impossible to see beyond the plain mask she wore, the air about her was one of amusement at Soraru's comment regarding Wanryoku as adviser. However she said nothing, giving him the space he needed to start his story.
First he gave a report regarding what happened within the village from his perspective, including small details about the Raikage's condition, the creature that attacked within the academy, and, more importantly another witness to the Hokage's presence within the village. Reports stated that he vanished soon after leaving the building, and more than a few suspicious thoughts were thrown around. His information gave no more leeway toward answering the questions, but the man was for sure present when chaos struck, and he conveniently disappeared instead of helping the shinobi during a crisis.
The genin mentioned a 'genjutsu' and then trailed off, forcing her to look up at him to make sure he was alright. His expression was one of perhaps confusion or anger, or both, but otherwise gave little away. And then he continued, explaining in a little more detail the strange sense of apathy others had mentioned after battling the ice creatures. Even her ANBU. While they were trained to show little to no emotion in the first place, their duty first and foremost was to protect the village. This... trick of the mind forced them to ignore even those orders and do nothing. Some civilian survivors reported that they suddenly felt drained of emotion when within the mist the creatures emitted, and others noted that those that died almost always just stopped moving and let the monsters catch up to them before they were frozen solid.
Again he paused, and this time she didn't look up at him, instead finishing her notes. She could feel a sense of... not panic but not quite worry from him before he spoke once more with care. He wanted to take responsibility for the actions of the three that went missing. She remained silent a long moment after his request was finished. Eventually, however, her scribbling stopped and the masked gaze returned to him. "That's neither yours nor my decision to make. The punishment will be decided by the Raikage once he returns. But it is a strong burden that you have decided to bear." Her face tilted down slightly, not quite to the ground, but as though she were staring through him. "We must work together to carry one another. That's the only way we can truly trust each other in a dog-eat-dog world, no?" Another invisible grin behind a white mask and she sat straight. "It is a very brave thing for you to do." A small gesture with the pen signaled him to continue.
