Hey if you guys wanna see some pieces of jewellery I made on the weekend I posted it in the hobbies sections - it was my first attempt at silversmithing ^^

Thanks guys ^^ My idea is to get scrap glass in all different colours and then use a rock tumbler to smooth them out to a matte finish like beach glass. Then use the silver to set them in earrings, pendants and charm bracelets. I'm just saving up to make a tumbler and am sourcing glass off the internet too. I'll see how it goes . . .

that sounds awesome, me an my mom used to go down to beach to pick up the glass, there's all kinds of colors but my favorites are the blues, I love them!

I'll see how I go and if they turn out ok I will probably sell them on ebay but I've got other plans in the works as well, I'm thinking of going back to uni next year to study law so I think the jewellery will be something I'll return to in retirement lol.

Cool.. I have lots of hobbies like that.. Make bracelets (though not nearly as nice as yours and made of string) and pillows.. and now working on knitting.. but even if we don't make a killing (cost-wise) it's a great stress reliever to do things like that that are both creative and productive. Good -luck with the whole going back to school thing! That is awesome.. How is everyone else doing??
