Blanc: Haha, yeah...I have a strange obsession with coloring at the moment, actually. I printed out a lot of pictures and I'm nowhere near done. I'll have plenty to do if I ever get bored and wanna be artsy smile .

Minerva: You're welcome. Yeah, I'm glad we're peaceful now. smile

Coloring? I love coloring. I love it, it's so much fun. That's all my entire geography class consisted of this year. Well that, a lot of movies (Forrest Gump, Road to El Dorado, Madagascar 2, and Hotel Rwanda), countries, and many games of Egyptain Rat Screw. I miss that class :c

Oh, we saw Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Pleasantville (awesome movie!), and...some wrestling movie, I forgot the name...in my history class. Wasn't really paying attention to Saving Private Ryan and the other one, though...I was reading Twilight at the time, haha. Most of our classes consisted of slide shows and our teacher explaining it all to us and having us write the slides down on note packets (which were the slides on paper with blanks that we had to fill in). Still didn't make history any easier for me...

We had a lot of coloring too, but mostly maps and stuff...like, for wars, color the countries on one side this color and color the countries on the other side this other color...then we had to name lakes and oceans and rivers and draw trails...it was pretty easy, but not nearly as fun as making Miley Cyrus look like the Bride of Frankenstein twisted .

Ooh that definitely sounds like more fun.
I had a history class last year where we watched mainly movies made by PBS and they were, in kind words, dull. We did watch one movie that was absolutely amazing. It was called Swing Kids and it was about a group of teenagers in 1930s Germany who were anti-nazis and listened to jazz music created by Jewish men. It was made in the early 90s, I think, and Christen Bale was in it. I loved it.
Other then that I never bothered with the movies or slideshows my teacher played. I was the top student in that class too which I found amusing that I maintained an 'A' average all year in Pre-AP World History, but was not placed in AP European History. I wasn't complaining though, Geography was way easier.

Doesn't it? razz

Ew, I hate those educational things the schools show us...they can do better than that. Like when we would go to the museum and IMAX for a field trip, they only showed us educational crap at the IMAX...how can something that looks so cool be so boring? We had a lot of documentories that we had to answer questions on...unless it was about the Holocaust or some war, it was boring as hell...

I suck at history, but I still kept an A...even after the horrid D- exam grade, I still had an A. And the only classes we can take next year are World History or AP World History. I'm in AP, and so is everyone else who maintained a solid B or better in their last class. We don't get to take Geography until...senior year, I think. But I never really got into it...I think there's only so much you can teach in that field and I figure we're just gonna be coloring maps the whole time, but for actual history, there's always something needing teaching that's important for us today.

OMG. (Sorry 'bout the topic crash.) I am SO excited for the movie! -squeals- :3 I wish I could go to premier (2 days!) but my parents won't let me >.> (I think they just don't want to stay up that late and drive me there/back.) Ahahah there seems to be a lot of Draco in it whee

Ooh, lots of posts. :3 Sorry 'bout being gone, real life caught up with me for a bit.

Welcome to Ravenclaw (okay, a little late, but still) everyone who's sort-of new XD

Blanc: Place in AP? Don't you choose your classes? .__. Maybe my school is different, but as long as you passed (C or above) the prerequisite class, you're allowed to take it (though they suggest B or above).

Kineka: Sometimes the documentries are pretty good and somewhat interesting. Other times, we're left sitting there listening to a man with a monotone voice. I always hate answering questions with a video. It's a good way to show we were paying attention, but how are we to write our answers when we're supposed to watch the silly video.
What grade are you in? The Social Studies classes usually go as, World History or Pre-AP World History, Geography or AP Euro, US/State History or AP US/State History, and Government or AP Government.

Turayza: My parents won't let me either! :c However, I am going with a bunch of friends on Friday to make up for not seeing the premiere. I'm hoping there are quite a few scenes with Fred and George whee
Usually, well for my school at least, when they request you to be in an AP class, you're placed in it and don't find out until you get a letter in the mail in August with your schedule. For me, I was recomended for AP Euro and it was on my schedule. I did the summer work and when I got the letter in August, it said I was in Geography. As my friend says, irony the greatest invention since fire.

turayza: Ours are sold out...we have to wait until Saturday at noon to see it...

Blanc: Sometimes, yeah. But the monotoneness gets really annoying.
I'm going to be a sophomore this coming year. What about you?
Ours go 20th Century American History, World History/AP World History, Civics/AP Civics, and senior year it's not required, and I don't remember all the classes we have...

Yeah, I have to be requested to be in an AP class too. Normal classes, it's just if you're passing, you get into it. If not, you get into it but then you still have to make up the class you failed last year.

Yeah I know what you mean.
I'll be a junior and for failing classes that's how it is here.

Yeah it is. I'm so excided c:
No problem : D

So, has anyone seen any good movies recently? Considering we're all waiting for Half Blood Prince to be released, we've had nothing else to watch in theaters other then the movies already showing.
I saw Public Enemies just the other day and thought it was absolutely amazing. There was action, romance, and a really good story line that definitely fallowed the life of John Dillinger really well.

I really don't watch movies that much...unless I really wanna see it, like Half Blood Prince.

My parents, however, just saw Push yesterday. Said it was pretty good...I don't know, maybe I'll watch something new someday...

Oh I love movies, but I'm usually like that too. I watch them way more than I do television. I'm either watching a movie, on the internet, or reading. Sometimes I do two of them at once whee

Wow, you guys are certainly active XD

I haven't seen any good movies (well, Transformers 2 was decent) recently. :l Oh, an anime series (well, two) I found, though--Gundam Seed and Code Geass I'm just catching up on.

Saturday?! That's crazy! -mutters- I think I'm going to go buy tickets before they all disappear XD
...Strange. The cinema closest to me still has tickets for the midnight premier, actually.

I'm going to be a sophomore, too! XD

Oh, that's strange. At the school I attend, if we feel we've been wrongly placed in a class, we just talk to the counselor, bother a couple teachers, and try to be switched.
