I live in New Zealand... there is probably very few shops here that would get manga... seriously, I would have to go for a 2 hour drive to Auckland and then make my way around the chaotic streets just to find the very few stores that sell manga, and just HOPE that Naruto is actually there.
See the thing is Naoto, not all countries have a store just down the road selling manga...
Hence why I MUST rely on the scan sites...
We do get anime like no tomorrow, it's manga that's hard to find here...
I live in what we call "hick land" and I have to drive 2 hours to get my manga as well... Which is sad because I'm only 20 minutes away from civilization in every direction. But I gotta go nearly out of state just to get my manga. Not to mention I live in the mountains. So I can level with ya Qyp.
Not to mention you have just as much access to Amazon.com as I do. As I always say "If you can't come to the store. Make the store come to you!" XD

Well it doesn't affect me much lol I don't really read manga much just not my cup of tea. If I'm going to look at something I want it to talk and such for me, hence anime lol and if I'm going to read it I don't want to go from voice bubble to voice bubble and I like my stories to be complete in one book , or a few books in the case of a series haha.
Awww... That makes me sad. But it's okay. I suppose many people buy manga the same reason I do and I do because of these points...
-Manga is original. No distortion! Except English translation cuts out cuss words, sexual themes and all that jazz because well... America is dumb and thinks cartoons are meant for all audiences so they have to "panzi" it down for children who might get a bad dream and wet their pants at the sight of bad words like "a**" or "s**t," or question things like sexual understanding at the sight of a boob. (Sorry. I'm ranting. I hate censorship so much! It's so much easier to just say "HEY! Your too young for this." [young meaning anyone younger than 10 years old]) But yeah... Anime will sometimes cut out some important or cool stuff about the manga. Take Full Metal Alchemist or Fruits Basket for example (and before anyone calls it out. I KNOW! Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
-Artistic zeal... I'm sorry but when I purchase a manga I could read it in 30 minutes. But I don't! In fact I end up reading it for about 3 hours just because I will sit there and study every panel. Looking at all the detail the artist puts into it. I especially love those 2 page scenes that shows all the landscape/scenery. So much detail! I love it!!!
-Collecting... It's great to collect the series and plus you don't have to worry about the frustrations the internet can cause. Like page errors, slow loading, HORRIBLE SCANNING! (God it pains me when I read chapters that look like a blurred mess! Like they decided to photo copy the chapter after photocopying their a** for 3 hours and not washing off the scanning glass) And plus the books are right there! I can just get up and reach right off bookshelf.
I know it sucks waiting for the manga to come out. I know I don't wait! I go right ahead and read em online... But I also buy the books when they come out. =P
