Hi, guys! I know of some people who'd like Photoshop but can't afford it. This is a very nice alternative so I thought, while I'm spreading it around I'll throw a bone here, too.
You all can use this instead of Adobe Photoshop if you get the itch. It's free and works pretty well. I tried it out and while it takes some getting used to (I'm used to Photoshop), it can more or less do a lot of the basic Photoshop functions.
Some of you may know of it already; it's called the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP).
Photoshop is more extensive in its initially available capabilities, I think, but GIMP is definitely good for a lot of things and it's FREE and
widely used. From what I've seen, anything you want done in Photoshop, you can do using GIMP. You just may have to do a few more steps to get there for the really advanced tricks. I believe they have a version for most operating systems (Windows 98 thru XP, Mac OSX, Linux/Unix)
