Ace stared blankly at the Spades.
"Um . . . farewell, Three and Two!" he called, lifting his hand and waving lightly anyway.
Well, that was rather unusual . . . what to do now? AH! The Raven! Where was I? Ah yes! I had made it quite far into the story before they came along . . .
"Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
`Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven.
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore -
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!'
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'
Unfortunately for Ace, memories of his life before being a Suit didn't resurface. Instead, he remembered the previous Ace of Spades.
"Well, Two, what's the matter?" the previous Ace of Spades said, pacing the younger Ace's bedroom.
Raven stood still, his stomach knotting and his shoulders feeling heavy. He kept his eyes on the floor, tightening his lips. He had kept his pistol in his belt, giving himself easier access to it. If it was in the holster on his leg, it would take far too long to get to.
"Two," the last Ace said, his voice startling Raven. "If something is ailing you, perhaps you should check into the infirmary."
Raven kept his lips tightened, moving his heavy feet to the Ace.
"Two, are you okay?" the last Ace asked, his eyes reflecting concern.
Raven locked gazes with him, smiling gently.
The Ace smiled. "You're so beautiful, Two. That smile is so cute!"
Raven chuckled weakly, stepping closer to the Ace and wrapping his arms around the Ace's waist.
"Two?" Ace kept his arms out, unsure of what to do.
Raven's jaw quivered; with his ear flat on the Ace's firm chest, he could hear the continuous rhythm of the Ace's heartbeat and breathing.
"Ace," Raven whispered, attempting to sound cheerful. "I love you."
The Ace remained unresponsive for a few seconds, but eventually held Raven in a tight embrace.
"I love you too," he whispered, placing his hand between Raven's shoulder blades. "Still, what's wrong?"
"My heart, Ace," Raven responded, not moving his position.
"Y-your heart?" the Ace asked, still holding Raven.
"My heart aches, Ace," Raven continued, "My bones creak from the pressure . . . I feel like my heart has rotted, pulsating venom through my veins. This heavy feeling . . . as if I had my heart replaced with a stone . . . or a block of ice . . . or as if it has been stolen. That would explain this emptiness . . . this black void with no end, sucking all the life within me."
Ace stroked Raven's right shoulder blade lightly with his fingertips. "Beautifully put, Two," he whispered. "Very lovely . . . like a sorrowful song. You always speak so poetically. So, now I know you have a metaphorical wound on your heart."
Raven nodded, pressing his lips together once again.
"What has caused this wound, Two?"
Raven sighed, meeting the eyes of the Ace. "Forget that right now, Ace," he whispered. "Just alleviate some of the hurt . . . and kiss me."
Ace stared into the black lifeless voids of Raven's eyes, soon closing the distance between them and kissing him gently.
Raven slid a hand down the Ace's waist slowly, taking in the feel of his muscles. Discretely, he brought his fingers to his belt. Raven paused, savoring the Ace's taste . . . for the last time.
Raven soon pulled away from the kiss, whispering in a shaky voice, "Farewell . . . Ace of Spades."
The sound of a gunshot filled the room, followed by the sound of the Ace gasping in pain. His hands became limp and Raven shoved the Ace off his body. The Ace fell to the floor, clutching the bullet wound in his torso.
Raven kept his lips tight in a menacing line, lifting his gun in the Ace's direction.
The Ace's eyes widened in fear. "N-no . . . no Two! Snap out of it! This isn't like you!"
"Don't call me 'Two'," Raven said quietly. "I am the next Ace of Spades."
"Two! What about our love? You're willing to throw all of that away just for a position? Two!"
Raven didn't answer the Ace's question. Instead, he kept his burning eyes on the wounded Ace and breathed deeply for a few silent seconds.
"I love you . . . Ace of Spades."
Another gunshot followed.
With a thud, the Ace dropped lifeless to the floor, the hole in his head leaking blood all over the floor.
Raven's lips trembled. With a shriek, he threw his gun to the floor, rushing to the dead Ace of Spades.
"I'm sorry!" he screamed. "Ace! Oh, Ace! Ace, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" His eyes burned stronger and hot tears began to pour from his eyes. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Ace! Please forgive me! I'm sorry! I love you, Ace! I love you! I didn't mean to kill you! I'm sorry! Please, forgive me. I'm . . . "
Raven clutched his dead lover's body, weeping on his neck and screaming in agony.

Ace of clubs got up and took Ace of hearts Pulse herself, well, Eight was right, what did you know? it seemed he was having atrial fibrillation so she decided for atenolol, she prepared the shot and administered it to Ace of hearts, that should calm his heart rate. "there" she said whit a smile and handed the bottle to eight "You can use that if it happens again, you can also use diltiazem or verapamil... or electroshocks, the electroshock machine is over there" she signaled the other end of the room
((Have you noticed ace of clubs likes shots?))
((are we having a sad-long post contest?? XD sorry, had to ask... I like the way you wrote that serene, I do hate ace of spades after that though))

(WAH! NO! OH JABBERWOCKY, NO! *BAWLS* crying crying crying )
Three finally got out of the hospital, savoring the fresh air that greeted him. He sat on a bench, clearing out his thoughts.
Why is this incident affecting me so greatly????

Tao walked over to her. "That's what i like about you Alex. YOu're always on a whim..." he said. HE hugged her tightly. He never wanted to let go ever again.

((This video has been making me laugh my a** off for the past while! rofl )) Two glanced at Three, anger resurfacing.
"Were you planning on telling Ace . . . that you saw me get naked?" he said, his voice low and annoyed. Two's eyes narrowed in on Three.Cosette? Is that her? Ah . . . yes, there she is. How could I forget those beautiful green eyes of hers . . . and that cute foreign accent. Her long chestnut hair looks so beautiful in the light . . . she looks like a doll . . . the most beautiful doll I have ever seen. I have had many women in my life . . . but Cosette was the most beautiful . . . inside and out . . . and I'll never forget how I wonderful I felt when she told me she was pregnant . . .
Ace of Hearts groaned, his hands twitching again. His breathing was shaky, making him seem as though he was going to wake up. His hands relaxed themselves once more.

Ashle sighed. SHe woke up, looking at the ceiling. Her face felt like it was on fire, but then again, she'd gotten kinda used to it. Some part of her was always bruised now. She got up and drove to the hospital, barely making it on the slippery roads. She went to the room and walked over to Marcie. "You look awful, hun. Lemme take this next shift. You can sleep in my car..." she said.

Marcie rubbed her eyes "thank you, What time is it?" She asked getting to her feet "Wasn't Alex going to come today? Is she coming tonight instead?" her mind was a little foggy from lack of sleep.

TAo looked at her, "Is there something wrong, Alex?" he asked. He thought, If Jack so much as laid a finger on you i'll kill him...
Ashle said, "She went back to Wonderland. She told me that I had to watch Hatter here for her..." She smiled at Marcie. "You're a very dedicated older sister. I mean... You're so strong to be here for so long without cracking..." Ashle hugged Marcie. "you deserve sleep."

Eight blinked. "His hand twitched for a moment there...maybe he'll wake up soon...hopefully..."
Three turned his head to Two, quite aggravated...all of this was enough. he's confused enough as it is.
"Well, yes! To be quite frank, I was! Until I thought of the better and decided NOT to humiliate you, because you know, YOU have a reputation to keep!" he gritted his teeth, surpressed anger flaring through his veins. "And technically, you weren't naked, and thank goodness for that, or I might've been scarred for life! Oh wait...I ALREADY AM! IT CAN'T BE ALL ABOUT YOU, TWO! IT'S NOT JUST YOU WHO'S EXTREMELY HUMILIATED!" Three said, walking away with clenched fists, fingers digging into his palm.
I have to get out of here...I just...need something to make me forget...
Three walked past a neon sign, turning around to read it...
'Catscratch bar and resto'
Perfect, Three grinned.
(No puns intended, dear mister Cheshire Cat sweatdrop I was running out of names, so I borrowed the club from "RENT" XD)

Marcie was a little startled at Ashle's behavior but she didn't make any comments, she just returned the hug lightly, trying not to fall asleep on it and then pulled away "thank you" Marcie Was about to exit the room when she trough of something... how did Matt knew this girl? it couldn't be from wonderland, that was for sure "Ashle... can I Ask something?" she said leaning on the door for support.
Ace of clubs smiled "we better have a cube ready if that is so, he is going to trow up as soon as he wakes up" she said taking a seat again.
