Kanu thought about it.
"For the moment, I do believe that's all," she replied. "Oh, and Marice's reply came in - he said your new rocket launcher wouldn't be available for another two or three days. Solid titanium is hard to come by, after all."

((btw, is that marie as in, [mary] or as in [mare - ee]?))
Bubba stood and sniffed. "If it must be." Then, he nodded to Kanu, before turning and walking out the door in search of Morto's laboratory, again.
He walked into the door leading to the room where he had undergone surgery, looking around before focusing on the doorway leading deeper into the laboratory.

((Marie as in Mary. ^_^))
Morto looked up as Bubba entered.
"Ah, good," he breathed, standing up. "I was just about to fetch you. Several of the prototypes for your eye are finished and ready to be tested."

Bubba glanced around again before walking to the Doctor. He hadn't even seen him in the room, there.
"Prototypes? What exactly will they all do?" Bubba asked, his curiosity overriding his hate at the moment.

((Bye!))
Morto motioned to the five eyes that had been created, not to Bubba's measurements quite yet, but they could easily be replicated. The pupils were all slightly different to tell them apart while they were in the testing stage.
He motioned to the first one to Bubba's left, which had a slightly red pupil.
"This is the AFX 300," he stated simply. "Using a powerful lithium battery installed inside, it can shoot out a small red neon laser that is capable of slicing through a few layers of strong metal. The exact strength of the laser has yet to be completely tested. And it also comes in handy as a microwave oven as it can be calibrated to shoot out something very similar to those rays instead of lasers used in weaponry. Very useful for when the power goes out."
Leave it to Morto to add some strange quirk or ability to all of his inventions.

((That is... very odd. I don't know if we want to go that futuristic, xd ))
Bubba nodded, adjusting the patch on his face. "Sounds like overkill. I can't enjoy my victims' fate if I can't see when I'm using it - or can't crush them with my bare hands. Guns, at least, have a satisfying BANG. What else?"

((Morto has an IQ of over 200. There is no such thing as 'too futuristic' for him. xd ))
Morto moved onto the second one. This one had a dull pink gleam in its pupil.
"This is the SSK 1.0," he replied. "This is capable of literally switching the way your brain views the world out of that single eye using the artificial nerve endings that will attach it to the brain. Thermal vision and night vision are included. Unfortunately though, you can only activate them by pressing the button on this remote," he motioned to the small device resting near the eye. "It will cycle through the different visions the eye is capable of. However, using the special functions over a long period of time will result in a splitting migraine headache. Use with caution. Is also capable of measuring the pulse of the living target that its focused on. You'll have to use the small pink button on the remote for that, and only when thermal vision is activated."

Bubba nodded; this one was a little more to his liking. "Special vision - and pain included? Sounds like a package deal. Next?"

((Gotta remember this... AFX 300: Laser. SSK 1.0: Visions...))
Morto moved onto the next one. This had a slight green tint in the pupil.
"This is the XLR 700," he stated. "This is capable of detaching from the skull to reattach on any surface, no matter how slick. It detonates within ten seconds, or it can be detonated manually. The special 'heart' gear makes the eye capable of reforming itself after the explosion, and - even after being used several times - still contains perfect vision and perfect reception from nerve ending to nerve ending. Eye colors also comes in teal, red, and gold."

Morto moved onto the next one. This one had a white pupil, looking like whoever would get it would be blind.
"This one works a little more abstractly," Morto informed Bubba. "This is the TRZ 550. By monitoring the heartbeat and brainwave patterns of any subject the eye is focused on, it can predict the person's emotional state and stress levels at that particular point in time. This eye is very good for seeing who's lying and who's telling the truth. The eye's vision also has a built in digital clock that automatically adjusts to daylight-savings."

Bubba did not nod. He was staring at it with scrutiny.
After a pause, he replied, "Well, that's functional. A very nice addition, to automatically change." To ordinary people, it might seem odd that they were discussing so innocuous a topic as time-keeping, even in an artificial eyeball, but to the members of that organization, their jobs were just business. Still time for small talk, and for gossip and chatting and social lives.
Bubba didn't much care for gossip, or his social life, but indeed he thought the feature of swapping for Daylight-Savings was a very nice addition. He glanced at the last one.
