Dragon Sneeze The Kohr liz_bliz_inc The Kohr liz_bliz_inc Rei blushed at Reaper's jest, and at the same time Liz gave a loud snort or snoring sound as she rolled in her sleep, as if on que. Noting that Liz still remained asleep Rei adjusted her position as she cleared her throat and said, "No, Nix and I were never like that. We are very close though, sort of like he and Liz are; I think all the younger Hunters are pretty close. That's why this is almost personal for us, it's like they took a brother from us, but especially from the former x-nation members. We had to stick together for years before we split to follow our own paths." She looked into the fire briefly as it danced in the cool night air before answering his question about their enemy. "We've tried a few things so far but we have never been able to find a solid opening and have never moved to strike or had to back off mid attack. Right now we're sort of in between plans, Liz felt we needing help tracking her though if we were going to keep biding time while making new plans." "As for the opponent, there is only one that we are concerned with. There are a few others that have been intercepting teams meant for trade off with her before they meet up. We haven't been able to figure out how to take Zack from her but we cannot allow her to hand him off to them. We at least know the stakes or our current situation, if we let her get that far there are still too many unknowns to play the odds with Zack's life by letting the deal go through and trying to get to him after, so we are keeping her isolated as long as we can." Rei shifted her weight as she concluded, "The abductor has some sort of power to separate parts of things, even animals, from the whole without causing immediate harm to them and reattach them later. the problem is she can also stop the spell and let the natural events of severed limbs or organs occur naturally. We're guessing magic based on that but we have no idea how it's done or what type of magic she is using if that's what it is. Any time we have put the pressure on so far she has been on the ball in making sure she had a vital piece of Zack removed from him. We think she can cease the effect at any time, but more importantly that were she to die, the spell would end as well. Which means if we kill or possibly even knock her out, Zack dies so long as she has an important piece of him cut off at the time." "In essence, we are in a very deadly stalemate." "Well s**t... now I wish I brought Soul along. This is a definite cluster ******** of a problem." Reaper stretched his legs out and leaned back, "Well know I get why the hunters would need help tracking someone. As my experience goes she sounds like she isn't desperate and she has done this before. We need to shake her or we will lose our edge." Victor looked over at Liz and rolled his eyes," She has no back up she knows she's alone and that's what keeps us in the advantage. How close does she need to be to use her ability?" liz_bliz_inc sorry for being a bit absent just recently but things a sort of coming to a head with end of the semester, looking for a new job, finding a new wow guild, etc, etc. at max I should be at full posting power by the end of April. No worries regular life gets in the way all the time. I buried a friend on the 14th and by the end of next month I'm having a son! so my posting might (absolutely) be taking a hit

Zack was one of a handful of mutants to survive their experimentation with accelerating the growth of a mutant's powers and their span by inducing secondary mutations to manifest years before they might have. He was also one of five they considered to be successful according to the data Tinker took from the facility the Hunters shut down years back, it was dubbed 'project Omega'. He and the other four represent a massive investment of time and money on their part and their being freed before the project came to full fruition was a enormous blow to their plans. My theory is they aren't just after Zack, they probably contracted this woman to bring in any of the five she could." Rei looked from person to person at the fire and said, "This is told in the strictest of confidences I might add." She then continued, "I doubt that the Eden organization would be interested in Danny for the same purposes they want Zack, though they might still be interested for different ones. We'd need to convince the bounty hunter that she'd find a much higher bidder for a mutant that could be the key to immortality than Eden would ever pay for Zack." "I do agree that she has to be fairly veteraned at this line of work; she is handling this hostage situation far better than most I've seen." She looked at Ricky as she said, "I wouldn't really call it a 'one trick pony', considering that even with the skills we possess outside out powers, if we possess any, we rely heavily on them in situations where our opponent is also powered. I also don't really consider that is is playing on threats so much as she is very serious about what she will do if we push here while she has most of the cards. She knows she needs to keep Zack under her thumb constantly if she is to have leverage in this situation, with us and definitely with Zack. She may have seen what he did to that floating mountain when it fell but I don't think she could know this: Zack's powers grow stronger the larger the span of bare earth and forest around him becomes. Not just what he has to wield, but how much he can wield, how strong he can make it, how fast he can move it. He is more powerful in this sort of location than at almost any other time, more powerful than most mutants I have seen. The middle of nowhere is the worst place for anyone to try and test him, the moment she couldn't kill him or someone else on a whim is the moment she is in serious trouble from more than just us. So honestly I think the question of whether she can throw a punch, take a hit or is handy with a pair of jumper cables is somewhat of a moot point at this particular crossroad."

"Judging from the rate she travels at, I'd say she's probably a good three miles away right now, roughly west-north-west of us; though her specific location has always been something Liz has had to narrow down as she's tracked closer, which as you know, has become a bit too hard for her to do of late." Rei looked as Liz and then back to the group. "As quickly as we can all be rested I hope. We have a few hours until sunrise. I can finish up my watch, Liz will be up soon and I will be able to get the few hours of sleep I need. If you want to catch some sleep it would probably be a good idea, we'll be moving as quickly as we can while tracking to catch up to her."
