Blanc: Yeah, I hope that you guys stay active. I think we need something new and different in this common room, since it's normally just me, Para, Kitsune, and Minerva...and sometimes turayza...

I wish you luck in your carreer of the arts! I would go into arts, but I really don't have the patience...but as others say, I have the talent. I don't even draw anymore because I want to get it over with quickly instead of taking time for it. But anyway, I'm glad you're doing that! Disney animation is amazing!

Para: I can't watch the Harry Potter weekend...I don't have cable anymore...but I have them all on DVD, so the best part? No commercials! biggrin

Haha I watched those. Dan can't shut up, but he IS pretty funny. Emma's such a sweetheart. smile

I... don't watch TV. It's really weird to explain that to people, but it's generally true. Between reading, and then all the interactive stuff I do online... I don't even OWN a TV.

I had a small TV in college, but it was almost always my roomate(s) who used it, except for when I watched an occasional dvd via my PS2.

At my old place where I used to live, I got rid of the tv. I was there for two years. There was a TV in the living room and it had the 'on demand' stuff. The only things I really cared about was the Adult Swim anime and the FearNet movies (I love horror movies, always have). That was usually for odd hours when I couldn't sleep.

At my new place we supposedly have some variant of basic cable (had to cut way back due to the owner's overdue bills), yet we still have over 100 channels I think... there's -1 and -2 at the end of some and I know some go up to the 100s but some 'chunks' are blank/cut off. There's been a few semi-random overnight guests that ask me what's good on TV or what I want to watch and I'm like "I... don't... watch... TV."

I do however NEED internet. We got it because of me at my last place (I'd drive in my car and find unsecured wifi until we got it).

Here a neighbor has unsecured wifi but it 'messes up' every 5 minutes. I was in the middle of a VERY emotionally taxing conversation last night and a friend said he'd be over in 30 minutes. AIM express kept refusing every single message I sent yet the ads would refresh and I could (haphazardly) surf the internet... so I was frustrated and probably would have hurt the computer if this one wasn't technically not mine (it's property of one of my jobs).

At an hour I began to spaz out. At an hour and a half I walked the block singing/screaming "Girl Anachronism" by the dresden dolls. Eventually I restarted and it texted his phone and he came over ... about 2 hours later on the mark. I was in tears, mucus, and dry-heaving about how everyone I'm close to seems to leave me, lie to me, or both.

Yeah, I'm definately calling the Power of Attorney (Person acting in place of the owner/landlord because he's in jail =/ ) today. Having someone else's internet cut out on you and giving you a panic and depression episode where you have to struggle for an hour not to mutilate yourself or other objects (It's a brain chemistry thing... I do take medication to try to keep that icky stuff in check) is a bad side effect of something as fixable as having a reliable internet source.

Blanc: Welcome to the Ravenclaw common room. I hope you like it here.

Kineka: What's Dracula about? And I took some sorting quizzes on Google and all of them said I was in Ravenclaw except one. That one said Hufflepuff. So I guess I pretty much must be a true Ravenclaw or whatever.

Meatball: Wow, I could never survive without a TV or internet. I don't know how you do.

Para: Yeah, I started watching the Sorcerer's Stone last night, but then my older brother kicked me out so he could watch Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and my mom was already watching something downstairs so I only saw the first hour and a half. But I have them all on DVD.

Meatball: I watch TV, only because that was all I grew up with, that and video games. I didn't start liking reading until I was way older, and in that time, I started to love certain shows, and they were on all the time. I only watch a couple now, though, like The View, iCarly, Drake and Josh...stuff like that. But now I don't have cable, and I've been getting into Judge Judy and stuff...haha she's hilarious xD. But I, like you, spend more time online and reading than I do watching TV. But I get sick of reading easily if I've been reading the same thing for a long time, like in the same series, without taking a break from it. Plus I'm always getting headaches from reading too much, then I get nauseous...it's like getting carsick at home. Or if I'm really into something else that has nothing to do with the book I'm reading, then I won't read it. But I watch movies more than TV shows now since I just got my parents' old DVD player in my room.

Nariko: I don't even know what it's about, other than that is has a vampire in it smile . And yeah, so did I, the majority of mine said Ravenclaw. And I just took one on Quizilla that was personalized (like, they ask you questions and you answer them, and they determine your House by your answers) and it said that "everything in the form screamed Ravenclaw". So, I don't know, maybe it's just the questions they asked in The Sorting Hat Guild. They were more personal with the questions, not just roleplay ones like the form in this guild.

Para: Thank you very much! I hope so too and I'm not, but I am rereading the books. I may watch the movies this weekend though.

Kineka: Maybe I could come up with something? I don't know. I plan to be an active member, but I'm entering my junior year of high school so things will definitely be a lot more busy.
Thank you! Patience is really needed considering there are around forty to fifty drawings in about two seconds of animation. Difficult, but rewarding in the end : D

Nariko: Thank you, I believe I will :]

Okay guys, I'm freaking out...

I just got a friend request from someone who hates me, but doesn't know it's me...

Like, we went to grade school together, and hated each other by high school...but she thinks I'm someone else and now I'm all chatty with her...it's hard to explain, but it's so weird! Used to be best friends, now worst enemies, and seems like...friends again? Unless she doesn't mail me back...

Sorry, off topic, smile .

Blanc: Well, that's good. I hope we get more active members, I want to talk to the other people in Ravenclaw.

You're welcome smile . Yeah, I barely had the patience to do Lite-Brite as a kid...but, I see you have it, so very very good luck!

That's odd. It's the internet so she may or may not find out that it's you, but she seems okay with talking to you now. I don't know.

Oh I loved Lite-Brite. I used to organize them by color and make rows of only one color at a time. I hardly ever used the black papers.

Well, in the few messages we've exchanged, we came to a truce. We're cool now. Not FRIENDS, but more...peaceful and friendly.

I did too, but I kept getting frustrated with it when it wouldn't do what I wanted it to. I also tried crocheting and knitting, but that was over with fast...also drawing. I CAN do all those things, I just don't have the patience for them.

That's good.

I've never tried to crochet or knit. I really want to learn how to though. Generally, I am very impatient with things or I do half of something and never finish it. If it keeps my attention, then I stick with it. Patience is really a virtue.

Yeah, I do that a lot too. I even did that when I made bead jewelry as a kid. I got frustrated because the string wouldn't go through the really small hole in the bead. Then I'd drop the one I wanted and couldn't find it again...ugh, it was just bad. I quit that a while ago, haha.

Haha. I quit making friendship bracelets a few weeks ago because I was sick of doing knot after knot. I'll probably start making them again once school starts.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:27 am

I used to do those, but they got me really mad...I just stuck to braids smile . At least I know how to do those, and pretty fast too.

I just did the simple diagonal pattern. Now I really want to make one of the bracelets for some reason.

Thanks, Kineka! Yeah, people at The Haven are generally open-minded. smile It’s better to not carry animosity around, so I’m glad tha you and your former friend came to a truce.

Welcome, Blanc! Nice to have another Raven! razz

nariko, I noticed that the last url bracket isn’t closed with this symbol ] which could be why it shows up.

Meatball, I don’t watch the tely either. Not only do I generally dislike television shows with all their ads in-between (I’d much rather watch films.) but I've lived alone and haven't had cable for a year! lol
