"My thoughts exactly!" he said, pulling his own shirt on. Before he buttoned it, he pulled Elyria in for one last, lingering kiss.
She let herself get lost in his kiss once more...savoring it for all the promise it held..the feel of him so close..she wanted it to last forever..but duty once more took priority....
"To be continued..." he said, and gave her his most charming smile before turning toward the door. "You ready?"
she smiled back at him..a warm, almost sad smile you go ahead...I'll be along in a minute... as he started through the doorway, she reached out her hand... Corvin...I.. she shook her head.. Never mind - I'll be right out...
after he had left, she sat down on the bed covering her face with her hands, before running a hand through her hair...she had wanted..but it was for the best...her duty was clear...she stood and went to the mirror..her face was flushed..there was a slight red spot where Corvin's beard had brushed her cheek..she touched her hand there as she looked into the mirror..her eyes then looking beyond..before snapping back to attention..she splashed some cold water from the basin and grabbed the small towel to blot her face..small improvement...but she hoped no one would notice..she finger combed her hair and straightened out her clothing before returning to sit on the bed and reach for the bag in the corner..she opened it and pulled out her hooded cloak. Hiking the bag onto her shoulder and covering herself with the cloak she headed towards the bridge
.....daring not to meet the others' eyes..a slight blush on her cheeks in fear they would...suspect what had taken place..and in a voice much stronger than she felt.. Shall we go?
