Millenium Joker SorceressJacklyn Millenium Joker SorceressJacklyn Millenium Joker I must admit, i've had slight trouble with things in the Wiccan belief system in the past. namely, discovering who or what my patron diety is and what form/spirit my 'guardian' takes- I read once that by focusing and being very calm, quietly meditating and being at peace in a secluded area- perhaps a bedroom- that your guardian will make itself known to you in time, but after having tried for almost 4 months every night to contact it and learn it's identity and appearance, I had produced no results. However, an image of a rotting beast made of human flesh and worms often crosses my mind.... must've been all the YuGiOh I used to play. :/ Yeah... I'm a Pagan but I'm not a Wiccan. I can't agree with some of their views. As for animals and deities, it's different for everyone. I found my deities while doing some mythology research and when I came to their pages, I felt like I was getting the loving embrace of parents I wish I had growing up. As for guardian, came in a dream. He's actually a bit odd but he's my reason to have such a love and connection to the elements. It helped focus my study on divination, chakra healing, crystal magicks, and herbalism. I mostly call myself a Hearth, or "Kitchen", Witch since it seems to be where I best draw up my power. @DSW: I'm eating way more now since I'm at the stage where the umbilical cord attaches and the yolk sack shrivels up. But at least the nausea is gone. Now it's nasty headaches. Hmm.... he came in a dream? How did you go about contacting him? How do you remember what he said and did? Because.... the meditation thing never worked for me. I have a vastly overactive brain (medically, the chemistry is... off) and I can almost never remember my dreams, unless something awful happens in them (like when my father blended me into a human-flavored smoothie and drank me.) Any tips on making contact? Because I've always been intrigued by this sort of thing, and to make contact with my guardian would be like a fantasy for me. Unless he's a huge d**k. :/ I wasn't trying to contact him. But he came to me not long after my first Esbat ritual after finding my deities. He and another being like him were there and I was riding him. He was huge! But now, when I need to contact him, I light a green candle (since he's that color) and take a nap or wrap a green thread/ribbon around my wrist if I'm going to sleep for the night. Look into Lucid Dreaming. It helps you remember your dreams better. Or start a dream journal to write down what you do remember and over time, you'll have an easier time remembering your dreams. So first, I need to find out who my deity is.... Any tips? Also, what is Esbat? (N00bish, i know) Hmm..... I know for a fact that I AM NOT looking into Lucid dreaming- I've read about the negative effects and risks, and unless I have somebody to help wake me up when I do it, I'm not gonna try it. The dream journal may not work- all i ever really remember are things I use to write horror stories and plots/ideas for video games. :/ The Esbats are the full moon of each month, where Sabbats are the "holidays" that are scatter through the year. 8 in total, if you want the list. As for finding your deity, think about who you are. Now it might sound easy but it's really not. Then let your instinct guide you to what pantheon, or group of deities, to start looking through. The biggest thing is to trust in your instincts. They don't steer you wrong in this regard. Still, writing them out does help at least memory retention. Try it for a couple weeks. If there's no change, move on. But if you start to remember more, keep at it.

Now, when you say 'think about who you are', can you clarify a bit? because some times, I not only have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality, but i have trouble distinguishing the 'Myself as I" and the "Myself as me"- namely, what I truly am, and what I desire to be like. :/ If it helps, I feel a strong tug towards Norse mythology, even though I am half Greek. :/ @Plaything- DG?

Must be a pain at times. =/ Have you come up with a name already for your baby girl? whee Yeah. Doc said headaches are normal. Just to watch what I use to relieve them. And we're still working on names since we don't officially know the sex yet. Oh really? I thought you said it was a girl like a week ago. Man I feel rather stupid. =/ I said we all think it's gonna be a girl. xd It's okay, you're not stupid.

Millenium Joker Now, when you say 'think about who you are', can you clarify a bit? because some times, I not only have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality, but i have trouble distinguishing the 'Myself as I" and the "Myself as me"- namely, what I truly am, and what I desire to be like. :/ If it helps, I feel a strong tug towards Norse mythology, even though I am half Greek. :/ @Plaything- DG? The who you are in reality, not the who you want to be. And if you already have a pull to Norse, start looking through all the different deities. Don't focus on what sounds cool or seems like it would work. Just read each of them with an open mind and trust in your instincts.
