Martin Spiralwave
In the words of Martin

"FUS RO DAH"

Because robes are not effective against greatsword wielding enemies...At least until you get Ebonyflesh.

but... but... I like my robes... they increase my destruction damage, and my magick regen...

@ Havik

I don't, it wouldn't let me eat a bear. I should be allowed to eat anything I can kill... But I am pissed that * Spoiler *. Crap, I can't put that up on here... Frak!

Two of my chars are Imperial legion, one rebel, and one rogue/theives guild/dark brotherhood. xD And all of them are going to own all the Daedric artifacts. xD

I only have a bosmer, a dunmer, an Orc, and a Kahjit. Does anyone else think the Kahjit sound slightly french?

It's Khajit, and Auggie, for games like the Elder Scrolls there are websites which have popularity related sorting. That, and I have no issue with sorting through thousands of mods. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/

For the love of god please tell me you have it on PC Tim. They're releasing the construction kit for it soon, and we'll have a shitton of amazing mods. Silly console lessers.

Nope, I have it for 360. Skyrim would kill my comp...

@ Hinote
Actually, I'm still playing these characters, I'm just finding it increasingly harder to get to the end of a dungeon. which is fine, but when I get hit once, then finished, I kinda dislike that. xD Stupid greatsword weilders... >.>

In the words of Piccolo "DODGE!"

I can't. I'm playing a spell sword. Dx I use my magic until I get in close, but the AI picked that up, and now things just rush me instead of staying back for a second or two. But now I have runes. twisted

Also, I appreciate your reference. ( Literally, I know no one irl that knows about that series, or of YGOTAS... TT^TT )

Excuses, excuses, you should just suck less scream

haha, i keed, yeah, dodging blows is a lot harder in Skyrim than it was in Oblivion, mostly because they actually realized that it makes no sense for your character move backwards at the same speed they move forward. The only problem i have with spell blade concepts is that if you're going for some sort of destruction focus you either lose out on Impact, or you you have to choose between swinging your sword and shooting spells

Also I don't think the Khajit accent is supposed to be french, it's supposed to be some kind of middle-eastern accent I do believe

All you need to know about awesome magic combat:

Perks:

Destruction:
Destruction Novice Casting
Augmented Flames 2/2
Destruction Dual-Casting
Impact

Restoration:
Regeneration
Recovery 2/2
Necromage
Avoid Death
Novice Restoration
Ward Absorb

Conjuration:
Novice/Apprentice/Adept Conjuration
Mystic Binding
Soul Stealer
Oblivion Binding

Spells You'll Need:
Flames
Healing
A Ward
Bound Sword or Battleaxe but always Bow

Battle Strategy:

If the enemy is affected by fire, then use Flames, duel-cast for a second or two then stop, then cast again for half a second, then rinse-repeat, do not flamethrower them, poke them with the spell over and over. Ze extra damage it does because it's a fire spell stacks hard and fast that way.

If you get injured, basic healing spell on onehand should top you up very quickly

If enemy shoots spells at you, fling up a ward to absorb some magicka and lessen damage, only have a ward as long as it is necessary, it will drain magicka super fast.

If enemy is a summoned Daedra just bound a weapon and the weapon's extra properties from perks will hopefully banish it.

If the enemy is airborne use Bound Bow, with Mystic Binding, it's essentially a Daedric Bow (exquisite), comes with 100 bound arrows(daedric), so free ammunition.

Congratulations, you can now do awesome magic combat in skyrim.

Alteration is okay for the defense spells but I'd rather heal fast and kill faster than try and buff my defense.

Obviously get the best robes you can or enchant your own robes or armor. Everyone should take time to Smith and Enchant. EVERYONE!

Any questions?

Yes they do, for melee I just use the disarm shout, or the ice form shout. Never fails for me. Once you have impact is is easy sauce from then on.

My favorite race in Skyrim has to be the Nords though, the females, when made correctly of course, are just the sexiest things ever. I use High elfs for mages though, they Magica regen power is to great to pass up.

As a side question any take the time to find the X on the map that comes with Skyrim? I have not taken the time just yet and was wondering if anyone had.

Or, get on PC, get the mod that allows you to duel-wield two-handed weapons, and also mod the game to amp up the difficulty.

A buddy of mine a while back modded his GTA4 to play as Goku.... Took him a long while to do all the mods to his X box and the game, but when he was done he was a happy camper....

It was pretty awesome.

you mean the map that came in the box? I've actually found several x's on mine, and I do believe that they lead to those stones... don't remember what they're called, but they're like the different constellations and they give you unique powers

There is indeed a Standing Stone in the middle of a lake. There's a few in some REALLY annoying places.
