Owle Isohos Sunstrike ((Sorry for all the delays Owlie x.x been all over the place these last couple of weeks)) He laughed for the first time in someone elses presence. It wasn't very grating, but it did sound as though it didn't happen very often. "You're already thinking too hard. Look," He took a few of the more complicated pieces off the board, tapping the spiral underneath, or at least, at first it looked like a spiral, but then it shifted, and branched where he touched the top. Suddenly the doll shifted sideways, a little further from the others. "The pieces move themselves according to your thought, as long as you touch the table, they will move based on the process your mind goes through. Become distracted by problems, and your characters suffer, like the dolly. She's suddenly been taken in a differant direction. Should they fall over or fall off the board, I win."He put his head in his hand and stared at the board. "I guess you could say it's a game of order versus chaos. You're trying to organize things, and bring the story in full, I'm trying to take it apart, to scatter them."((It's okay, Sunny. I still wuv you. heart *huggles*)) Owle smiled, though she got the feeling he was laughing at her. She was a bit used to laughing at herself, so why shouldn't he? "EH?" Her eyes widened in surprise as the board shifted at his touch, the spiral branching off and the doll moving off course. Then they shone. "Neat!" Owle raised her eyes from the board to him, grinning widely in excitement. She'd never seen anything like this! The young woman bounced up and down a bit in her eagerness to play, forgetting for the moment the events that had led her here. Vahn, Sunstrike, even Rafe got pushed to the back of her mind as she anticipated the game with childlike exuberance. "How do I start?" ((Feel free to tell the story in Owle's mind and direct the pieces while the two talk Owlie <3)) Again the chuckle, a lot softer now. "We've already begun, place your hands on the table." He watched as a few of the pieces moved under her direction. "It's funny, looking back into the past sometimes." Knights said casually. "Most of the time when we played this it was just a representation." He let that sink in slowly, as if expecting some sort of reaction.

"Sure we can."
She took the plastic greatfully, and punched in the order. There was that reciept of course...
"Just sign here."
The hostess would give her the most pleasant of smiles while her order was made and placed on the counter next to her cashier. She handed back the Visa afterwards.
Though, there were a lot of surprised faces around at how much the girl was going to eat.

*Raven sighed happily to herself and tucked the card back away giggling again as she wondered what her accountant would say when he saw a charge from a McDonalds on her credit card... likely the prune of a man would tell her to carry more cash... but he never could wrap his mind around the concept that she didn't like change flying in her face every time she did a cart wheel.. or even worse was a back hand spring and the change falling out fast enough to bounce back up and hit her in the face* Thank you xd *Raven took her tray, and stopped for a straw and a tone of ketchup and a handful of paper napkins before she sat down in a corner booth and started to munch on the fries... HonoRaven was a french fry addict, she loved them, and would happily eat only fries for an entire meal if she thought she could get away with it* xp oooh so goood... heart

eek
Everyone in McDonalds watched the girl devoure the large order in shock, sure it was Gaia, but one could never get use to such things happening.
Sally looked to the girl with the large order and the red-head, stopping from fighting with the plastic that imprisoned her Little Mermaid Happy Meal toy.
"Mommy... mommy... look!"
She tugged on her Mom's shirt sleave, but Mom was busy on the cell phone while plowing through a Big Mac.
"Not now hunny... Mommy is busy."
"Alright."
The girl shrugged, figuring she would eat as much as the person with all the fries when she got older. She went back to fighting with the plastic.
Now she was destined to have artery problems, all because her Mom was on a cell phone.
Poor Sally.

Sunstrike ((Feel free to tell the story in Owle's mind and direct the pieces while the two talk Owlie <3)) Again the chuckle, a lot softer now. "We've already begun, place your hands on the table." He watched as a few of the pieces moved under her direction. "It's funny, looking back into the past sometimes." Knights said casually. "Most of the time when we played this it was just a representation." He let that sink in slowly, as if expecting some sort of reaction. ((Will, do, I guess. This may be a bit silly and disjointed at first, as I'd planned it to be told aloud to Knights.)) She placed her hands on the table. "A representation?" The question was soft, and the demand for a further explanation was clearly written in her eyes. Of course it had occurred to her that this was the sort of game gods liked to play with mortal lives, but she had been trying not to think about that. Rather, she had been considering her cast of characters, and what each one would be represented by. The Princess. This was the little vase. In the castle. The Peasant. One of the pieces of wax cheese paper. He's not in love with her. But he needs her help, cause someone keeps stealing his sheep. He heads to the castle to search for her.The Knight, Rothgar. A piece of wax cheese paper that looked kind of like a sword. He's off to prove his worth by slaying a dragon, and has been journeying for days in search of it. The Princess is in love with him, but has received a troubling vision that he will fail in his quest unless he receives help from the Witch. She has been worrying and worrying, but has been unable to send out a message to him.The Witch. The final piece of cheese paper that looked sort of like a witch's hat. She just wants to be left alone. The locals keep bothering her for love potions, that sort of thing. She's searching for a way to keep them out.The Dragon This was the little dolly, it being the largest of the pieces. He just kind of wants to live. He likes to cook, and someday hopes to be a master chef. Because. Finally, the Two-headed Monster, HumbleBumble. This was the pair of dice. He runs around in circles all day shouting "Humblebumble, humblebumble, HUMBLEBUMBLE!" Now, the Bumble head isn't all that happy, cause sometimes it wants them to say "Bumblehumble." But the Humble head keeps shouting out first. Annoying. They can also never agree on a direction to go in, so they wind up going in circles. The Witch and the Princess would be sitting still, the Knight and the Dragon moving at random, the Peasant moving toward the Princess, and HumbleBumble roving around in circles, possibly shouting.

"Mmhmm." The dice suddenly took a few jagged and bouncing steps towards the wax paper, rolling practically over it to get in between it and the little vase. The first test was placed in front of the traveller.
"They used to represent people. It was a good way for passing the time." The dolly zigzagged a little closer to the sword looking paper, while the vase skipped, but basically stayed in place. Knights was testing the weaker parts of the storyline by using some of the less developed characters as pawns to impede the greater.
"The boards used to be bigger of course. And there used to be great big explosion marks in it when one of them got ticked off. Datho in paticular took out a nice couple of chunks."

"HUMBLEBUMBLE!"
The shout rang through the marketplace as the confused monster came crashing through the town square...just as the Peasant, whose name was Adrian, came wandering through.
He dove to the side, the quick reflexes he gained from years of herding sheep a burst of adrenaline serving him well. Now, Adrian was no warrior. He was a sheperd. He couldn't exactly slay the monstrous creature that had charged straight in front of him, but he did have a sort of natural empathy with big, dumb, creatures. Like sheep.
Like HumbleBumble.
"Uh..." Owle paused a moment to think about exactly how Adrian would soothe the monster, and in that pause she would answer Knights explanation.
"Are you telling me that you'd actually act these things out?" she asked sharply, her eyes resembling tiny toy daggers as she spoke.
Obviously she did not approve.
"There, there," Adrian said, stepping forward. "There, there."
His hands were up in front of him, his voice soothing. He had caught the attention of the monster.
"Humblebumble?"
"That's right, just calm down...'atta boy..." He continued to approach the monster, slowly.
"Humblebumble!" And the monster scooped him up into a great big hug and spun him around.
Stay calm stay calm stay calm! Adrian counseled himself, even though his entire life was flashing before his eyes. "Whoa, there, big guy! Calm down. Say, I'm going to the castle to see a pretty lady. You wanna come with me?"
"Humblebumble!"
And Humblebumble lifted the peasant onto his shoulder, and the two together set off toward the Princess.
Owle smirked, lifting her eyes from the board for a moment. "Thanks. I was wondering how in the world I was going to get him into the main story."
As for the Knight and the Dragon...well, two could play at that game. A false lead in the wrong direction for the Knight, whose name was Rothgar, and an interesting new fondue recipe for the Dragon, whose name was also Adrian, served to keep those two pieces apart for now. She knew what would happen if they met too early, but the story was far more dramatic if the clash between them was the final one.
The Witch...the Witch wasn't doing anything, yet. No point in talking about her to detract from the story. She was in her cave, with her cauldron. And the Princess, Adrienne, was still in her castle.
Are we sensing a pattern with names here?

She tugged on her Mom's shirt sleave, but Mom was busy on the cell phone while plowing through a Big Mac.
"Not now hunny... Mommy is busy." This was actualy a case of a drunk being unable to realize that just because they had the munchies did not mean that their stomach's have grown larger in any way! *Raven made it half way through the second set of fries before she realized that her stomach was kinda hurting... so she switched to the sunday... three spoon fulls and hono was stuffed to the brim... luckily she hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch that day or she likley would have thrown up right about then* sweatdrop
*Rave wobbled slightly as she slowly stood up, grabbing the cola in one hand and the tray in the other, she cleared off her ttable, tossing out the left over food before she headded off to wander the town again, wondering if Morrow was done being a big jerk yet or not... She could really use someone to cuddle with before she headed back to the party to pick up the kids*

Seeing that he had a point, she gave him her food rather quickly, watching him set it to the side before he grabbed onto her hands and helped pull her up.
As she scrambled over the edge so that she was next to him, she grabbed her food and tucked it in her arms, laying flat on the roof before glancing at Kichi.
"We best get down then. Otherwise, they'll see us!"
Her eyes held a hint of amusement in them as she spoke, smelling the food wafting from the bag she held as well as the McFlurry she had gotten. Damn, she loved M&M's.
A moment later, she heard the newsvan start up, and realized they would be on their way soon.

Having both their food on the roof wasn't too much a problem, as the van wasn't moving so fast as to throw the small objects off. However, it might throw them sliding off.
Kichiro, laying beside Mysti, stuck one hand into a satchel at his side and pulled out a contraption that had a grappling hook stuck out one end. It also had a trigger, which Kichiro's index finger pressed in on.
Out came the hook followed by some nearly invisible line, and...
"Ka-thunk!"
They had themselves an anchor, as Kichiro put the gun inside his satchel. Now to get to that food...
"There we go..."

She watched Kichi for a moment, her eyes darting to the contraption he had before she heard the obvious sound made afterwards.
Blinking a few times, she clutched her food happily, wondering if she was that talented to eat on the roof.
"So Kichi, what other things you got hidden in there?"
Her tone was curious, but the look in her eyes was anything but. With a giggle, she pulled a fry out of her bag and began to nibble on it gently.
When that fry was devoured, she was grabbing another, eating herself happy as she watched them go by so many people. A few pointed at them on the roof, and she merely waved with the hand that held the fry before finishing that one of as well.

Yeeeah. Kichiro ate his chicken salad as well. He doubted she really wanted to know what was in that satchel. There wasn't a whole lot anyway.
Well, there was enough to be useful in random situations.
Like Garlic, one never knows when they might need some garlic.
"Stuff."
Kichiro would give the general reply, snatching one of her fries in between gobbling up the salad. There was more grease on his salad then that fry though.
Odd. confused

She stuck her tongue out at him, watching as he took one of her fries.
"Well, you're no fun!"
Digging a spoon into her confectionary treat, she plopped it into her mouth, savoring the ice cream and chocolate bits that were mixed inside of it.
"Mmmmm... This is so good!"
Licking at the bottom of the spoon, she plunked it back in the McFlurry before unwrapping her McChicken so she could take a bite out of that as well.
Yep, this girl liked to eat.

"Riding atop a newsvan to God knows where, and you call me no fun."
Kichiro rolls his eyes, ducking as the van heads under a bridge. He wondered where they were going though, perhaps too...
"Oh no..."
Kichiro wrapped his arms around their food, just as the van would stop and lurch all of their stuff forward. That and the grapple hook would go limp. He knew it would go tight when they started to move again.
"This is Gaia Action News on Channel Nine. We're here to report a massive traffic jam on the highway to the Crimson Hawk Hotel here in Latent..."
A newsreporter could be heard droning on below. It was then apparent exactly what they were stopped for. Traffic jam coverage.
"Well Mysti... tell me a bit about yourself."
Kichiro would tilt his head to look at her, freeing up their food once more.
