I'm going to have a hammer head with a Submunition railgun, what other vehicles do ya'll suggest?
Skyray, simply because I had a bad experience against one once. sweatdrop

I've heard about armies using 3 full squads of pathfinders supported by skyray each to achieve massive "Alpha strike" on turn 1-2

That's sorta what happened to me. On the first turn I have a basalisk take out one of their tanks and kill some infantry with a glancing 6. I love those. 3nodding Anyway, in retribution, later that turn their pathfinders lit up my Bassy and the Skyray blew it to pieces.

... eek

That's what I need, a Basalisk!

I'm going to disagree. If you're not playing Apocalypse and don't need to down flyers, the Skyray's Heavy slot could be better filled by Hammerheads or Broadsides. Heck, I feel that even Sniper Drone Teams are a better buy than a Skyray.

i think broadsides are a better choice than hammerheads simly because their railguns are twin linked and you can fit them with plasma rifles as well i dont know how many times ive shot something with my hammerhead and rolled 1 to hit, it makes me cry XD
and if anyone is interested i have my army list in the armylist thread. I would like some help just to see it anything is blatently wrong with it and what i might be able to do to improve it thanks

I don't think Broadsides are a 'better' choice than Hammerheads. I feel a well rounded list should have both. Broadsides can be neutralized by being assaulted or moving out of the way, and they don't have the mobility to chase anything down. Hammerheads can't be neutralized by assault (or rather, they can, but they can't be tied up) and are mobile enough to go hunting for enemy tanks/squads. However, a single glancing hit will stop them shooting, so having Broadsides around keeps your anti-tank from being completely silenced by a couple shots. The two units complement each other well.

Commented on, in case you haven't noticed already. I only saw one real rules violation, but there's alot you could do to improve the list.

I want to go with that, but I can't quite fully understand how all that works....

Please don't because frankly, it blows. You need to spend a thousand points for just the Skyrays and Pathfinders, they'll fire off 16 of the 18 Missiles available to them in turn one, and then the rest of the game they'll be hosed because they lack anti-tank and there's nothing more effective with regular fire for the Pathfinders to mark for.

Is it just me or do kroot look like a more well rounded unit that Fire Warriors, yes they dont get an armour save but they have bolter equivalent guns, resonable close combat stats and the fieldcraft thing going on

Im asking because im probably going to have more troops in my army and this is what one of the guys at my GW said, and it makes sense

Well you're meant to use them together really. Have the Warriors soften them up, and then send in your Kroot to wipe up the mess.
